Expect this and you won't be disappointed. We had a great evening, a birthday function, we pre ordered a cake and had with tea when we arrived. I read the review by the lady who expected the cake without ordering and I don't think her expectations were fair. if you want a cake tell the restaurant and expect to pay...

My husband and I recently stayed overnight for a private evening function. The accommodation in the Furleigh Cottages was excellent and from our outside terrace we had a lawn leading down to the Thames. The hotel itself was charming with beautiful gardens and lawns also leading down to the Thames. The service was impeccable as was the gourmet dinner with...

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the French Horn a couple of years ago and decided to return for my birthday this year. I mentioned when I booked that we would be celebrating my birthday. The first red flag came when the hotel refused to honour the price of the special offer on its website - not...

This offer was too good to be true but true it was. £245 for a room for two, plus dinner the night before and breakfast the morning after. We were upgraded to a suite which made the deal even better! For dinner we could have anything on the a la carte menu except the caviar! We did alright! I had...

A relatively expensive hotel which just doesn't meet high expectations. Although the staff are very friendly and polite the rooms and decor is overly cluttered and in desperate need of refurbishment. The restaurant meal was good, staff excellent and attentive. The French Horn obviously trades on its reputation for the restaurant and as many fellow critiques have said, it is...

It would be so easy to completely miss the the whole point of the French Horn. It is England straight out of Wind in the Willows and Jeeves and Wooster! Both Staff and Guests are impeccably mannered and similarly disported, the food is rich, sensuous and beautifully presented and far too polite to ravage ones tastebuds, The dining is accompanied...

This is a relatively expensive hotel , better put as daylight robbery. We went to the Mill at Sonning to see the Hollow by Agatha Christie. We asked for tea making facilities in the room at 5:15 we had to leave at 6:00 no sign of the tea making facilities - it had arrived when we got back at 11:00....

We have eaten at The French Horn a few times and have always had an excellent experience. It tends to be our favourite venue if anyone in the family is celebrating. As my son has recently passed his finals, it was decided to pay the French Horn another visit although this time as a special treat we stayed at the...

Thoroughly impressed with the French Horn as always it is a smooth, slick and well oiled dining experience. The menu was first class as always and the smell of duck roasting on the open fire is always enough to start you salivating before dinner. I had the melon with chilled white port followed by the chump of lamb and I...
