Stourport Manor Hotel offers a location appreciated by guests for its convenience to family and local attractions. However, some guests have called out issues with room quality, noting problems with cleanliness, aging decor, and heating. The atmosphere presents a dichotomy of dated aesthetics and enjoyable entertainment options.
In terms of amenities, opinions are divided, with praise for the staff clashing with criticisms of extra costs and upkeep. Service perceptions often lean toward disorganization, and the value proposition is marred by unexpected charges, leaving many guests feeling the experience does not meet their expectations.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here recently, very average
plenty of parking, not far from town, many eating areas nearby, requests made down to pleasant guy on reception were sorted quite quickly, but really there should be no excuses for any minor inconveniences.
few issues we had....
not enough cups/glasses tea/coffee for everyone in the room
not enough handtowels
beds not big enough for adults, the double was made up of a single and a half a single pushed up together?
bedding was not tucked in/made well
hairdrier was broken
tv aerial had been removed, so no channels tuned
lots of lounge areas within hotel , no one sitting there, as so cold, no fires lit/switched on
swim pool/gym is now chargeable, so we did not bother, shame really, does it have to be chargeable.????
the soaps were not refilled after last users, it was like the dreggs of the bottles
we did not use restaurant
rooms are in old fashioned room blocks to the side of the manor house
Would I stay again....probably not

We were hoping to use the restaurant facilities during our stay but on arrival we were told that the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay due to a festival taking place. We were not informed of this before our arrival. We booked and paid for tickets to the festival so that we had somewhere we could get food and drink whilst at the hotel. We were later informed by hotel staff that the other guests who had booked rooms were given free entry into the festival so they had access to meals etc. We had a great time at the festival but felt the hotel could have handled the situation a lot better than they did.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused during your stay. We understand how important it is to have access to our restaurant facilities and regret that you were not informed about the closure due to the festival. We should have communicated this information before your arrival, and for this oversight, we apologize. We also regret the confusion regarding the festival tickets and the fact that you were not initially informed about the complimentary tickets provided to other guests. We appreciate your understanding and are glad to hear that you enjoyed the festival despite the situation. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will use it to improve our communication and guest services. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a seamless experience. Thank you for your understanding. Kind regards, Manu Thomas Duty Manager

Arrived at Stourport Manor for a wedding ceremony at 11.30, asked for a pint of Lager a pint of cider pint of IPA and a lager shandy and was charged £24.00, half an hour later someone else in our group was charged £22.00 for the same round of drinks. When questioned the mistake was rectified and varified
When checking in after 16.30hrs my Wife and I were charged £85.00 for room and breakfast BUT the other couple we travelled with were charged £135.00 for the same room booked at the same time ???? This was questioned and then refunded the following day (no explanation given)
Room 51 was a lovely quiet room BUT the view of the kitchen bins was a put off. King size bed was extremely hard and pillows too, the bathroom had a decent strength shower and towels are plentiful. But woodwork and bathroom floor had seen better days. Upon checking out we noticed Damp patches behind the radiator that had been painted over
Our Breakfast was piping hot and plentiful.
A large array of fresh fruit pastries Yoghurts etc plus the usual fare of the Full English breakfast.
Waiting staff polite friendly and helpful.
Our whole group booked the sauna steam room Jacuzzi and pool and it was top notch.
Very clean and tidy changing rooms.
Was expecting a great stay BUT easy mistakes tainted our visit.

Dear wba5dingles1 Many thanks for your recent post, though I was disappointed to learn of the issues you and your friends experienced. If there are any points, which my colleagues haven't resolved, please ask them to reach out to me matthew.ward@stourportmanorhotel.co.uk It is worth mentioning for anyone reading, that room prices do vary (even for the same room type), based upon demand (i.e. the earlier people book, often the cheaper. Also the best prices are always available when booking directly with us and not through a third party. Finally when booking an event (such as a wedding), we will offer a discounted rate for an initial booking period. Again, should anyone have any Qs please feel free to reach out to me at the email address provided above Thank you once again Yours sincerely Matt Ward General Manager

