This is my second stay here so I knew what to expect. Last time I stayed at Rose Cottage 2 years ago on a special deal, this time I stayed at Primrose Cottage at normal price. I must say it has benefited from a fresh coat of paint and new carpets, which make it a lot more appealing. It's a functional place more than somewhere to fall in love with. It still shows a lack of "love" from where it is tatty in places and there were a couple of lightbulbs not working and the back looks like it could do with a fresh coat of teak stain that would lift it enormously. The kitchen has the very basics which were fine although it would benefit from a wooden spoon and metal sieve. I would also suggest you bring your own sharp knife. There were some crumbs under the chopping tiles and stuff on the floor in the downstairs toilet on arrival but otherwise it was clean and bright and fully functional. The double bed was incredibly creaky and we both found it uncomfortable to sleep on with the springs and the double bedroom would also benefit from a blackout blind as the light is bright in the mornings even with the curtains drawn. We therefore moved into the single bedroom where it was much darker and the beds much more comfortable. The linen is nice quality too. Would have liked a timer for the heating thermostat but that's just being picky on our part. Otherwise very nice overall. Not a home from home by any means but a very peaceful and very friendly stay and this time the WiFi was really excellent! Would I book for a 3rd time? Yes. It's a brilliant central location to explore Tintagel, Port Isaac, Boscastle, Bodmin, etc.

Overall very good. Difficult to find the cottages on initial arrival not helped by the sign by the entrance being large but we missed it because it’s completely overgrown. Ended up in the holiday home park next door, driving around it looking a bit suspicious I felt and going nowhere. To help you find it see the attached photo. This sign is easier to spot and is right outside the cottages.

The decors was fresh and good quality furnishings and fittings were used throughout. Shower was a decent power shower but the cubicle was a little small. TV and kitchen all good. Outside area small but comfortable.

We had a maintenance problem but the guys that were looking after the place (easy to contact) were very good and sorted it out. Similarly there was a booking problem post initial booking but this was pretty quickly and well addressed. I guess we were unlucky but these things will happen and you can only judge by the efficiency of resolution which was good in both cases.

This is my 3rd time staying at these cottages now and since my last trip 17 months ago they have been nicely refurbished.

I come here every year because they are central to visit the attractions in the area, functional, basic but comfortable and peaceful. I find them good value for money which is why I return and they've been spruced up and refreshed recently which is much nicer than the last 2 times I stayed. You have everything you need here in a peaceful environment on the edge of a quiet holiday park. They now have excellent wifi on site too - a definite improvement on previous visits, and a woodburner.

For me, what's missing are the little extras and the furnishings like cushions, rug/blanket, a few kitchen utensils, but otherwise everything you need is there incl a dishwasher and washing machine. It's a functional place rather than a home from home, but a good one.

There is a Coop and Spar in town, which is a 20 mins walk away, fish n chips, pubs and a Chinese takeaway too. It's 6 miles from Tintagel and 12 miles from Bodmin. There's a petrol station in town also. Nearby Boscastle has more restaurants and eateries.

Happy to come again. 🙂

The cottage was easy to find with parking and totally immaculate. The kitchen had everything you could need including a dishwasher and washing machine. We had to supply our own condiments because of covid 19 and where left simply instruction on how to leave the place when vacating. Lovely comfy sofas, dining table and flat screen tv. Easy to control heating and a downstairs toilet. The bathroom upstairs was nice with a great shower, twin bedroom and long mirror and a good double bedroom. Loads of wardrobe space, ironing board etc and nice pics on the walls all decorated modernly. Literally 5 minutes in the car if' that you have a Co op and a great fish and chip shop and pub in Camelford itself. You are close to St Nectans Waterfalls and Merlins cave and castle remember to book the castle before hand. Padstow is amazing and not far and Port Issac where they film Doc Martin is worth going for a walk its beautiful. We where very lucky as we managed to find a fantastic cab driver who is local, honest and reliable. This meant we could go out for cocktails and food which didnt break the bank . Sadly we have misplaced his number but if you ask the landlady in the Masons arms pub she recommended him to us. The only complaint I have is that you can feel the springs in the matress so I put a quilt from the other bed underneath me to lie on. They need to get mattress toppers apart from that it was perfect. Newquay is nice to visit, Rick Steins resturaunt and The Eden Centre too.

