We booked this holiday 2 days before actually arriving after having to cancel Malta then a caravan site in Essex due to being in tier 3. We were only allowed to holiday in our own area and I wasn't holding out much hope. I found this place as I was looking for accommodation with a hot tub so that we had something to do rather than going out to entertainment etc. It was much more expensive than we usually pay but it was very impressive. We arrived and didn't have to get out of the car to get the keys. A lovely woman gave us the key through the car window. The lodge was clean and lovely, it was well stocked and the appliances were great. The heating was good but as I like it to stay cool in the bedrooms we didn't really need to use it as there was a great little electric fire in the living area, we just put that on if it was ever chilly and it was really effective. The hot tub was checked every morning and we went in it every day even when it was pouring down with rain. There is a lovely walk by the river which we really enjoyed. Obviously the site was right by Dovestone Reservoir and we walked up there on the first weekend. It was absolutely rammed, people were queuing up to get into the car park. We decided to go on a different walk that day due to how busy it was. We went back during the week and had one of the most beautiful walks we have ever been on. The two things I would have liked to have changed, would have been to turn the hot tub temperature down slightly as it was very hot so I couldn't stay in there as long as I would have liked 😂. Also the mattresses were hard and we could feel the springs, maybe just a thick mattress topper could sort that out? I highly recommend this holiday park, it is quiet and relaxing and we would return. …
Just had a long weekend at dovestone holiday park in a pod. Great accommodation and facilities, our pod was facing the pond. We had our own patio and bbq in front of the pod with picnic bench. The scenery is stunning around the park and there are plenty of places to walk. Great weather all weekend and the security is excellent.
Just returned from a weekend here and it was a lovely break with the family. We had a lodge with hot tub which was clean and well equipped. The beds weren’t very comfortable but I find they never are so no different to other places! A really quiet site that’s well kept and close to amenities. A walk around the reservoir is a must x
My son and I enjoyed a lovely 4 night break (Monday to Friday) at Dovestone. The pods were lovely and clean and the beds were comfy. Outside we had a BBQ which we used a couple of times as well as a picnic bench to sit and eat at. The grounds of the park are beautifully kept and there is a little lake you can see from the pods. In the evening my son really enjoyed chatting and talking to the other children. There was such a lovely atmosphere and everyone was so friendly. We walked round the reservoir a couple of times and enjoyed that. We also enjoyed fish and chips from Diggle Chippy! Very tasty! All in all it was a lovely break and we will definitely come again. The lodges looked lovely too but we were more than happy in our little pod. There is a Tesco nearby for supplies and plenty of pubs in Uppermill and Greenfield. Don't hesitate to book this place - it is wonderful! …
We really enjoyed our stay at Dovestone Holiday pods. The pods had excellent showers and comfortable beds. At first I worried about where we would store everything but they have very good storage solutions in the kitchen and main bedroom. We also stored a case in the bathroom as it's so big. We requested a tap was tightened and that was done straight away. Good value for money, easy check in and good correspondence. We enjoyed sitting out on an evening, having a BBQ and speaking to the people in the neighbouring pods. All the younger children there played happily together and we found it friendly and peaceful. We completed a walk into the village for smoothies at the local health food cafe and also around the reservoir. We found all the things we needed in the local Tesco. Eating out one night was tricky due to the government eat out scheme which meant everywhere was fully booked and places stop food by 8pm so do book in advance. I had wondered about bringing an extension lead for charging our 4 phones but we found plenty of spare sockets. We liked the position of our pod (17) as although it was not lakeside we liked the fact it was set back and no one went behind it, we could perfectly see the lake anyway. Couldn't pick up any wifi (this was expected) but could get 4g just in the doorway of the pod. We would return and had considered paying to upgrade to a lodge, we were happy we stuck with the pods though. It would be great to see a few pods with hot tubs though in the future. …
