My husband and I have just returned from a three night stay at Toppesfield House. We had the best time. Our room was beautiful, the bed was so comfy and the shower was amazing. It was also nice to have a mini fridge and tea, coffee and biscuits. We were made to feel very welcome by Karen. She was lovely and really helpful with advice on what to do and where to go. The breakfast was delicious, we enjoyed a full English every morning as well as fruit and cereal. We simply couldn’t fault it and would recommend to anyone wanting a luxurious and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you!
Really was a pleasure to stay with Karen & Paul, they have created a wonderful B&B, shame they are having to move on. Having said that I'm sure they will create another magical B&B in due course. Lovely rooms, lovely breakfast, lovely people. Hope to visit the new premises one day. Good luck to you both from Sunny Essex - and good luck to "The Blades" next year!!
As many of the review's have already said. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Karen and Paul were very welcoming, bedroom had a lovely view and was fully equipped with everything you could need. Beakfast had a nice selection of options and was well cooked. Would fully recommend for any couple wishing to stay in the area for a few nights
Me and my partner recently stayed at Toppesfield House B&B now I’ve never stayed in a B&B before so wasn’t really sure what to expect, if you don’t like the feeling of invading someone else’s space then I wouldn’t recommend using B&B’s in general. We were early but went down to check it out, a lady greeted us and offered maps of Cornwall and explained a little about the surrounding area which was helpful, she showed us our room and then went on to ask us what time we were eating breakfast in the morning to be honest I hadn’t even thought about it. she then went on to explain she had an art class in the morning and needed to be gone by 9.15 latest so if we wanted breakfast we had to have it before then to which I felt abit on the spot to have to agree with. Both me and my partner had been up since 5am to get there that morning so was hoping for abit of a lazy morning the next day but now felt under pressure to be awake and have my breakfast before she left. My partner doesn’t eat that early so he just had some fruit, which annoyed me really as we had payed £95 to stay at this place for one night.. in the morning we were woken up at around 7am with people right outside our door eating and clanging things about, again I was pretty annoyed as I was hoping for a later start than that! All in all the room was lovely, I have no complaints about that, it had everything we needed and a huge comfy bed and the breakfast although I couldn’t eat it all as was abit early it was very nice. I will say that the hosts were lovely I just felt we should have been told about these things before booking as I would have gone with somewhere else.…
A delightful very helpful couple. Nothing was too much trouble with every consideration thought of. Breakfast was equally as good with a lovely variety. We stayed two nights and would have to say it is one of the nicest B & B's we have stayed in. I would suggest it is better suited for couples only. It is located up a steep hill with plenty of parking within walking distance into town being only a few minutes away. Walking back it is rather a steep hill so may not suit everyone. Excellent location if visiting Tintagel and surrounding areas.
