Detailed Reviews
B50 Chalet is in a prime location on the chalet site, it has 2 x double beds and a twin room and basic equipment.
The sea views from the living room window are picturesque with a reclining settee and 2 x chairs. It has a fold down table in the kitchen which would be even better/useful if there was space to keep it open for use, but there isn't, so it stands folded in the kitchen with the chairs folded in the living room.
The beds were comfy and made with freshly clean linen, bath towels and tea towel also provided. Maybe open wardrobes and shelving would make the bedrooms look bigger!
The chalet is a 5-10min walk to the beach, which stretches for approx 3 miles, glorious
The chalet needs a bit of an update eg more shelving in the bedrooms and bathroom and more clothes hooks, the chalet needs some TLC, the doors could do with new door handles, the shower base was cracked and some of the shower surround was very used, eg dark spots in the surround. Some of the bedroom drawers were well used.
If these small changes/TLC were completed this chalet would be very popular and I'm assuming more money!
Other than this we had a fab family holiday.

Property's Favourite Review
We have been staying at Toms for 15 years now ! It never disappoints us , the peace and quiet and lovely properties just get better each year.
The site is well maintained and the views are magnificent, even if you don’t choose a sea view property you are never far from a stunning view of estuary or sea in just a short walk.
Staff are friendly and helpful , you just can’t go wrong !

Stayed from 25th June for 7 nights. 3 adults. The chalet was immaculate and little welcome touches such as a fresh bunch of flowers, a pint of milk in the fridge, along with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Beds were freshly made. Rooms were of a nice size and the sofa in the living room was so comfortable.
We walked around the very clean park and loved how all the chalets were different in their own quirky way. F40 Bayford is situated on flat level ground and has a lovely veranda where you can sit and relax. If you stood to the edge of the chalet you could even see the beautiful ocean. Only a quick walk along the dunes to get the the golden beach, where I happily sat and watched the sun setting.
This was the first time staying on the site after many years of staying at another site, very close by. I wish I had found Tom's Holidays sooner! It is certainly worth the journey from Thirsk, North Yorkshire to my next favourite place of Cornwall.
I will be booking to stay here again for next summer.

Beautiful location with great views but C19 Old Towans needs thoroughly cleaning and updating!Walked in and the stench of mould and damp hits you straight away. Went and had a look round and thought it hadnt been cleaned. Dust everywhere, dirty shower cubicle full of mould and pink stains from the water, pee stains around toilet floor, mouldy skirting boards, dirty smelly fridge, dirty crocks, pans, utensils, fag ends, rubbish and weeds outside,I could go on but you get the idea!
No way is this for a family of four but if the bedrooms were knocked into one, it would be acceptable as you have to shuffle in sideways to get into both rooms.
The furniture needs updating as it's all old and shabby as it's it's been bought from a second hand shop. I wouldn't even use the cooker as this was also grubby. Paper duvets, rubber sheets but so glad I bought my own bedding.
They supplied the smallest bar of soap, a 10ml hand santizer, one pair of gloves and 1 loo roll, that's it, nothing else.
I spent the first evening and next morning cleaning and sanitizing the place and it came up ok, even managed to bleach the mould away from the skirting and shower cubicle for them.
I complained as soon as I got there about the state of the place, they assured me it had been cleaned and sanitized but no way on God's earth had it been done. I was dukt compensated but the state of the place spoilt the whole holiday. We couldn't leave as my daughter and son in law were on the same site (there place was lovely) so it would have meant spoiling their holiday too.
The bed was comfy and views outstanding but I would use Tom's holidays again. They need to up their game and comply to Covid19 rules and regs

