Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Never disappoints. We visit several times a year as a family. The apartments are well appointed with good quality furnishings. Staff always friendly and ready to help. Food brilliant well presented and served. Hotel is in a brilliant position.

We stayed one night here while visiting friends. The room was very dismal with no natural light and in need of refurbishment. Everything we needed was provided, with plenty of toiletries, tea, coffee etc, so no real complaints, but I thought it was a bit expensive considering the of the state of the room. One thing I will say, it was a very good breakfast, plenty of choice, good quality, and well cooked.

The staff were all extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room had a sea view with balcony, which even with the weather not being the best was still absolutely fantastic and lovely and warm. I also ate in the evening as well as breakfast and would highly recommend doing this. There is a lovely lounge to utilise with a bar which is especially welcome when the weather isn’t brilliant. I would highly recommend staying at the Expanse and look forward to staying again soon.

We stayed in one of the apartments for a 4 night break and we were enjoying it so much we stayed an extra night. Tracy on reception was brilliant at sorting this out and dealing with all our requests. She always had a welcome smile and was always courteous.

my 3 night January 'blues' breakaway turned into 'purple/black' Breakaway...First night good, great room & hotel restaurant evening meal. 2nd day.. brekkie fab but then told evening restaurant closing ...lack of guests..advised to eat MARINE BAR next door...ok fine, that would've fitted well within they're usual 'live' entertainment night. I enjoyed the Marine's roast pork dinner but was then told the entertainment was cancelled. Thursday..again evening restaurant shut & MARINE BAR closing early lacking customers..mso I had a takeaway. Overall... I feel that you SHOULDN'T EVEN OPEN MID JANUARY without all other normal services/facilities being available(restaurants/entertainment etc)...Guests like myself don't just want a bedroom. It must've cost you ££ in utilities etc.. I get that the weather/£££ times were/are difficult however I'd seriously think hard and consider closing/give staff holidays in mid January 2025...Good luck (I will return in the summer 🌞🌞🌞

Room very good no issues whatsoever. Lovely large and comfortable bed. Bathroom perfect size with bath and separate shower. Need to change the sausage at breakfast though. None of us liked the sausage.

Pleasant stay for a birthday night away for drinks and food in Bridlington. Comfortable room (room 39 on the 4th floor) Lift was super small but we are probally a bit wide lol Heating was cranked right up in the room when we got in but soon turned it down and cooled things. No scrimping on heating bills that’s for sure.. Thankful for the sea view room as it was a glorious sunny Sunday to wake up to the view. Bathroom very dates but fine and what we expected for the price right on the beach. Breakfast was adequate and I enjoyed the local farmers sausage very tasty.

Lovely accommodation but could have done with a deep clean. Maybe the turn around should be extended to allow that. Great location with plenty of room. Furnishings very nice and a well equipped kitchen. The smaller bedroom was a little cramped but adequate for a weekend stay.

Absolutely shocking place , dirty passage way totally unacceptable, skirting dirty marks on wall, dead flies on dining room window sill, breakfast was all cooked in deep fat fryers,IE bacon fried bread sausage, bedroom so cold no heater. Rung reception told would find heater ,One hour later after a putting towels over my 82year old mum it arrived, told the lady not happy,no reply 160 pound for poor hotel ,only plus nice bathroom, but even that had empty loo rolls and dirty shower ,won't be going again ,this is a genuine and honest review, massive improvement needed and good clean ,1star
