Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 3 nights in this charming house and enjoyed our stay greatly. Sharon and Nigel are very kind hosts. Thanks to Nigel's advice we visited Boscastle. This tiny village provided for some of the most spectacular sights during our trip in Cornwall. The views from the cliffs were just breathtaking! Our hosts turned out to be great cooks as well, we enjoyed dinner with a starter and a main course prepared by Nigel and a wonderful dessert prepared by Sharon. We are very pleased we had the chance to explore some parts of Cornwall having the Pendragon Country House as a starting point.

Superb hotel. We were warmly greeted with tea and home made cookies then shown to our beautiful room where everything had been thought of eg bath robes, clock radio. High quality bed linen and towels, nice toiletries and local tea/hot choc as well as a decanter of sherry and more home made goodies. Immaculately clean. Nice lounge areas with a well stocked honesty bar (didn’t get round to using) and chess/jigsaw etc to entertain yourself. Good choice of breakfast - nicely served and they are happy to accommodate different requests - I asked for a bacon sandwich as couldn’t manage a full breakfast. I think the bread was home made too. The whole place is full of antiques which are lovely to look at. Set in its own ground with plenty of parking. The only thing we struggled with is finding somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening - everywhere seemed to be closed so in hindsight we should have ventured a bit further to Bodmin or Wadebridge. But certain evenings they do offer evening meal. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived it was obvious that little things were going to make a difference, home made biscuits, ground coffee and local tea on the hospitality tray in our room. The homemade granola and locally sourced breakfast items and the option to use the honesty bar in the well appointed lounge. Will definitely try to stay here again.

My husband and I had an absolutely lovely time at Pendragon House, Sharon was amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. 5* breakfast and accommodation, peaceful and relaxing time, and her cookie recipe she even wrote down for me 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

Where do I start?? Firstly, it is the hosts, Sharon and Nigel, who really make this place what it is. Their professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail is faultless. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful, calm and tranquil. We had an excellent night's sleep every night. It was so quiet!! The quality of the tea, coffee etc. in our room was superb. A lovely touch is Sharon's home-made biscuits which were put in the room each day. The breakfasts were the best we have ever had. For a small hotel there is more than enough choice. Everything was fresh and tasted divine. We also ate dinner in the hotel three times during our week's stay. The food is just heavenly! It is hard to believe that neither Nigel nor Sharon have had any formal culinary training. Each night the menu was a triumph and the food would not have looked out of place in a Michelin-starred restaurant, using only the best and freshest ingredients and beautifully presented. We felt as though we arrived as guests and left as friends. Unfortunately, Trip Advisor limit the number of words one can use in a review. I have a lot more to say than what I have written here. If you do wish to read more, a longer and more detailed review can be found in The Good Hotel Guide.

Thank you so much we are genuinely blown away and moved by your wonderful review. Of course in fact it is also down to you as kind, considerate and generous people to make everything go as smoothly. We really enjoyed hosting your stay and chatting to you both and our trip to the 'Jam Shed' was very welcome indeed, thank you. We are so pleased that you enjoyed all the extra touches and additional levels of service we bestow, and we are very grateful for all your kind words and for taking the time to share with others. We are especially happy that you also wrote to the Good Hotel Guide as that is an important recognition for us. We sincerely hope to see you again and all the best for the future.

Nigel and Sharon are wonderful hosts which is the key to anything involving hospitality. The rooms are comfortable , the breakfast extensive but the hospitality provided makes this property stand out in comparison to other properties we have stayed in. Many thanks..we will tell our friends

We booked the entire place for another fabulous week which we are in the middle of right now. Nigel, Sharon, Hannah and Charlie are fantastic hosts and this is truly an amazing place. They have got everything right from the rooms, the quality of the linens, the breakfasts, the dinners, the lounges and the grounds. I can’t really think of anything that needs to be changed. If you are staying, the evening meals are really beautifully presented and prepared with local ingredients cooked to perfection and are truly worth trying. Really stunning three courses served with style and flair and which taste amazing. All the little touches like the homemade treats in the room, the hospitality tray in each bedroom with a decanter of sherry, the proper coffee, the honesty bar in the lounge and the unobtrusive hosting make this a perfect place to feel rested and pampered. The attention to detail is unlike other places I have stayed in and both Nigel and Sharon go out of their way to make each of their guests valued and special. I sincerely hope we are able to come back again and do this all over again. Thank you. X

We enjoyed our short break at Pendragon House. Lovely room, fabulous food and very enjoyable stay in the area. Nigel and Sharon are very attentive and catered for every need. The room was very comfortable. We appreciated being able to charge our EV at the property, which was very helpful considering the lack of reliable public chargers in the area.