Needs a sign post at front of property hard to find.
View is outstanding best I’ve ever had and great for people watching, walking to the beach takes 5 mins so location is great.
Steps to the property are very steep could do with a railing as my 11 year old daughter slipped and really hurt her back. She also cut her foot on the rusty table outside on the ant nested decking area.
The front door is covered in snails, spiders and cobwebs the grass down the steps is over grown and caused a few scratches to the legs when walking up and down the steps.
The chalet.. once you get over the million dollar view you start to notice the cleanliness of the chalet and all that’s wrong with it.. my husbands words in needs knocking down and rebuilding.
Porch smells of damp
Kitchen had all utensils needed but very old fashioned ( iron is under the sink, we only found this after we went out to buy one) the Lino on the floor is sticky, stained and disgusting bring slippers!
The carpet in the room was dirty stained and smelly again slippers needed.
We moved the sofa and the dirty sweet wrappers old pegs and crumbs behind it was awful, we turned the hoover on and the smell from the hoover smelt like a dead rat was in it.
The sofa was broken so only one chair would recline, it is dirty and stained and smells of vomit.
The windows need cleaning the wooden frames look rotten
Outside needs jet washing and ant nests need sorting.
The patio door has a rusty lock so hard to close,
The porch window latch is broken.
The table has stains all over it and a wobbly leg.
The double bed is against the wall so very small area hard to get in and out of without disturbing your partner.
I lost plenty of sleep from the crap plastic duvet cover that was like sleeping in a packet of crisps. The duvet cover didn’t close so kept coming away from the duvet. We ended up just sleeping with the cover over us, and me having to sleep on the sofa most nights, very uncomfortable.
The carpet in the bedroom is very stained. The walls smelt like vomit when you had to sleep up against them. And there must be a spiders nest as we must of had about 15 during our week.
The ceiling is warped looks like water damage.
The door in the toilet doesn’t open properly as the electric box is behind it I hurt my arm A few times on it.
We paid over £1k a week on this property for 4 of us. I would save your money and get something else unless they toms holiday take note and repair this one

Thank you for your review. We are sorry if you did not easily find the property. Due to the nature of the site, some properties are tucked away with more or less difficult accesses. We are sorry to hear about your daughter and will suggest the rail to the owner. We will be passing on all your comments to the owner of the property and will do all we can ourselves to address the issues you have raised. The duvets we are supplying this year have been approved by Cornwall Council as a good alternative to the usual duvets. These duvets can be sanitised by disinfecting but we understand they are not as comfortable but this did allow us to open in July. We could not launder the duvets, each week which we were told by authorities would be necessary and we could not supply new. We would have had to launder or dispose of in excess of 700 duvets each week, which apart from the waste, simply is not achievable. These alternative duvets are the best solution. However we have pointed this out in our pre arrival emails to guests stating that ……. Please remember to bring all your own pillows. We have removed all pillows for your safety. We have swapped the usual mattress protectors and duvets for those that can be disinfected before the bed is made up. The duvets provided have a waterproof surface. You may be more comfortable with your own duvet which you are welcome to bring but please ensure they are removed on departure. Certainly the views from these properties on the front are amazing and were pleased to hear you agree. Once again, thank you.

We booked to stay at Chycaron for 7 nights and paid £1,800 for the (dis) pleasure. I'll let the photos do most of the talking, but to put it simply, this property is absolutely not fit to rent out. It is quite literally falling apart. The ceilings leak when it rains, plaster crumbles inside the walls when you tap them, ceiling panels buldge where they've been damp and dried out. Massive cracks in the walls have been patched up. The walls inside are literally covered in cracks. The paper thin plasterboard is falling apart in most places. The fire extinguisher is well out of date. The cutlery drawer stank; it hadn't been cleaned. The green bin was full when we arrived and we weren't made aware of which day to put the bin out. The fence in the garden is falling apart. There is no step up to the decking, the washing line is held up with a few stones on the base. Most of the windows have been sealed shut or are just too stiff to open. The property isn't fit for the jackdaws nesting in the chimney or the sparrows nesting in the rusted, rotting awning, let alone for human habitation. The only saving grace about this property was the sea view, but I feel the owner is taking the p*ss completely, and cannot understand how Toms Holidays have allowed this property to be rented out in its current state. Also, we know it was mentioned on the website when booking, but we felt very uncomfortable having the owner living in his caravan next to the house while we were there. He's earning rental income while living at the property. A bit naughty in my opinion.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you did not feel that the property was suitable for your holiday; as a traditional Cornish beach house with a quarter of an acre of enclosed garden, Chycaron is an extremely popular holiday let for both couples and large families alike. The property has been modernised to approved building specifications and is light and spacious throughout, with large picture windows that offer spectacular views across St Ives Bay, all the way from Lelant Church to Godrevy Lighthouse. It has been voted the best view in Cornwall! Had we known that you were unhappy with the property we could have sent a Supervisor to rectify any problems immediately. For your reassurance the cosmetic issues raised in your review are dealt with by the owners on an ongoing basis. For clarity, the static caravan next to the drive which is mentioned on our website is for occasional use by the owner's son as a surf pod when the surf is good - it is not lived in year-round. On these occasions the owner is very discreet and does not use any of the main property or gardens.

