Booked for two night stay as a key worker, a single room was £40 for bed and breakfast. Excellent value.

I Read the reviews after
Booking and was worried none the less no where else available in area so thought I’d make my own mind up ....... glad I did as upon arrival I was absolutely gob smacked as the hotel has new managers and was the complete opposite of the negative comments in here.

It’s is an Immaculately Clean hotel on the outside with ample parking. Tony was painting the fencing when I arrived. Everywhere is having an update and freshen up.

The New managers tony and Christine welcomed me at check in and were genuine and lovely with a great passion for their business.

My Room was a great size for a single, bed comfy and again spotless clean. Full length
Mirror, plenty of coat hangers for clothes and a nice view. Shower was fab no messing around with temperature settings hot throughout.

I had an evening meal which was home cooked to order both nights hunters chicken then fish and chips. The food alongside the breakfast was all fresh and top quality produce. Christine is an excellent cook, just be aware big portions excellent value for money.

The hotel as I say is clean with a nice feeling about it. I was able to relax after a couple of busy days working and got two great nights sleeps.

All credit to tony and Christine for making my stay so enjoyable.

Stayed with family and friends for a long weekend away. From arriving Thursday to leaving Sunday everything fantastic, evening meal, breakfast, rooms, service, and the added extra the pool and leisure facilities next door. The landlord and landlady made us feel comfortable and couldn't do enough for us even had a laugh and joke with the children, nothing was ever too much trouble.
We would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thankyou for a brilliant visit. Parkinson and Jackson family.

We parked for the night in our campervan, we were made very welcome, parked for free in large car park. For a small charge you can use the swimming pool and spa facilities. Food was excellent, great choice on the menu. Staff very friendly great location for the coast of Bridlington.

We arrived after a long journey tired and hungry, eager to rest, refresh and eat. We entered the hotel and the bar where we were told to wait at a reception area. The landlord/manager met us both where he proceeded to book us in, (payment up front for two nights, which I didn’t really like doing), I enquired about an evening meal whereupon, I was told to hold my horses (which didn’t come across as a joke but more intimidating to two hungry traveler‘s). We were then taken to our room with a full explanation of do’s and don’t’s, evening meal and breakfast etc (Covid rules were in force and enforced).
The room was clean with tea and coffee provided, clean sheets and bath towels. The bed was comfy and the room quite basic. The wardrobe was nonexistent it was a shelf with a pole underneath and three coat hangers. The shower tray was blocked and couldn’t cope with the volume of water.
After we had rest and refreshed, we went down to the bar area where we were told a meal would be served. We entered the bar and sat at a table as per instructions, this was at 7.10pm and we had been told food stops at 8pm. So we waited and waited and then it was 7.30pm and not even an acknowledgement was given that we were sat there still waiting, so we left and found a great little restaurant attached to a hotel a simple 5 minute walk away from where we were staying.
Next day, we were up early as breakfast was between 8 and 9, and we proceeded to have cereal rather than a cooked breakfast (as we had a lot to cram in that day). Yet the cooked breakfast appeared without even being ordered nor any dietary requirements had been asked, so i turned it away, yet behind us another couple had been waiting and had not yet ordered anything , so I went to the kitchen area to inform the staff, the couple then were given breakfast who then thanked me.
I did also notice that the sauce bottles had dried food on some of them, which was a little off putting.
That evening we chose to eat elsewhere.
The next day we both had a cooked breakfast which was nice enough and the staff were pleasant, yet a little bit disturbing hearing them discussing in the kitchen how one visitor needed “knocking out”.
At times it felt as though it was a bit of a hassle for the staff and inconvenience that we were there.
It’s a shame because I felt they we’re under staffed so therefore under a lot of pressure.
I spoke with some other couples who felt the same as we did, in that it was an all round disappointment and a shame that a friendly, professional and approachable atmosphere was lacking, therefore unfortunately I would not recommend a stay here nor shall I ever return.