Hello,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel. Firstly, the key card for room 49 did not work, and I had to return to the reception to get a new one. In room 66, the bathroom door handle was broken, the toilet did not work, there was no cold water from the tap, and the shower was not functioning. Additionally, the bathroom fan was extremely noisy.
I discovered all these issues at 10:59 this morning. Eleven minutes later, I went to the reception to report them, only to be told that I should have reported these issues immediately and that nothing could be done now. The receptionist was completely inattentive and did not offer any solution to the situation. When I requested a refund, I was informed that it was not possible because I did not report the issues immediately.
Is reporting a problem 11 minutes after discovering it not considered "immediate"? What is the time limit for an immediate report? The receptionist was absolutely unhelpful and made no effort to resolve the situation.
This year, I have stayed in 63 hotels, and I can unequivocally state that your hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in. Even guest houses with shared bathrooms offer a higher standard (at least you can use the bathroom). Your hotel staff are the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with. It would have been enough to admit that these issues were discovered yesterday and reported to maintenance by housekeeping, but someone at reception failed to mark the room as "non-service."
My employees spent over 700 nights in hotels across the UK last year, and after hearing this story, we unanimously agree that your hotel is the biggest failure in this industry in this country. You represent no level of standard or quality. The service is below criticism. I will definitely advise against staying at your establishment.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at our hotel. We deeply regret to hear about the multiple issues you encountered and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We are truly sorry to learn that the key card for room 49 did not work and that you experienced numerous problems in room 66, including the broken bathroom door handle, non-functioning toilet, lack of cold water, malfunctioning shower, and noisy bathroom fan. These issues are far below our usual standards, and we apologize for the discomfort they caused. Regarding the timing of your report, we acknowledge that you discovered these issues at 10:59 AM and reported them to the reception eleven minutes later. We assure you that this should indeed be considered an immediate report, and we regret any misunderstanding or miscommunication from our staff on this matter. We apologize for the inattentiveness and lack of assistance from our receptionist. This does not reflect the level of service we strive to provide. Please be assured that we are taking your feedback seriously and will address this with the staff involved to prevent similar situations in the future. As part of our commitment to resolving this matter, we offered to change your room, but we understand that you declined this offer as you were departing the room same time when these issue were raised at reception. Additionally, we are conducting a thorough investigation to address all the issues you mentioned. We deeply regret that your experience with us has led to such a negative perception of our hotel. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our services and facilities. We hope to have the opportunity to restore your faith in our hotel and provide you with a much improved experience in the future. Kind Regards, Manu Thomas Duty Manager

Do not visit here! We paid a lot of money to have a family Christmas Day meal here, on arrival we were offered arrival drinks, empty glasses were waiting for us. When we were eventually showed to our table the waitress told us she was under a lot of pressure and was unable to take a drinks order from us but would try and get the barman to come to our table, 20 mins later we went to the bar ourselves. There were 7 crackers for 9 of us, all with the same joke and cardboard bookmark, really cheap. We were offered bread but when she got to me they had ran out so I was offered ‘the old stuff’ which was a stale sliced loaf. The starter was a cold watery soup, the main was such a joke, the pigs in blankets were raw, some of us had 2 carrots some had 4. A glass of wine should have been included in the meal which we had paid for but never got. Overall it was such a poor experience, when we complained I was told they were understaffed but we would be welcome to come and have another meal there, I would never eat there again!

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your Christmas Day experience did not meet your expectations. We understand how important it is to have a memorable and enjoyable meal, especially during the holiday season, and we sincerely apologize for the series of issues you encountered. The lack of service upon arrival, the shortage of crackers, the quality of the bread, and the meal not being up to standard are certainly not the experience we strive to provide. We also apologize for the mix-up with the wine and the disappointing response you received when you raised your concerns. Please know that we take your feedback seriously, and we will be addressing these issues with our team to ensure this does not happen again. We would love to have the chance to restore your faith in us, but we understand your decision if you prefer not to return. If you’d like to discuss your experience further or share more details, please don't hesitate to reach out. Once again, we are truly sorry for your disappointing experience and appreciate you taking the time to share it with us. Warm Regards, Manu Thomas

