Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful peaceful location with a fishing lake. Kay and her nephew Thomas were perfect hosts and the breakfast each morning was amazing, Polhilsa Farm is located perfectly to explore Cornwall. We stayed a week and would return again Thank you

We really struck gold with our 4 night stay in the Boathouse. An immaculately clean converted cottage with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Well equipped kitchen and a list of local eateries and takeaways. Kay the owner welcomed us on arrival with a very easy checkin but left us alone for the duration of our stay but was there on hand if we needed her. The boathouse is on a beautiful lake with the most stunning views and sunsets. An ideal place to get away from the rat race and relax. There was no wifi in the boathouse but 4G signal- this didnt bother us and added to our relaxation. Comfy bed and lounge furniture, plenty of space outdoors to relax and walk the dog. We loved the ducks sailing past our window and watching their morning waddle to get their worms. You do need a car to stay here and visit Cornwall/ Devon but it is well worth the extra bit of travel to have this pure relaxation when at the Boathouse. Our only disappointment was we had to leave!

Large room & large bathroom with a bath lovely, was the little things like fresh flowers & a few chocolates, booking site advised sheets & towels needed took my own but not necessary, bit remote not too bad first night very quiet bit noisier second night as people above me. Breakfast a miserable experience due to covid restrictions had to keep getting up & down to collect different elements of my breakfast only place I stayed where this happened as I have friends in the area would certainly stay again

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the bed and breakfast at Polhilsa Farm. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the breakfast was superb. The views over the Cornish countryside are beautiful. We will definitely return.

We booked Polhilsa last minute and we weren’t disappointed. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed. Breakfast on a morning was the best way to start your day. Polhilsa is tucked away in a quiet location and we found that we were quite central to everything that we had planned to do and it was perfect. Kay was really friendly and welcoming to us and our two dogs. We can’t fault our stay here at all. We’d definitely return.

Our annual trip to Cornwall always includes a stay at this lovely farmhouse. May is a brilliant host and cook's a great Cornish breakfast. We'll worth a visit if your looking for accommodation in the area.

My partner and I visited the b&b for 3 nights to visit family. The room we had was lovely, quite big with a double bed and a single bed and on suite. Tea and coffee was supplied with fresh milk left outside our room every morning. The beds were comfortable and room was quiet although we could sometimes hear the people above us moving around. The breakfast was lovely, full cornish breakfast or you can choose what you like and it is cooked fresh to the time you have chosen with a continental buffet. Kay the owner was lovely and always gave advice on where to go. It is surrounded by 2 large lakes which was lovely to walk around after breakfast. We had a lovely time and would certainly return.

We had a wonderful time at Polhilsa Farm. There is no sign from the main road and our Sat Nav only flagged up the main road. The turning is exactly where a cat and dog kennels are (for info). Could be our Sat Nav, who knows?! We booked two rooms, 1 room with two singles for our two sons (12 and 16), that room led to mine and my husbands room with double bed. Then downstairs my mother in law had two singles in her room on the ground floor. Each of the rooms are very spacious with wardrobe, sofa or chair, tea making facilities and en-suites but more importantly wi-fi for the kids!!!!! The view is just lovely and very peaceful. Breakfast was also lovely and plentiful. We will definitely be going back.

Converted barns on a working farm. We chose the B&b as a base to be near family and able to get to a lot of attractions within an hours drive. The rooms were large well furnished and wonderfully quiet. The only sound was nesting swallows and who can complain about that?! Breakfast was full offering hearty sausages and bacon were especially wonderful. The breakfast totally set us up for the day. Kay the owner and host was so very keen to make sure we had a nice stay and her local knowledge was so helpful in finding places to go. Fully recommend

Stayed in the Lakeview barn conversion for three nights. Friendly welcome and a great tranquil location overlooking the lake with no sounds other than the various birds outside the cottage. Clean, we'll presented and everything in the kitchen that are likely to need. Would recommend and wished we'd booked for longer.