Thank you for your lovely 5 star review which is much appreciated. We are concerned to read that you found one of the matresses uncomfortable as we regularly check them and replace as necessary. I have been unable to trace your booking without a surname or arrival date and I wonder if you could kindly advise which cottage you stayed in so that we can investigate and replace if needed. If you could contact us by replying to the email confirmation we sent to you, that would be ideal. Once again, many thanks and we hope to welcome you back another time.

Had a week at these cottages staying in “Violet”. First impressions were really good, appeared to have very recently been renovated, brand new kitchen in an open plan downstairs, new carpet on the stairs and first floor, well decorated bedrooms and a log burner for the winter nights. The cottages are in a great location for sightseeing, not that much in the local village but a cracking fish and chip shop. Only slight negative I would say are the single beds aren’t really suitable for adults, we got buy for the week but didn’t really get a decent nights kip, very creeky every time you moved but all in all a fantastic little cottage.

To note, we had an issue on the first morning with the water but contacted the help number given to us and it was dealt with within about 3 hours by a very friendly and helpful lady.

Stayed in primrose which was advertised as self catering.

Cooker barely worked as the seal was broken on the oven door allowing most of the heat to escape it took 2 hours just to cook some sausages the extractor fan was also broken

The fireplace also had a crack right across the glass door so we weren’t able to use the logs we had brought for a cosy fire after a long day out as when the fire got going the room filled with smoke as we hadn’t noticed the crack in the glass door

More worryingly the fire extinguisher had a last checked date of 2016 even though it stated on there it should be inspected and signed off every six months

More worrying than ever though is the response and attitude when I have this feed back in my review on booking . com

They responded that the cleaner had cleaned the fire place just before our visit and there was no crack in the log burner door Oh ok that’s why I had to hunt down a carrier bag to clean it before we put logs in it then

Also she responded about the fire extinguisher it would of still worked what a appalling response she also said they had paperwork it had been checked more recently

I think this comes from the same place as saying the fire place had been cleaned prior to our visit she also said I would be refunded £50 as we ended up eating out every night as the cooker was beyond rubbish I never got that even though it was about 5 weeks ago and iv chased it up a few times

In short it’s the worst holiday let ever it’s shabby kitchen has cupboards that are falling apart and has a broken log burner and cooker and safety appliances such as fire extinguishers are out of date

Avoid as not worth the money booking .com is my favourite booking platform and it’s a shame primrose cottage part of the juleot wells cottage group is allowed to advertise on it as I felt genuinely unsafe staying there due to its poor state of repair

This fear wasn’t helped when a man working in the cottage next door said it has been not been used for a year because a electrical fault melted the dishwasher cooker and washing machine and that the owner of Juliet wells cottages has not been able to do the repairs as the insurance wasn't interested

He came in to looked at the cooker which he couldn’t get working he asked us to switch it on and off at wall but still no joy he openly adamited that the cottage was in I’ll repair and overdue for a upgrades

Had a fantastic week in this beautiful location. The lodge we stayed in had a beautiful location overlooking the lovely Cornish countryside. We were greeted by Ann (manager) who immediately made us feel welcome. The lodge was well appointed with all things you would need. Bed was very comfortable. Managed to use the pool a couple of days which was heated to a lovely temperature. Everywhere was lovely and clean. There is some maintenance going on to some of the older lodges but this did not cause any issues. Thanks to Ann for being so welcoming and letting us having the pleasure in meeting Lola, we’re sure she is going to grow up and be a beautiful dog.

Just had a lovely stay in Bramble Cottage. It’s beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean.

We did not cook much while there but there was everything you would need to cook for a family.

Good bonus to have an additional downstairs toilet and the garden was secure for the dogs. The beds were comfy and plenty of storage space, hangers etc.

The location itself was great. Really close to some beautiful places and easy to get to by car. The site itself was quiet and peaceful.

Thanks for a great stay.
We will definitely be back.

Worth noting that there are several cottages in this collection on the same site with different owners. We stayed in Bramble.
This is now our third visit!

The property was spotless and furnished to a really high standard with a new kitchen and lovely comfy beds. The downstairs is open plan with smart TV and woodburner. There is a small courtyard garden but we did not use it due to the time of year.
We spent the weekend walking sections of the coast path and drinking and eating!

Ample parking on site and with easy access to A39, Padstow, Newquay and Tintagel.

Will definitely return.