Due to Covid we decided to stay near home (Leeds) so booked 4 nights in the Fern Farm Hotel. The place had good points, but quite a few bad. The hotel looks really inviting from the website (as always only the best points) Upon arrival we were seen, (not greeted by the manager (I think he only owns one pair of shorts and one t shirt) he took money in full........Then gave us the key and told us breakfast 8 - 9 use it or lose it! We were in room 2 (keep clear) it's above the kitchen so smells along with the constant noise of the extractor system. The room is a good size and ok for what we paid. Although as many people say, wardrobe non existent just a pole with 2 hangers. Hot water is a problem on both shower and taps. Your skin either melts of your body or you freeze on the spot. We only had breakfast in the hotel as this did not warrant paying for an evening meal (it maybe ok) Cereal, juice and cooked breakfast. It was ok but not great (1 sausage, 1 bacon, egg, beans and Tom) coffee was a big let down, instant make your own from a jar (Never have I had instant coffee in a hotel) In truth were were ready to leave after the 3rd day. but the weather was good for the beach. The best part is the leisure facility which is run separate. This is a fab place. If you speak with Paul, he is great. Shame he does not run the pub/hotel........If the hotel read this, my advice is engage your customers! A morning or hello works wonders.

We recently stayed at the Fern Farms for one night, the hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable but unfortunately it was a Sunday and when we checked in we were informed that there is no food served after 4pm and the bar closes at 6pm! The website does state Sunday Lunch 12-4pm but it doesn't state that there is no food served after 4pm or that the bar closes at 6pm! We had read the reviews that food was excellent but we can't comment on that as it wasn't available. The Hotel is 2.7 miles from Bridlington and this was the nearest pub/restaurant to the hotel. If you are thinking of staying here DO NOT STAY ON A SUNDAY! I may have given a better review had we stayed on another night.

visited here for a meal with my sisters, as 1 of my sisters had been previously for food. As we got there we asked for a drink first outside and if we could set up a tab at the bar to which the landlord said yes not a problem. We were then asked to order as soon as possible due to other customers ordering food.
We did this and was shown to the table where we had our meals which were mediocre! When we finished we ordered another drink and sat outside. I then went to the bar to pay our bill which came in at a lot more than we had thought (it was also the help to eat out scheme) so I went through the reciept with my sister only to see we had been over charged on our drinks, in total we had 7 pints of lager and they had charged us 8 and half pints, which at £4.75 a pint is not cheap! I then went back into the bar to speak to the landlord again about the bill, his reply " it is right, its always right, I will find the tab that I have wrote on and show you that I am right". At this point there were other customers at the bar, so he said you will have to wait until I have served these people. So I waited and while he was serving customers was saying "ill be with you shortly just have to sort this tab out as the customer thinks I am wrong! After serving the customers he found out the crumpled up handwritten tab and quickly showed me and crossed them all off while going down what we had. I said we have had 7 pints altogether and you are trying to charge me for 8 and a half which isn't right, he then gave me £2 back and said there take that then! I said this still isn't right he said well that's all you are getting so..... at this point I asked him to look at my reciept again to which he replied " no I have looked at it with you and I am never wrong, that is what you have had and thats that" I said it isn't what we have had, his response " I suggest in future dont take out a tab".
I then replied dont worry I won't need to because I won't be coming back, he never replied and we left.
Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a landlord, will not be returning and will be spreading the word!!

