We had booked a reservation at Bury Pilsworth, Travelodge for two people. Upon entering the room, we were disgusted at the state we found the room in. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months. There were visible patches of dirt throughout the room, including on the carpet whilst the surfaces were full of dust and grime and clearly hadn't been cleaned. The radiator was discoloured with ingrained dirt. The bathroom was covered in mould, there was ingrained dirt and mould through the tiling grout and the shower curtain had clearly not been changed in over a decade judging by the mould spores and the discolouration of the shower curtain. Wre spoke to reception and explained that the room was unacceptable. The receptionist was most unhelpful with an extremely rude and aggressive manner. She told her there was nothing that she could do and didn't offer an alternative room, she initially stated we could move to another hotel but then said this option wasn't available. We spent over half an hour requesting a separate (CLEAN) room to no avail. We instead requested a refund and once again the member of staff refused saying this wasn't in her power. We have now left the hotel and have no intention in staying in a place with such poor cleaning and maintenance practices during a pandemic. Rival hotels such as Premier Inn, Holiday Inn and Hampton by Hilton have clear cleaning protocols. None of this has clearly been implemented at the Travelodge Pilsworth. One of us is clinically vulnerable and needs and expects to stay in a clean room. Travelodge refused to provide this and are now refusing us a refund despite us not even staying in the room.

Room Tip: Don't, go anywhere but here. A tent in the field opposite would be cleaner
