Stayed here for 3 days in November. Very comfortable and clean room. Very good staff, professional and efficient. Excelent bar with open fire and warm welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Will be returning. Good food too by the way.

This Inn has it all going for it, superb accommodation more five star than the rated three, excellent choice of food, there is loads of history along with the museum, gift shop and a shop for those little treats to take home. The staff are more than helpful and take time to make you feel at home. Set on Bodmin... More

I have always been fascinated by Jamacia inn since I was a child. Stories of sumggling, Pirates and ghosts intriguing. Therefore the chance to stay as part of a ghost hunting weekend was a must. I went with a friend so we had a twin room. This was small but really comfortable. It had a nice sized bathroom with shower over... More

Room 4 - cosy 4 poster room at the front of the inn. Large on suite all spotlessly clean. Reputably haunted but didn't see or hear anything - too busy sleeping our teatime steak meal and a few pints of rattler cider. Sloping floors and low ceilings in the room - very atmospheric - would recommend 😀😀😀😀👻👻👻👻

Stayed in the beautiful Jamaica inn for one night and loved it from the second we pulled into the car park. It's a stunning old building situated in the middle of the moors. Yes it is just off the A30 but we never heard it once. We stayed in room 1 (en-suite)which is in the old part of the building.... More

We arrived with an open mind after reading a few of the negative reviews and got the room at a very reasonable price as its mid week and out of season......but what is there to moan about. Everyone from check in to bar staff and waitresses were so friendly. We had a standard room which was very comfortable and cosy.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Food Served: 7.30Am - 9.30Pm every day (9pm winter) Still standing proud over four centuries, Jamaica Inn is so legendary that Daphne du Maurier chose to immortalise it in her novel and last year the BBC featured it in a 3-part adaptation of her work. Cornwall's most famous smuggling inn, Jamaica Inn is shrouded in history and has one of the finest collections of smuggling artefacts in the country. A visit to the Inn's museum includes the Daphne du Maurier Room, with the actual desk she wrote her novels on, plus an educational and historical theatre show about smuggling in Cornwall and the part Jamaica Inn played. The odd ghost or two is said to occupy the Inn which is regularly visited by ghost hunters on popular Ghost Hunt Weekends! Wholesome tasty meals are served all day using the freshest and finest local ingredients starting at 7.30Am with hearty Cornish breakfasts, followed by delicious lunches, mouth watering cream teas and fine dinners right through to 9.30Pm (9pm winter). Traditional Sunday lunches are served most Sundays. The Inn's friendly staff can advise on real ales and fine wines that can be drunk in front of a crackling fire in winter and in the Inn's gardens overlooking the Moor in summer. The Inn is ideal as a rest stop by the A30 or as a base to explore most of Cornwall and Devon in a day. Many walkers start from the Inn and traverse breathtaking Bodmin Moor. The Inn has 20 bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, WiFi and Sky Sports and Movie channels - some even have romantic 4-poster beds and 2 rooms are dog friendly. ... more   less
