We visited the restaurant for dinner whilst on holiday In Portwrinkle. We felt very safe in regard to Covid. I had spoken with the manager pre visit and he’d advised what we needed to do; wear a mask, track and trace etc so we knew exactly what to expect. We were due to go on the Friday evening and on arrival in Cornwall they called to warn us that they were closed for deep cleaning of the hotel but were more than happy to accommodate us for dinner. Although very kind we changed to the Saturday evening. The menu was very vege friendly for my husband. There is a lot of Thai influence and he enjoyed a lovely coconut curry. I had the surf and turf which was served on a sizzling hot stone. The food was really good and we ended up enjoying three courses. Would recommend!

Didn’t stay but ordered a takeaway to be delivered. Arrived on time and was excellent, delivered exactly what was ordered and was very tasty. Would definitely recommend for a delivery if staying close and wanted a night in.

We stayed at this hotel apx 5 years ago, this was a last minute booking due to a family illness but it was a real find. Was excited to stay again, first and only break this year due to Covid. Was a little concerned on arrival as the outdoor space was untidy, lots of weeds etc. Check in not ideal, there only appeared to be two staff on duty, one out delivering food and one attending to bedrooms. The room was ok, but quite dirty as example the bathroom door was filthy with old loo roll stuff in the lock, old used pill packet in the bedside cabinet, just felt rather grubby. On a positive the bed linen and towels were good quality. Covid measures - hand sanitiser available, masks required in public areas and temperature check on arrival, however did not witness any cleaning around the restaurant/bar area. We had a glass of wine at the bar, and the table clearly had not been cleaned for days/weeks. The price of the room was £120 PN, not worth the money, would expect to pay £80 for the room we had, but due to the cleanliness issues would not pay more than £60. Its such a shame that's its gone down hill. Would not return or recommend.

Booked at short notice for work. Very friendly helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble including a very early breakfast. Spotless, comfortable room, with all the usual facilities. Dinner was a good price with a nice range of dishes and drinks on offer. Would definitely stay there again for either work or pleasure.

When booking was promised room with 4 poster bed but didn't happen.Furniture very dated and looked like MFI gone wrong.Very small bathroom with no shelving to put toiletries. When we informed management we were leaving early on departure day was told they would leave takeaway breakfast but didn't happen. This is a very expensive hotel and would expect better.
