Centrally located in Cambourne with free parking. Was greeted on arrival and had a double room for single occupancy. Had asked for a quiet room as here for work Monday to Saturday for two weeks.
Room was spacious and clean but in need of a refurb as a bit tired but comfortable. Generally warm but on occasions room service left the window open after cleaning room so it could be cold on arrival in evenings. The old sash window rattles in the wind (badly!) so had to jam some card down the side.
Staff very good and friendly but did have some issues with the bath. Was told to take care when showering as water was dripping into the bar area below. After a few days it was established I was not to blame- it was a problem under the bath!
On the Monday morning I went down to breakfast but I couldn’t attract the attention of anyone in the kitchen for about 5 minutes although I could hear voices in the kitchen. When breakfast came it was always great and plentiful.
The colleagues are always very friendly on reception and willing to help so 10/10 to them. The real downsides to this hotel is the noise at the weekend from the live band on a Friday which is extremely, floor vibratingly loud until 1am and I got no sleep until gone 1am and had work the next day. Also on a Saturday night there is a disco until around midnight.
Camborne seems to be a typical Cornish town but there is a hooligan element , drunken shouting in the streets at weekend outside bedroom window and the boy racers in their cars with tuned exhausts doing their rounds of the town centre. God only knows who they are trying to impress.
I probably wouldn’t use this hotel again because of the noise issues of music at weekends but overall a nice place. Didn’t try the hotel food except the Sunday carvery which was good

Good Morning, Thankyou for finding the time to leave this review. I have taken on board both your kind words and contructive critisism. We do apologise about the noise on Friday& Saturday evenings from our entertainment & front traffic, but we do inform on every booking site we use and again at check-in. I have passed your kind words on to the staff. Kind Regards, Amber, Duty Manager

This was our first visit for many years and we were VERY pleasantly surprised with the excellent carvery on Sunday. There was a good selection of tasty vegetables and the roast potatoes were of the best which I have ever been offered other than home cooked. The staff were we!coming and friendly. We will certainly return and in the near future.

Visit the area for work on a fortnightly basis, due to the premier inn’s prices souring during the holidays I’d thought I’d try the others out for comparison. The search will continue!
Had a room out the front, I’m guessing the pub is listed as my room had single glazing, that mixed with siting above a main road, it being in the town centre and the large bay window amplifying all sound beyond kept me awake most of the night and allowed me to right this review.
Had food in the restaurant, service was good however the food was below par, I expect the microwave had some use and it was noticeable in the presentation.
Breakfast is yet to come but I suppose things can only get better.
My room deco is in need of updating, it’s got the feel that it’s been updated using the local charity shop, not that there’s anything wrong with charity shops I just couldn’t think of a phrase to use, the room was spacious however and the bathroom appears to have been recently installed.
If I held my iPhone at arms reach and watched a movie, that would compare to the size of the TV, it’s present which I imagine gets them an extra star, however given that it’s around head height and that there is only my granny’s wicker seating to sit on, it makes it impractical to use.
This is 1 of 3-4 rooms located above the pub, I’m aware there maybe better to the rear, I’d advise if it’s a must, ask for one of these

We had a meal in the pub/restaurant and despite the very helpful woman behind the bar, who took our order, specifying no onion, dairy or gluten in my food, the side salad contained raw red onion. The waitress seemed unconcerned when it was pointed out but said she would "inform chef". In the light of recent cases where people with food allergies have died, this establishment needs to have a more responsible attitude concerning food allergies.

Good Evening, Thankyou for your review, i do apologise for your meal being sent to your table containing these items in the first place. After speaking with the waitress on shift i was informed that you were offered to have your meal replaced straight away, you declined. Unfortunately if problems like this arise we do our upmost in resolving the situation and with a serious allergy we would of been more than happy to of replaced the meal to avoid you consuming any of these items. With your decline we were unable to do so. We do hope to see your custom again, i again apologise for any inconvience. Kind Regards, Amber, Duty Manager

Absolutely awful food and atmosphere. Both myself and my husband had bad indogestion as food was extremely greasy . Can't imagine hom much oil and butter they have used for cooking! I have never tasted anything like this before! Awful! I suppose OK for 'greasy food lovers' and for 'soak up alcohol' people, but not acceptable for those who expect respectable dinner. Staff was very friendly and good, shame about the food. The atmosphere was extremely noisy in a dining area with kids screaming all the time, the staff should have separated customers with no children to a bar area which had plenty of room. Won't go back there, that's for sure

Good Afternoon, After laising with the management team, not one of us was aware of any complaints during the month of August regarding the food. Unfortuantely without being made aware of such issues we are unable to resolve any problems that you may have. As an establishment we aim for every customer to be fully satisfied with their meal and we will always do everything in our power to replace anything that isnt up to our standard. Again, without being made aware of the problems at the time of visit, we are unable to do this. We have seen record numbers come into our dining area throughout the month of August and a very, very minimal number of complaints. Unfortunately we are not willing to segregate familys and children in certain areas of the pub, we pride ourselves on having a family friendly atmosphere. Thankyou for your feedback, Regards, Amber, Restaurant Manager

Wouldn't normally book rooms in a pub, but an emergency trip to Cornwall in the summer holidays meant our choice was limited. I needn't have worried! Booking at 11pm the night before our stay, I filled in the special request form to have a quiet room - and was surprised to find I had an immediate response. the website states that it's likely to be loud at weekends. On the night we stayed, the bar was closed and empty by 11pm, The windows were double glazed, but the road wasn't noisy at night anyway.Food portions are huge - we ate in the restaurant and of the 3 of us, only one of finished our meal. Breakfast was equally as generous. Halloumi burger was really tasty, and the vegetarian sausages were excellent at breakfast. All staff were friendly and helpful

Booked hotel and a great base to visit the coast line and was pleased with our choice. Free parking with voucher to put dashboard in car park behind the hotel. Had we know our room would be by the busy main road we'd have asked for something quieter but information said ask for a quiet room if staying Friday/Saturday due to live music and we were Sunday to Thursday. The traffic was very noisy as were many of people that I assume had just left the nearby pubs. Due to covid the room was not cleaned during our stay but that suited us, we just asked for clean towels and more loo rolls halfway during our stay which were instantly provided. Small gripe, especially during covid, is that our orange juice was bought to us by handling the outer rim of the glass and not the base on all four mornings. Small gripes and we'd happily stay here again next time we visit Cornwall

The Hotel is located in the centre of Cambourne also ideally located for Truro and Penzance if you are unable to find anywhere there. There is ample free parking (which you have to log your vehicle in via a touch screen in reception) The room I stayed in was ample in size with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast was exellant with vegatarian options. All of the staff were very friendly and helpfull.
