Staff are very, very friendly and seem to enjoy themselves at work. This really upgrades the accommodation from neutral to above average. Special compliments to the chef. You expect an average breakfast and standard bar meals but what you get is really worth the money. The location seems a bit odd as a base for visiting London but it's in...

My partner and I have stayed here numerous times, normally we leave quite happy. It has been a couple of years since we were here last. On arrival we were left standing at check in for 10 minutes, we had rang the bell twice only to be ignored by the member of staff who was busy talking to her friends...

We had a lovely stay in room 8 which overlooked the Square, The room was warm and had a nice feel to it. It was well presented by the cleaning staff. For me part of the charm of the Anchor was it's age, old oak panels and a floor that creaks. The church clock does chime the hours, but this...

The building downstairs is nice and charming and it's set in a nice little area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but then it was cheap so adequate. The only issues were the dated/bland decor upstairs and the fact that several things in the room needed updating and cleaning better. Wouldn't stop me...

Very pleasant staff. Clean and good value for money. The room was adequate but comfortable. Reception was very helpful in dealing with queries and a minor problem. Would recommend to people looking for an inexpensive hotel in the area and would return.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to review us. Room rates can vary depending upon the level of occupancy in the area, I am dissapointed that you did not enjoy Room9 as much as Room2. Rooms at the front of the hotel were done at a different time to the ones upstairs, which are slightly larger. I have...

I stayed here over the weekend whilst visiting friends in the area. I got the friendliest welcome into the hotel, which was great after a long drive! I was informed the room I was in had a refurbished bathroom and that it was! the room was clean and fresh and the bathroom was like it had literally just been done!...
