Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We only stayed here one night as we were seeing family. We managed to check in earlier and it was straight forward sorting the parking out in the streets. A virtual pass was given to take away any stress! The room itself was great value for money and had everything you needed. The bed itself was super comfy and we had a very good night sleep. We were allotted a time for breakfast but it was a reasonable time and it meant we could have breakfast as a family and it allowed the food to be cooked to perfection and Barbara the host was extremely friendly and welcoming and she was great with my 5 year old son. Anyone that has tickets for the Bridlington Spa to see a show should book in here as it is right opposite the venue and you won't find anywhere cheaper. All in all I would be super happy to return here again should I travel to the coast and look forward to being somewhere where it is a home away from home.

Lovely stay overnight at Spa View. Travelled with best friend to watch a show at The Spa, which is literally a stones throw from the guesthouse. Mike, who runs the guesthouse, is affable and professional, giving us great advice as to where to visit for eating and drinking. Great comfy room with all amenities. Only problem was noise of extractor fan in shower room. Breakfast was just fabulous. We will be back!

As soon as we walked through the door Babs welcomed us with open arms, I have never felt so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble, gorgeous room and fabulous view. We visit Bridlington every year and have now found our favorite bed and breakfast and will definitely be going back next year! A special mention to the lovely 2 young girls helping babs, you were fantastic and Eliza loved you serving her breakfast in the mornings, brilliant breakfast! Can not fault this bed and breakfast at all, enjoy your break babs xxx

Early call at 9.38am from Barbara asking what time we was coming as she needed us to check in early so she could go shopping!
Cigarettes all over and overflowing out of butt bin! Gross! 1st impressions and all that!
Mix up with room! Paid cash as said it was best.
Parked on the front was told was for family and friends but allowed another set of guest to park ie regulars!
Was told she wasn't doing everyone's breakfast at same time as she's stressed and on her own wanted us down 830am said no 930am
Told coffee tray not done she didn't think if we wanted it to come down!
Asked if walked on beach to take shoes off but I wasn't taking my shoes off the carpet is minging!
Previous guest had left sand and she wasn't happy cleaning up! Which was apparent!
Room! Stains on headboard,Pillows smelt of smoke, sofa bed arm completely broken off, bathroom around shower black mould, fire place full of dust that thick previous occupants wrote date in it! Mattress was diabolical we slept on springs as for the view disgusting dirty backyard full of rubbish!
We chucked our bags in went out for the day n came back for 715pm to head out for a table booked at 8pm to be in there as little as possible came back at 11pm used dressing gown to sleep on! Got up early n left didn't want to eat the rooms were that dirty I couldn't stomach the thought of the kitchen!
Booked multiple rooms at various locations on booking.com and this has to be the absolute worst!
The pictures do NOT match the rooms as they are now.
Barbara at Spaview offered a full refund on booking.com I'm still waiting on this.
Pictures of room and emails as proof. Very disappointed!

I had to put a star as there is not one saying minus star.
Dirty window ledge full of dead flies and so dirty the dust had been there that long it had gone black.
One side of a curtain you pulled to cover the whole window unbelievable you have to laugh I paid good money for this accommodation.
Hair clips left on the side.
The best one is the owners are so lazy they leave the toilet roll at the bottom of the stairs for you to take up to your room as they can'tbe bothered.
Room was never cleaned the whole time we was there.
I left early terrible, terrible, terrible.

We have just returned from an Easter visit to Bridlington. From the moment we arrived at the Spaview we were made to feel most welcome. Mike checked us in, and was chatty and friendly. Babs was an absolute delight, and made our visit complete! The room was clean and comfortable, and the sea view from the dining room was spectacular. It was lovely to eat our delicious and hearty breakfast, watching the sun shine on the waves, and chatting with the friendly b and b ladies. Highly recommended!

Mike and Barbera were extremely friendly and accommodating, and made us feel very welcome. Mike helped my disabled sister up the stairs to our room and was very patient as it took a few minutes. We had booked sea view rooms and the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the bed was super comfy. The location was ideal for us as it is directly opposite the Spa which we were going to the night of our stay. The breakfast, cooked by the lovely Barbera was plentiful and very nice, just the ticket after a night out!

Spent last weekend at the Spa View and it was lovely. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was nicer than our bed at home. Free parking and the location was perfect for our gig at Bridlington Spa as it is exactly opposite it. The owners are really helpful and friendly and make you feel at home. The breakfast was in my view perfect nice and warm and quality produce. We'll done keep up the good work and we will definitely be staying with you again. Thanks from Barnsley x

The lighting in the room was so dim I couldn't see to put my make up on.The bulb on the bathroom mirror was out and when I informed the landlady I was told it had been out for years and as she had sold the place she wasn't spending any money on it.
The Saturday night was shocking all the hotel was woken up at 4am Sunday morning with extremely loud banging on the door and shouting.
It was the landlady who was very drunk, her words not mine ,she was locked out and needed to be let in.To add insult to injury the next morning instead of getting an apology we the guests were accused of locking her out.
Would we stay again, when he'll freezes over

We stayed for 2 nights in August, on a last minute decision. Owner is very friendly and room was tidy and had everything we needed. The bathroom was much bigger than expected and had a powerful shower which was a nice surprise.
The breakfast was good and served in the front room which looks out to the spa. Location was perfect we had all we needed on the doorstep and managed to park nearby for the duration of our stay. We will definitely stay here again and hopefully get a front room with the views
