Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had another lovely stay at this first class guest house. It is in a very good location and free parking comes with the booking too which is great. The hosts are very welcoming and they ensure you have everything you need.
The en-suite rooms are decorated and furnished beautifully, spotlessly clean with comfy beds and a large shower room and tea/coffee/biscuits topped up daily. The full English breakfast is excellent with a good choice of fruit juices, cereal, fresh fruit and yogurts too.
We hope to be returning again soon and wouldn't look for anywhere else to stay as this guest house has everything we need. Lynn and Alan

Once again a big thank you to Kim and Rick for another fabulous stay we all had a fantastic time. This is our fourth visit to their wonderful hotel and we will be BACK. Breakfast is delicious as always plenty of choice with top quality ingredients rooms are lovely and clean with everything you need. It must be difficult for them in this situation that were all in at the minute but they are very professional in setting the guidelines for us to follow to stay safe. See you both again soon Paula,David,Karen and Ken xx

The Ashford is a lovely guest house. Kim and Rick and excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. The guest hotel is exceptionally clean and comfortable with all the rooms themed to give a great feeling of individuality. The breakfast was very well cooked and was very tasty with a good variety of options. The location is great for the sea front and nice and quiet at night .Parking outside was very easy. We would certainly recommend the Ashford to fellow travellers and we are looking forward to staying again next year.

Ashford house is a nice comfortable guest house, recently modernised but still retains a lot of the old charm and features .It is located mid way between the north beach and the harbour a short four minute walk takes you onto the north shore promenade, were you have some lovely views over Flamborough, the harbour and south shore. Our room was the Italian theme room on the first floor level with en suite and tea and coffee making facilities . This is nice room which was kempt very tidy for us through out our stay . Other rooms have different themes including the African , Paris and London. Some lovely walks from the guest house up to the north shore or further along the cliffs to Sowerby about three miles there and back or head south to explore the harbour and south shore . If you dont feel energetic take the land train from outside the leisure centre up to Sowerby, seven pound return for two adults .Sowerby is well worth a visit The harbour is a working harbour and leisure boat trips can be had for fishing or just a cruise on the Yorkshire belle. It was lovely to sit on the harbour in the evening and watch the trawlers unload the days catch . Round the harbour many eating places and a theme park ride for young and old. You can pick the time you want breakfast Breakfast is lovely choice off juices , cereals and yogurts and the full English which is excellent, be prepared to undo the button . From booking our break with Ricki and Kim we were made to feel very welcome from the start to finish, nothing is to much trouble they are very helpful and go out of there way to have a chat and make you feel welcome . We would very much recommend the Ashford guest house to anyone wanting a short break or longer . Thank you Ricki and Kim hope to see you soon,

Reading through all the reviews i am so shocked at the negative review! If your wanting a chef standard breakie then get to Premier Inn, Which i can assure you is not a nice breakfast compared to Kim & Ricks. Some snobs that are wanting Hilton Hotel should go there where as myself & partner were looking for a warm, welcoming and comfortable place to stay and not far from the city center or the beaches.

We certainly got just that! Kim messaged us prior to arrival to ensure she was around to welcome us, she simply couldn't of done enough for us. The room was warm, very clean, modern and some pretty good taste of decor too!
Being a smoker staying in a non-smoking guest house was the same rules as my own, i was not felt or treat differently of pleasing myself to smoke outside of the garden out of respect and returning into the house. There is a huge selection of DVD's to choose from when you wanting to dewind at night which i also thought was very homely.

We were very impressed with the breakfast, I did expect the average guest house frozen sausage and quality food, Instead all the fruit & yoghurt was fresh, Many options of cereals, The cooked breakfast was absolutely lovely and filled us up for most of the day ahead! Great serving from Rick and courtesy of popping in to see if all was ok and if needed anything.

With being a regular visitor to Brid i now know where i certainly will be staying and will be looking forward to it and recommending it to family and friends too.
Car parking space and validated was great. Really did feel at home here. Huge appreciation to both Kim & Rick xx

Stayed in many a Guest house on our travels but Ashford house is up there with the best of them. The bedroom was a themed one with London being the main theme but very tastefully done. A large room with seating area with black out vertical blinds and curtains and a sea view made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with toiletries and large bath towels. Tea and coffee making facilities were also provided. The breakfast was something else with sausage bacon mushrooms tomatoes egg hashbrowns toast and black pudding cooked to perfection, one of the best breakfasts i have had anywhere Rick and Kim could not have been better host's. Friendly and chatty and couldn't do enough for us even putting an extra black pudding on my plate as Rick knew I liked them. All this with Covid precautions in place. This should be a 5 star Guest house in our opinion. Book it you won't be disappointed. Many thanks Rick and Kim.

My fiancée and I are just back from a short break here at Ashford House Guest House.
We really enjoyed our short stay and was very well looked after.
We were on the top floor in a lovely themed room with a Ensuite bathroom all really nicely presented , could be a problem for the more elderly but we did get one of the cheaper rooms and was just fine for us.
Close to the beach north beach and very close to the town.
We would be more than happy to recommend this Guest House and would definitely stay again

We stayed at Ashford House Guest House recently when we were house hunting in the area. The hosts Kim and Rick gave us a very warm welcome and it was reassuring to see there were covid regulations in place. Our room was very cosy and very clean with tea coffee and biscuits provided. The guest house is perfectly situated within a few minutes from the beach and town centre and there is free parking. The breakfast was superb with home made yoghurt and free range eggs - delicious. We would definitely recommend Ashford House to everyone and will be staying here again on our next house hunting trip.

I had a lovely few days away with my 6 year old son Zac. Free parking outside the property with a warm welcome from Kim. Really comfy bed and excellent breakfast and only a 2 minute walk from the beach , everything in easy reach, did not use my car whilst there, north bay land time 15 min walk, arcades and rides 5 mins walk so was perfect for Zac and myself. Our room was clean, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. Zac has already asked when we can go back! To Ashford house.
