Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I can't rate this property highly enough. Unlike other reviewers we didn't come with a dog, but I can see that it would be a great place to bring one! It's finished to a really high standard and the instruction book is without question the best I've seen.

It's clearly aimed at couples; there's a wealth of beautiful touches here, from the luxurious welcome tray to the Poldark style bath. It's just a 10 minute drive from the Coast path which has a string little NT carparks between Hayle and Portreath, so you can do a short or long walk and go back to relax on the sofa in front of the log burner. It was February so no pool, but we found the chickens who looked like a very well cared for bunch. They have a large and interesting pen and we enjoyed eating their eggs!

For the energetic there is Heartlands parkrun in Redruth, just 3 miles away, which has the totally gorgeous Red River cafe on site providing breakfast until 12. The NT mines in Redruth are really interesting too.

This place is just wonderful. It looked really nice on the internet but its much much better than it looks. The holiday cottages are immaculate and absolutely gorgeous inside. Really comfortable with everything you need. The bed was so comfy, i need that mattress. Nice little touch in the holiday cottage, which have been converted from stables, such as port, crisps, tea bags, milk.
The grounds are stunning, you can walk round to the lake, use the outdoor swimming pool, help yourselves to eggs from the chicken house. Its in such a peaceful location but very close to Camborne to supermarket etc. We found the location perfect, 20-30 mins to St Ives or St Michaels Mount. So good location to many attractions and areas.
Nicola and Robert the owners are so lovely. The housekeeper is a gem and so lovely to chat to. We really couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic dog friendly accommodation in wonderful grounds. Everything you could possibly need in the accommodation, plus table, chairs and bbq outside. The grounds had plenty of areas to walk, a pool, large pond, treehouse, wooded areas. Great location to use as a base whilst touring Cornwall with plenty of parking. Really friendly and helpful owner. Will definitely stay again.

This wonderful location is just outside Camborne down a winding country lane.
We stayed in Juniper Stable, one of four nicely converted and well equipped stables.
The grounds are lovely with a good sized swimming pool and very nice swimming pond.
There are various comfy seating areas in the grounds.
This is also a great base to explore the local beaches and coves.
Thoroughly recommended.

We wish we never left this incredible place, loved every single minute of our stay. Everything was of top quality and incredible high standards. Great location and only 15/30 minutes drive to the best beaches and interesting sites.
Haven't met the host but the maid was attentive, polite, efficient and charming.
Will definitely be back at the next opportunity.

Quiet, relaxing, rejuvenating and quite simply a beautiful place for a couples break…! Kerry & Guy were great hosts. The rooms lovely, super clean (thanks to Liz) and well stocked. The bed was really comfy and the gardens stunning. Can’t wait to go back. Huge recommend!!!

The 5 * star experience here is amazing.
The cottages are fantastically clean and after meeting Liz you can see the pride she takes in her work to make your stay perfect.
The arrival pack is brilliant...I won't spoil any surprises - you'll need to find out yourselves!
Log fires in December...just perfectly cosy.
Grounds are great for walking around. Shame for us is the pool is under renovation and the tree house platform is a little cold at the moment, but a brilliant excuse to come back in the summer!

Kerry excels at ensuring everyone has the best stay possible and nothing is too much trouble.

In December make sure you visit the Angarrack and the Mousehole Christmas lights.

The nearest pub is the Premier Inn, but would definitely recommend Trevaskis Farm & the Angarrak Inn.

We've had 5* hotels & cruises etc and can whole heartedly recommend Red River Stables in that league for self catering.

Will be back !

First time in Cornwall and first time at the Red River Stables...won’t be our last! Red River Stables was truly beautiful. We wanted a “dog friendly” holiday so that our little miniature dachshund Pancake could come along too and trying to find the right place to stay for her was difficult. After finding this little gem and reading the reviews it was from there a no brainer. This accommodation exceeded our expectations completely. Having the full run of Kerry’s epic back garden was great for Pancake! Kerry couldn’t be more helpful if she tried and meeting Bramble was the cherry on top of the cake! Everything about the accommodation was faultless. We stayed in the Hayloft and it was spacious, immaculately clean and finished to a very high standard. The welcome book was also very helpful and the Sherry on arrival went down a treat after a 10 and half hour car ride from Newcastle! Can’t thank Red River Stables, Kerry and Bramble enough for making our trip to gorgeous Cornwall unforgettable!

Thank you.

Jill, Fiona and Pancake x

We’ve stayed at many places that ‘allow’ dogs, but it’s important to differentiate between dogs ‘allowed’ and dog ‘friendly’. The Red River Stables is definitely in the latter category.

Sometimes, travelling with our energetic black Labrador has been stressful. Many places always require you to keep dogs on leads. Not here. Our dog was free to roam around outside the cottages and explore the massive garden. The only minor stress was trying to stop her from jumping in the swimming pool!

We went to Red River Stables to relax, and it is a great place for that. There are many really nice places to visit that are just a short drive from the cottages, and there are loads of nice places to walk/run/cycle, right from the door.

Special mention needs to be given to ‘guest information guide’ – this wasn’t your typical list of nearby restaurants and attractions – this was a passionately curated guide built on personal experience. The guide led us to some great beaches and restaurants. Advise on dog-friendliness is also noted for each place.

We stayed in the height of summer, but it would also be a lovely place to stay in the winter.

A lovely quiet location, but very accessible to the A30 to reach North Cornwall or the Southern coast. St Ives is a very short drive for example. The accommodation (We had 'The Hayloft') has been done to a very high standard and was immaculate with everything you could need for a stay. There was a lovely welcome hamper with eggs, tea, coffee and bread. Milk and butter was in the fridge. There's a suggested honest payment of £5 a day for a dog, which I don't think is too unreasonable. There's a lovely courtyard where you can sit out in warmer weather and lots of walks around if you have a dog. We will definitely return.
