This family owned and run hotel offers the personal touch for guests staying away from home.Our immaculately clean bedrooms most with kingsize beds are en-suite with flat screen TV, a selection of toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities, room door spy hole for security, trouser press, hair-dryer, iron and free wi-fi internet access. Our full English breakfasts are freshly cooked to order with waitress service. There is ample free car parking, and the bar also serves drinks teas, coffees and bar snacks. Our restaurant offers a wide choice of fixed and individually priced menus throughout the week including Business Lunches, Sunday Lunch, Open Dining, A La Carte, and Resident's Menus, together with a superb wine list. This is also the ideal venue for that special occasion including birthdays, anniversaries, family parties, christenings as well as being a wedding venue. There is a variety of menus to suit every occasion and we can also cater for conferences in our fully self-contained Cortona Suite and funerals for which we have a selection of buffet menus available. We have been to the restaurant twice in the last couple of months for funerals for family members and I cannot fault the customer service we have received from callum from the booking right through to leaving the Wycliffe I couldn’t recommend this place more for a function the food was amazing and the place was so clean and all the staff was so friendly!

We have used this hotel often over past years, but it now has new owners. The experience was disappointing to say the least. The once lovely English breakfast has gone, replaced by toast and jam with pastries. We were told there would be no more wines etc. available. We were thinking of a family dinner there, but soon changed our plans. We will not be using it again.

It seems that this hotel has changed hands recently and we were disappointed that much of the menu was not now available due to a mixture of lack of basic ingredients and a decision to no longer serve any form of pork. The hotel no longer offers a cooked breakfast which was not made clear when we booked. Our room was clean and the staff were friendly.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn’t be faulted. However, we booked for dinner as well because of the convenience and ‘rave’ reviews. Unfortunately, we were let down with the food. Our main was fish and vegetables and all were over cooked. The starter was bland and lacking flavour. The only course that was palatable was the pudding. Again, the waiter could not have been more helpful and friendly….but clearly the chef needs an updated refresher course..particularly when cooking vegetables. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special.

A lovely hotel with amazing staff. Plenty of parking. There had been a problem with my booking, receptionsorted it all out for me. Room spotless. Breakfast excellent. Front of house all really friendly & helpfull. Would definately return if I'm in that part of the country again.

Regularly staying at a hotel when out for business, one tends to get used to the new 'normal'. This hotel, not my usual in Stockport, has bowled me over. Friendly, personal service is not something I would normally get at my 'regular' hotel. It's more focussed on a rush to get you away from the check-in desk! The restaurant (which beats any I have been to in Stockport), which is conveniently located on the premises, is well above the general standard and well worth a visit. This is my new 'usual' hotel!

We stayed at this family run hotel for four nights last week. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, the inclusion of a small ironing-board and iron was a thoughtful touch. The hotel has a fantastic restuarant with an impressive Italian-influenced menu with food prepared by an Italian/French chef who clearly prides himself on using fresh produce. Besides the extensive à la carte menu there is a three course multi choice menu for £25. However what made our stay particularly enjoyable was the small team of friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us and who delivered a level of service you rarely get from the large chains these days. This place is a real gem and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Had a one night stay whilst attending a family wedding nearby. A comfortable room, friendly staff and an excellent breakfast in the morning. Dining was available on the evening but we couldn’t attend. There was some noise from the aircraft overhead using the nearby airport but it didn’t disturb us. A pleasant experience and we would use this hotel again.

The food at this establishment if out of this world. We had a fabulous meal in the evening and breakfast the following morning was a treat. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the accommodation is very comfortable. I treated my husband to this trip for his birthday and it could not have been better. Outstanding. We loved our stay. Would recommend this hotel and will stay again.

We attended the Italian inspired gourmet dinner at The Wycliffe. As always the food was outstanding, with perfectly paired wines and wonderful service. We opted to stay over as there was a lot of wine consumed and the hotel room was clean, comfortable and well equipped for everything that we needed. Recommended!