All I can say was we should have walked out as soon as we arrived , but as it was a special occasion we thought we would give it a go . The owner welcomed us by telling us that their dog friendly hotel was no longer dog friendly but he would “honour “ the booking , we felt completely unwelcome .
The bedroom although clean was small and the tap in the bathroom spun all the way round , the shower had a leak so the water pressure was terrible! They lock all the doors when the pub closes until 9am in the morning , so there is nowhere to go but sit outside . Breakfast was 9-10 am ?you are not asked what you want just given the cheapest breakfast you can imagine , don’t think the sausage had ever seen a pig .
The food in the pub was okay but nothing special and who sells INSTANT coffee and charges £2 for it ?? Everything was so cheep and it gives you the impression things are a lot better quality. We left after 1 night , of what was suppose to be a 3night stay . Don’t want anyone else to be disappointed

What an experience this place really is!
After reading some of the other reviews below going back to last year and can really understand what the other guests meant by Rude and the fact that when they are replying to the reviews they are doing so with an argumentative manner says it all about the kind of people that run this place.
We went in for lunch and was greeted by a very rude man (thinking back i can only assume he took a dislike to me and my family)
Upon being seating myself and partner went to the bar to purchase drinks we was quite surprised that a very young girl 14/15 was serving the drinks, i apologised and said sorry to be a pain but could have i have some more ice.. to be told "yeah you are a pain" we didn't say anything and just went back to our table.
He then came over to take the food order my sister enquired if she could change the prawn sandwich into a baguette as there was other baguettes on the menu.. his response" does it say baguette?" she stated that it was a sandwich his reply" well that's what you will get"
thinking back again at that point we should have just left, we noted that the cutlery wasn't wrapped, condiments on tables being passed around, not great given the current COVID-19 situation.
The food came.. fresh home cooked food most defiantly a fib!
my daughter was presented with 4 chicken nuggets so over cooked the filling was so no longer edible along with some peas and maybe 8 chips, I knew this wouldn't be enough to fill her so politely asked if i could order a portion of chips i was just ignored so again i asked, it looked like he just shock his head as he walked off, he then returned sometime later and instead of addressing me addressed my 12 year old daughter "chips are ordered, you'll get them when they are ready but we are busy severing them people"
Enough was enough for me at this point, i told him that his customer service was appalling to get of reply of "great thanks" i then explained that i no longer wanted the chips nor would i be eating my meal as it was not great, he quickly started lifting played from the table and taking them away while shouting at us.
We decided that the rest of the family would leave their meals as we felt like he was becoming very hostile, as we was leaving with 4 children in tow aged 4-12 he started shouting at us to leave.
The bill as £98.00 this was for 9 meals and 2 rounds of drinks, as all meals had been left and the second round of drinks had not been touched we offered him £60 which we left on the bar.
Avoid this place at all costs. I will image that it will be ran into the ground as that man whom I now believe to be the owner is the rudest man i have ever come across and should not work with the public and certainly not in the hospitality sector.
I would say that i am looking forward to the response but as i stated at the beginning he has not customer care skills and previous responses clearly show this.
It was later that night while at home we realised he also took no contact details for track and trace

First impressions when we pulled up was very positive, however this changed very quickly.
Lady on bar not welcoming. Guy who did check in just wanted to take the mick out of people's names (don't think he had ever heard of GDPR aswas happy to share other guests names that were checking in. We were showed to our room which was basic but seemed ok for the one night.
We went down to get a drink and asked it we could sit outside. As per covid restrictions we expected table service but this did not seem the case for other customers. Face mask rules weren't imposed. We decided at this point not to eat our evening meal here so went into Bridlington.
In the morning we wanted a shower but the sower just gushed everywhere and also the tap leaked. Decided then it best to use bath but struggled to get hot water. Also while using bathroom became aware of how dirty the bathroom actually was. Breakfast was terrible. We weren't asked what we wanted we just had a plate dropped in front of us with one egg, sausage, bacon hash brown and beans and tomatoes....Good job we weren't vegetarian. There was no atmosphere at breakfast just silence (radio in background would have been better) the guy from check in made no attempt to make conversation or ask how our stay was. The dining area was freezing with air con on full blast. Would not recommend especially as they had nothing in place for covid restriction other than posters everywhere which is no good if they aren't going to action it. I'm sure you can find something much better for the price!!