I feel incredibly disappointed with my recent experience at Stourport Manor’s ‘Mamma Mia experience’. We were promised an authentic Greek meal and entertainment, but sadly, the event was a total sham from start to finish.
The hotel itself is a grim environment; it’s a run down and dated building that needs a lot of TLC.
Drinks were served on arrival and tasted like a concoction you should only be able to buy from a chemist. The drinks being served at the bar were incredibly expensive and when I ordered one, it was given to me with a dead fly floating in the glass. I passed it back to the bar and it was replaced, however it was surprising that it was served that way in the first place.
The appetiser was served on a small silver tray for the entire table to share. It was incredibly underwhelming and consisted of stale bread, dried tomatoes, olives and a tiny amount of very unpleasant dips. The main course of chicken souvlaki was literally just two boiled potatoes with a chicken breast thrown on top. It was very dry and lacked any taste. The dessert, baklava, was so hard it could probably be used to build a house with. It was completely inedible.
The entertainment was anything but entertaining. It was ill thought out and very poor quality. What was supposed to be a Mamma Mia tribute was more like amateur hour.
To top it all off, me and my friends were approached by a heavily intoxicated man who, completely unprovoked, shouted at us, swore at us and made threats to us. This was witnessed by staff who chose not to intervene. As a group of young women, we were left to feel incredibly intimidated and vulnerable. I raised a complaint with who I was told was the manager of the evening and he offered no resolution. He asked me to email the complaint over the following day. I have since done this but haven’t yet received any response.
It was apparent that other guests felt similarly, which in turn, created a very sombre atmosphere. Numerous people spoke of their dissatisfaction and disappointment. It was an awful night all round. For £35pp, we expected more.

Dear Guest, We are sorry to see you didn't enjoy your experience with us on this occasion. But we take all feedback on board so we can hope to improve our events so that they are enjoyable for every one. We will pass on your feedback in regards to the food that was served this evening as we can only hope to make this better for future evenings and I'm sure the kitchen team would like to know how and where they can improve. We will also talk to our serving staff as to be approached by some one who is intoxicated and making you feel uncomfortable is not something we would want any one to feel while they are here to enjoy their own evenings. We will make sure to put extra training in place so staff are aware of saying no to customers who are appearing to be too intoxicated so we can ensure this doesn't happen again. We sincerely hope that this won't effect the way our events are foreseen and we hope we get to welcome you back again so we can show you how we aim to do things going forward. Kind Regards Natalie

I'm a busy carer for my husband and 3 other family members. This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and had been happy with our previous experience when the mobility scooter could not be carried in the reception wheelchair platform as the access to our adapted wetroom was via 2 steps. See pics to show how cramped the platform is. The wheelchair goes in forwards but on opening at ground level exit is via a 90 degree angle. There was only just enough space for my husband by himself to negotiate the turn.
On our previous visit no one bothered about the need for a pat test and we charged the mobility scooter there see pic of its location. We made an effort to reverse right next to the adjoining table to allow access to the AED.
The day of our arrival after unpacking it was suggested that the scooter was moved to a site by the door where there was no plug and I explained it was not suitable as it had no plug point. I told the receptionist if they could tell me where like it moved in the public area with a plug point and we would comply. No one responded to this or even mentioned this ridiculous idea that mobility scooters are pat tested in hotels! We have stayed in numerous hotels in the UK and have charged the 2 gel batteries (20kgs each!) While in the scooter. I was asked by 3 different members of staff to remove the batteries and charge them in our room! This is impossible as they are charged via a lead on the scooter and not directly to the batteries.
The timing of the public announcement on the 2nd day, as I was on my way to our evening meal that we were not allowed to charge the batteries was very upsetting and ruined my much needed break from the busy caring I do. We had planned to have a really nice more expensive meal the last night of our stay but both felt we needed to go home early to be able to charge the scooter as we could not risk going out the next day in case the battery needed a full recharge.
My real concern for future disabled guests is that the limitations of battery charging, and most scooters not able to reach the adapted room are not mentioned on their website. See pics of the platform.
There is not even 1 seat in the reception area for someone queueing who cannot stand for long

I arrived with my family for the bonfire as fireworks experience, and we had also booked a room. Up on arriving the gentleman on reception had no recollection of ur booking a family room, and eventually found us a room after 30 min of waiting and seeing a cue of customers behind us. Myself and my son then went and paid £5 each for a swim, the pool was freezing cold and so were the showers. When the even started, by 8pm after waiting to order food for 30 min I was told there was no chips left, what kind of event was this, and on top of that the music was so loud Thr chef and his staff couldn’t hear a thing they were saying to each other, let alone people trying to shout their food orders, utter joke. By far the worst experience I have ever had regarding a hotel and an event, very very poorly organised and food was abysmal.