We took our 3 year old grandson to the beach for a week. Recommended by my sister who has stayed at this site a few times, Toms Holidays was perfect, booking was straight forward and communication excellent.
Our chalet had all we needed with easy access to a sandy beach and life guards keeping us safe.
We stayed in B50 Kingfisher which was about 5 minutes walk to the beach access and play areas nearby. Very comfy chalet with excellent views across the bay to St Ives.
We took the coastal footpath to Hayle which was a pleasant 15 minute walk. Hayle has lovely shops and supermarkets close by. Also good shop on the site which provides for all your needs.
Hayle is a good base for south Cornwall being on the A30. We will definitely be re-booking.

We stayed on Toms holiday site last year and loved it so much we returned this year. Our house was really lovely - Lantiglos- well equipped, comfortable and great views which was a bonus ! The site is well maintained, such easy walking access to Hayle - away from the road infact, we discovered new routes this year and an easy walk to the beach. We have returned having had a wonderful holiday and already booked for next year !
The website is easy to use to search for houses snd there is always someone at the end of the phone to speak to regarding your booking. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating

We are staying at c41 windmills. The chalet on the outside seems clean and well maintained but when you step inside it is tired and outdated! The dinning table and chairs in the lounge, are so uncomfortable and the sofa/chairs look like they have come from a care home! The TV is tiny, and good luck trying to change the channel the remote is horrendous! Next the tiny kitchen with its green worktop and awful fridge. We have only just managed to get it to cool, far from cold. There is a huge crack in the top, which surely is a health and safety risk? The bathroom is OK but no shelves anywhere or in the shower, so had to leave toiletries on the floor. It says the shower was replaced this year, but I hate to think what the shower was like before as there is no shower pressure at all, which makes it difficult to wash your hair. I think the cleaners have an aversion to cleaning the ceilings/coving, full of cobwebs! The extractor fan in the bathroom makes such a loud awful noise, it's sounds as it a plane is. Flying over. There are no chest of drawers in any of the bedrooms which in inconvient. This chalet defiantly has a thing for having sinks in bedrooms which is odd. There is no obvious place where you should park, which is confusing. We had to park at the bottom of a steep slope which we had to climb multiple times a day. The slope is very steep and dangerous, the owners definitely need to build steps to the property. The owners have tried to make improvements such as new blinds, artwork and chairs outside but the whole chalet needs renovating desperately! We have stayed at Tom's before and the site is very clean and peaceful and is in a great location, we will visit again but definitely to a different chalet!!

Staying at C2 Lanta gives you a front-row seat to the unparalleled beauty of St Ives Bay. This view is the showstopper and remains the accommodation's crowning glory. Waking up to the sight of Cornwall's St Ives Bay was a daily pleasure, and the short 2–3-minute walk to the beach, a notable convenience. This isn't just any beach; it’s a sweeping 3-mile stretch of golden sands which is not over commercialised. With the reassuring presence of RNLI lifeguards and the proximity of establishments like the Bluff Inn and the Cove Cafe, the beachside experience was good.
However, the journey to the beach, despite its location, posed a challenge. The path, in its current state, is overgrown with nettles and prickly plants, making each trip a test of one's resolve against nature. Our feelings about the accommodation are a mixed bag. Its prime location is its most significant selling point, but the actual state of the property doesn’t quite live up to the increasing costs of staying here. Year on year, the rates have gone up, but sadly, the standard of upkeep hasn’t kept pace, raising value for money concerns.
Parking, to put it mildly, was a frequent headache. The already narrow spaces were made even more chaotic by visitors who didn’t always respect the reserved bays. It often felt like a game of Tetris getting our car into its spot, especially for those with larger vehicles. The property's sleeping accommodation is a bit optimistic. Although it claims to accommodate up to six adults, it's a tight squeeze. The bedrooms felt rather compact, and the lack of storage space is a problem.
On the cleanliness front, the property was mostly spotless, apart for the oversight of a grimy grill pan. What raised more significant concern was the past evidence of mould in various spots, likely from the winter dampness.
In Summary: While C2 Lanta’s location is undeniably its strength, the overall stay oscillated between pleasing and underwhelming. While the surrounding beauty and beach proximity are massive pluses, the property itself could benefit from some serious attention to detail and maintenance.

Hi, yes you are right. Dogs are restricted on the beach just in front of the park during the day between May and September but walk 5 mins along the costal path to Mexico towans and you are fine on the next 2 miles of beach all day every day. If you would like to drop us an email I can forward you a beach map of West Cornwall where dogs are allowed and restricted.
Most chalets have access to free park wifi (although this isn't idea for streaming). Some chalets have private wifi and these are searchable via our website filters. For more information please give our friendly reception staff a call before booking!
