#2 of 11 B&Bs / Inns in Callington
We are a four star Visit Britain rated guest house but in addition we are also a residential art school offering six day courses for artists of all abilities. When we are running a course we rarely take bed and breakfast guests at the same time usually because our rooms are taken. As a guest house, we welcome guests at other times and we offer evening meals if required although we do need prior notification as we buy ingredients to order to suit our guests needs. Because our art school diary could conflict with the guest house availability, we do not post available dates on line. Please call us to discuss a stay with us for whatever reason.

I stayed in the guest house as part of a visit to the Callington Art School. Peter and Tessa are the best of hosts and nothing was too much trouble, they've both warm and attentive in a relaxed way. They made my stay a joy. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Meals are tasty, generous and very well cooked. The whole house is decorated in keeping with the era of the historic property but also made contemporary with lots of Tessa's art hanging the walls to enjoy as well as other artists work and artefacts- a beautiful property. I loved it and will definitely want to repeat a visit.

I stayed at Lower House for one night B&B, as I was attending a meeting at Callington Health Centre. I had a warm welcome & every attention to my short stay. Very comfortable room, lovely breakfast (vegetarian at my request). Viewed the comprehensive Art Studio which would be of interest to the more artistic within my family. I would certainly look for another reason to visit again! Thank you

Two wonderful nights at Lower House. We were really impressed by how comfortable, spacious and tasteful the guest house (and the art school) are. Food, furnishings, facilities, presentation, style, atmosphere, cleanliness, welcome and attention to detail – all were great. We'd recommend this to anyone. Thank you Peter and Tessa!

We've just returned from a 6 day residential painting course at Callington Art School at Lower House. Our hosts were excellent and friendly. The course was well run, very helpful and enabled me to progress my art skills quite considerably. Our accommodation was very comfortable, although a little dated. The food was very good, and plenty of it - breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Would highly recommend for either the art course or just the 'B & B' Would give 4.5 if we could.

This is our second visit to this delightful hotel. This time our youngest son was with us. He had the single room and we had the double room. Both are well presented, clean and well decorated. Rooms are en suit with everything you need. The rooms are spacious. Bed and covers are comfortable. They have different types of tea from ordinary breakfast tea to herbal tea and decaffeinated tea. Instant hot chocolate drink and coffee. Don't try the biscuit if you have false teeth. Breakfast is good with normal English breakfast. Peter will present you with a bowl of fruits and yogurt. Marmalade is home made. There are so much variety breakfast to choose from. The lady of the house is an artist. The house is full of beautiful paintings. Peter and Tessa the owners are both very friendly and welcoming. You can arrive any time. The hotel has no restaurant, but they can prepare dinner for you upon request. Thank you Tessa and Peter
