Have been to the inn on numerous occasions we were there again . The service and food was good the staff as normal very friendly, one of the downsides was being woken at 7.0 o'clock most mornings by the builders merchants delivering the building materials. The other downside was I booked well in advance for the room only to find...

We were excited to be staying in the iconic Jamaica Inn for a ghosthunting weekend & we were not disappointed. Our room being in the modern extension was not as atmospheric as the older rooms but was very clean & comfortable with a super bathroom. Our rooms' coffee & tea tray was replenished daily too. The restaurant although mainly carvery...

This was our fourth visit to this Inn and our first since the new owner has been in place and can honestly say that this time was the best. We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 in the old part of the hotel the room was very clean and nicely decorated and we were even given a complementary bottle...

Stayed for one night in November and loved every moment!! We had a nice steak in the pub that evening, with a real fire and a good pint. It is a typical pub grub menu. It is not cheap but let´s be fair, they are trading on the position and name of Jamaica Inn so I wouldn’t expect a cheap...

We checked In early as our room was ready. Staff we've very friendly and the service was excellent. Food was well priced with huge servings. My mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and the added bonus of free pool, jukebox and darts. We were allowed to explore the hotel with ghost hunting items...

What a wonderful hotel and location !! On arrival we had a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The room was lovely and I wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect if you wanted to base yourself there with a view to exploring the surrounding area. What a room to come back to after a busy...

Visited here for lunch, friendly welcoming young staff. Main bar area is lovely with original features. However this is let down by a canteen type area where you order food and this spoils the atmosphere. We ordered a meal of pasty and chips and this came within 4 minutes, never a good sign. The chips were luke warm at best...

I stayed here for New Year with my husband and my mother stayed in another room. We found the rooms to be basic but clean and comfortable with plenty of room. We all had dinner in the pub, and had a good value meal. It is worth noting this isn’t a gastro pub more traditional pub food and cooked to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Food Served: 7.30Am - 9.30Pm every day (9pm winter) Still standing proud over four centuries, Jamaica Inn is so legendary that Daphne du Maurier chose to immortalise it in her novel and last year the BBC featured it in a 3-part adaptation of her work. Cornwall's most famous smuggling inn, Jamaica Inn is shrouded in history and has one of the finest collections of smuggling artefacts in the country. A visit to the Inn's museum includes the Daphne du Maurier Room, with the actual desk she wrote her novels on, plus an educational and historical theatre show about smuggling in Cornwall and the part Jamaica Inn played. The odd ghost or two is said to occupy the Inn which is regularly visited by ghost hunters on popular Ghost Hunt Weekends! Wholesome tasty meals are served all day using the freshest and finest local ingredients starting at 7.30Am with hearty Cornish breakfasts, followed by delicious lunches, mouth watering cream teas and fine dinners right through to 9.30Pm (9pm winter). Traditional Sunday lunches are served most Sundays. The Inn's friendly staff can advise on real ales and fine wines that can be drunk in front of a crackling fire in winter and in the Inn's gardens overlooking the Moor in summer. The Inn is ideal as a rest stop by the A30 or as a base to explore most of Cornwall and Devon in a day. Many walkers start from the Inn and traverse breathtaking Bodmin Moor. The Inn has 20 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, WiFi and Sky Sports and Movie channels - some even have romantic 4-poster beds and 2 rooms are dog friendly. ... more   less
