Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We went with Alfa over the Easter weekend. The hotel is in the perfect location- opposite the beach and Bridlington Spa Theatre, & 5 minutes walk to the shops. The hotel was lovely and clean and the food was always hot and tasty with plenty of choice. All the staff were so polite & friendly. Bridlington Beach has golden sands & the harbour is really interesting. You can get a little land train to Sewerby Hall on the cliffs from outside the Leisure Centre on the wharf. It takes about 15 minutes and is a bargain at £4.00 return. We didn't go into the hall but I believe it costs £12.00. Bridlington old town is about 1.5 miles from the beach area but is worth a visit. It's an old Georgian street & opposite it is the old monastery- now a church. It was closed when we were there. Regular buses go to Scarborough & Hull. Going there we were dropped off at Beverly which is a nice little place to visit. But coming back we had to spend 2 hours at York Outlet Centre to waste time as the coach couldn't get to the Interchange before 3.30pm. The coach then broke down at another stop & we had to wait for another coach to pick us up. This was done as quickly as possible, however although we loved the hotel & Bridlington, if we come back we'll travel there another way as the coach journey is too long for a short distance.

Was a really enjoyable break for us. The staff were really nice and friendly. The breakfast was very good & I opted for a sea view which was towards the harbour which was very good. The elevator was working which was brilliant as we were on the 6th floor & all the corridors very clean as was the room itself. Will be going again!

Spent the weekend here with the Royal British legion. It was for our Christmas party weekend. What can I say ,we had a ball. The staff are second to none. Namely Francesca and Alex are an absolute asset to the team. I can't forget the other staff ( but sorry don't know their names) absolutely brilliant. The young lad on the bar was fantastic . The hotel is very clean. We didn't get a refurbished room , but was still clean and comfortable. The shower was terrible but the hotel are refurbing all the bathrooms so looking forward to a great shower next year. Food was brilliant, very tasty, hot and the waiting service was very quick. I can't say enough about this hotel as mainly it was the staff that made our weekend. Can't wait to come back next year. Well done team monarch outstanding xxxx

Had a brilliant midweek break at the Monarch for a Christmas celebration with my friends. Our room was lovely with a harbour view. The food was great, our "Christmas" dinner was perfect, including my friend's vegetarian one, and the waiting on staff were lovely, especially our waiter Adriane. The entertainment was good each night so we didn't bother going out. All the staff were friendly and approachable. 2 of us have already booked for a summer break next year.

The Monarch in Bridlington is lovely, friendly staff, nice rooms. Food was lovely too but the service was excellent, not a fan of the evening entertainment so just played the bingo. We had Kevin as our driver who was fantastic as always, The day excursions were ok too and definitely a place that I would return to. Well done to Alex and all his tremendous team for a great stay. Thanks :)

Just had our motorcycle clubs annual awards dinner/dance weekend away at The Monarch hotel. We are a group of 80+ Alex, Francesca and all the team have been fantastic from start to finish right from booking and whilst we were there, nothing is to much trouble, the rooms are clean and cosy, food plentifully and entertainment as we requested. We will definitely be booking again! 😍