Hello there, We thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are also sorry to see you didn't enjoy your time with us during our event. I am glad you were able to get a room sorted for the evening but apologise for the delay in that being sorted for you as you could see we were extremely busy so we did appreciate your patience while this was being sorted out for you. We apologise for the temperature of the pool and showers, are leisure facilities are monitored by the staff who were working down there so we will ensure to follow up with them to establish why the facilities were cold as they shouldn't have been. This was our first time hosting an event this large and we are taking all of these comments on board to help with future planning of any other events we plan to host as we would like to be able to get this right for all of our guests who choose to attend. We would hope you would consider giving us another try in the future so we can show our full potential in hosting events and our capabilities of running our hotel. Kind Regards Natalie

Hello there, We thank you for taking the time to leave us this review, we apologise that this wasn't fully to the standards we expect. We will pass this onto the appropriate staff to get this looked into for all future guests. We will pass on the request of bottles of water in the rooms but it will come down to cost effectiveness in the long run, we do also sell bottles of water behind our bar at the moment so there was no reason a member of staff could not have sorted one out for you. We hope you would consider staying with us again in the future so we can show you our full expectations and offer you the stay you were expecting to have. Kindest Regards Natalie

We were guests at a family wedding at this previously well established popular hotel.
We feel that we have all been let down by the disorganisation and lack of care and attention by the hotel. The bar staff were not only rude but completely unhelpful. The bar ran out of various drinks even before the ceremony.
There was no wedding planner visible informing guests of where the ceremony was being held or the seating plan. It was left to the bridal party and the photographer to guide guests in the right direction.
Following the ceremony the WELCOME drinks were not ready for the guests and the staff did not know which drink was which. There was no alternative for the children or non drinkers and no bottles of lager available either which had been pre ordered and it was left to the groom to chase up these drinks.
There was a long delay in the serving of the food with no offer of an explanation or apology.
Once the food was finally prepared and served The waitresses appeared to be disinterested and stood leaning against the wall. They had no idea what they were serving and were telling guests, including children that one of the dishes was chicken when in fact it was fish. When they were questioned about the menu actually offered, the waitresses were not phased and just carried on, with little regards to guests requests or questions.
There was yet another delay with the desserts and again waitresses had very little knowledge about ingredients used. For someone with a nut allergy they could not confirm as to whether nuts were used in or around the chocolate brownies Again very little respect or concern was shown.
We return to the bar where the staff were not serving guests as, and I quote, “It’s not my job to serve drinks” and the Young male behind the bar continued to stand there and refused to serve.
As staff were getting prepared for the evening celebrations we were told to leave the room and take everything with us. I had purchased 4 bottles of wine for our table at the crazy cost of £25 each and was told to take them with me as if I left them on the table they would dispose of them. The bottles of wine were not finished and in fact 2 were still sealed. The bar staff were not willing to put them behind the bar for me so I left them on the side near to the bar
We then move on to the evening reception, where we were faced with yet more disappointment.
Drinks were not being served because the bar had run out of ingredients, glasses were not being collected so staff were running out of glasses. The evening food was being served outside but no one had officially informed the guests. Once word of mouth had spread we headed outside for wha
A glass had accidently been dropped on the floor, and the staff gave me a dustpan and brush and I swept up the glass.
Overall the whole day seemed to have hiccups along the way. It was
Such a shame for the bride and groom, who had clearly paid a lot of money for this venue and had the hassle of sorting issues out themselves
Overall it was a lovely day however staff at the hotel did not help with any issues and management were extremely unprofessional and unhelpful too.
Please really consider your options before booking a large event.
