Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked The Old Rectory for my Stepdads wake. We had the Lavender room and catering. Ellie who helped us with the booking was extremely prompt and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for her. The wake was a lovely send off and the staff were helpful but also very respectful. Beautiful setting, great service and good price. Would definitely use again for future events. Thank you so much for making a difficult day easier.

A hidden gem. Beautiful building set in idillic grounds. Service was second to none and the food was incredible. I highly recommend this establishment. Relaxed environment, a great atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Lisa, Sarah and the team work hard to make your visit a special occasion. The Orangery is a magical room to spend and enjoy your time in a light bright setting with wonderful views. 5 stars

I wanted to take the immediate family to celebrate my wife’s retirement and knew this would be the right place for it. We had celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the venue the previous year and couldn’t fault it . The meal as expected was delicious and Lisa and her team made the occasion with their attention and service. We were even given a tour of the newly refurbished rooms which have been completed to a very high standard. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend booking a meal or event at The Old Rectory House in the future. Thanks for making my wife’s day one to remember.

The Old Rectory House is an absolute gem. The decor is beautiful and the rooms are spotless. It is very quiet, the perfect place to relax. We were delighted when we arrived, our room was upgraded to the Willow Suite. Such a beautiful, comfortable and calming room. The bar is a fabulous place to enjoy a drink. We had a three course meal from their new pop up restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was spot on. Very accommodating with lots of gluten free options. Lisa was very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my gluten free breakfast was perfect. We will certainly be visiting again.

Yesterday I was at The Old Rectory for my Uncle’s funeral. We were in the Orangery which was beautiful and perfect for our small family gathering. The staff were so welcoming and the service from them was wonderful throughout the entire day. We had a delicious buffet meal after we returned from the burial and food preferences were well catered for. I would highly recommend them and thank them for being so wonderful.

We recently had a our Christmas Work Party (Sat 9 Dec 23), at the Old Rectory House and we were in the Orangery. The room was decorated beautifully and Ellie and her team were very helpful and accommodating for us regarding specific dietary requirements. The food was 10/10, presentation was lovely and as this was a mass catered event I was very happy with what was presented. We were a big group of 77 people so the staff did a great job of organising the food and clearing away so we could clear the tables and get the DJ set up ready for the disco. Thank you again to the Old Rectory House for hosting our event, we would definitely consider using again providing you are able to accommodate us.
