We stayed at this site in July and loved it so much we rebooked for August. Great site. Really easy to find and close to Tintagel and beaches. We mainly used Trebarwith Strand. Both only around 10 minutes away by car.
Two large fields with a small lake in the middle are used for camping. Pitches are around the outside of the camp leaving room for other activities.
Toilets are clean and well maintained. Showers and hot water are free of charge, as is toilet paper! Disinfectant wipes are available for use in communal areas. The area are also deep cleaned daily. There are two sinks for washing up divided by a screen. There is a washing machine available in the ladies toilet for £5 per load and also a tumble drier on a £1 meter system.
Only downside is you can occasionally hear the near by wind turbines turning if it’s windy. We heard them during our July stay, but not the August one. It didn’t bother us at all, but definitely worth a mention.

A superb week camping here, which is perfectly placed for trips to Tintagel, Port Isaac, Padstow, Bodmin, Wadesbridge and beyond.

The site itself we found lovely a quiet, but also picturesque. I’ve never had such a good view washing up!

Our tent pitch has electric, on a very slight slope with the odd bobble but certainly nothing to trouble us.

The washrooms perfectly clean with plenty of anti-bac wipes and gels to use, plus a handy token system so only four people can use the facilities at one time.

There are some large wind turbines nearby which are fascinating to look at and bizarrely you could here swooping and whooshing some nights, but not others. Funnily enough they helped me sleep!

We had a warm welcome, even contacted the equestrian centre which is part of the complex and our daughter took her first ever ride!

The showers could be a tad larger, and more of them, but we soon got used to them. All in all, we had a lovely week exploring and would definitely recommend this campsite.

We stayed in our friends caravan ( a first caravan) stay for me. The weather was very hit and miss however this did not stop our enjoyment.
The park is really quiet and surrounded by countryside and ideally placed to visit Tintagel and Boscastle just minutes away. Bude, port Geverne, port Isaac and Crackington haven a little further.
The shower facilities were incredibly clean with all Covid guidelines in place. Tokens given to us to use and display on the outside of the building so only 4 people can be using the facilities at any one time- I always had the block to myself as it happens . Sanitiser Wipes on every shelf, lovely soft tissue paper in the WC’s with sanitiser wipes too and hot powerful showers and hand driers. Bins always emptied and surfaces extremely clean. Wash and recycling areas. Plenty of parking and generous pitches.
We met Margaret who was extremely helpful and the lovely Jacob (6 years old) who is a credit to the owners.
We so enjoyed our stay and are now contemplating a caravan to buy. Thank you
Phil and Tracey

We spent 7 nights at this campsite and had a lovely time.
The lady who dealt with us (we don’t know her name unfortunately but she was in a caravan with a couple of gorgeous dogs!) was very nice and helpful. We were given some useful information leaflets on arrival and could freeze ice blocks.

Beautiful scenery and the added bonus of a decent toilet/shower block with washing machine and tumble drier available if required. (Did wonder why those machines were only available in the female loos though!)

The only thing we would’ve liked to have known about before visiting was that the electric entrance gate locks at 11pm, which essentially meant we had a curfew. We booked on PitchUp.com - it might be that information is elsewhere. Didn’t negatively effect us, but something to keep in mind if you’re out for the whole day and arriving back late.

Lovely friendly welcome at this rural campsite with a view of the wind farm. Very accommodating staff over the phone too. Good lunar watching from this site too if it’s a clear enough night. Due to Covid 19 there were some very sensible restrictions which made us feel safe on site, including allowing less people to camp each night.
I wonder if we had stayed under normal circumstances if we might have struggled a bit with two showers in each toilet block, but can’t say for sure as we had no problems hence 5 stars!

Spent 2 nights camping here with my sons, their partners and one child. Showers and toilet block basic but adequate but most importantly were clean. Site itself wasn’t too busy for August and well spread out. Main gripe was that we were told to speak quieter by the owners at 9.45pm which we thought unreasonable - so if you want to sit outside and enjoy the summer evenings with family or friends having a chat perhaps not the place for you; we won’t be returning.

Small and quiet campsite, extremely good value for money. Toilets and showers seemed clean although maybe not quite as regularly cleaned as the other campsite we've been to since covid19. Pitch was on a slight slope but was fine. Overall a good stay and much cheaper than other campsites too.

Clean, quiet site, perfect for a relaxing weekend. Level ground and not too stony for putting in tent pegs. Shop shut due to COVID-19 precautions and we did miss not being able to freeze ice packs. Facilities are simple, plenty of hot water, but more showers are needed.

Stayed at Lakefield Campsite PL32 9TX. from 20th July to 24th July 2016.
Nice quiet site, with a great view of horses in the surrounding fields.
Campsite Showers could be wider, a bench across the door which flips down when door is shut.
Or a screen separator and bench in drying area.
Longer hooks clothes kept falling off. Flip locks would be more suitable as bolts got stuck.
Need more showers (or combination of separate personal wash area and separate showers).
Another wash up area & elsan at bottom end of campsite or halfway up near the corner.
They will definitely need them as once it gets out this is a great site, with horse riding on site they will need to put in more wash areas etc
One of the best sites I have been to
Riding Lessons very well taught, lovely well-trained horses, staff very friendly. Swimming Pool nearby & local shops.

This site is what we look for as all we want is a family sized pitch for our tent and car, Electric, somewhere to wash our dishes, toilets and shower. Pitches are flat with a gravel road leading to the end of the pitches. toilet and shower were average and the sinks for washing your dishes are outside the toilet/shower block that can have a q at certain hours. We love our fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, walking and the outdoor stuff so this area is one of the best places for all that with Bude, Port Isaac, Port Gaverne, Padstow and Newquay all in easy reach. We have now been to this site twice and would use it again on our next camping trip to this area of Cornwall. This site also has a small shop and freezer for your ice pack.
