We arrived in Hayle in gloomy and misty conditions but our spirits were immediately brightened by the lovely staff. Everyone we encountered was accommodating and happy to help. The rooms were nice enough but compared to the other places we had been staying were quite pricey, for what they were. Never the less the food was very reasonably priced especially with breakfast included being a welcomed surprise.

We stayed here for one night in June. The hotel is a little dated but has old world charm.
Our room was absolutely fine, we had a large bathroom with complementary toiletries which were appreciated.
All the staff we encountered from bar staff to cleaners and breakfast waiting staff were so lovely and friendly.
The breakfast was very nice and plentiful.
Only downside was people sitting at the tables outside under our windows chatting until quite late - but a tap on the window sent them away!
We would stay here again

I had a look at a few hotels before booking the White Hart and the primary reason was the location (as I was traveling by train). A £100 a night for a single room, it was not cheap, but was cheaper than the 2 chain hotels on the outskirts of Hayle.

My room was very much in keeping with the Hotel and was furnished in accordance with the age (it was not modern furniture). However, the room had everything I needed. There was tea/coffee making facilities, a small fridge (although this did make some noise), a small tv, dressing table, wardrobe. The bed was comfy. The room was clean. I did have trouble opening the window, as it was very warm and after it was opened, i was not able to close it. The bathroom again was not modern, but served a purpose and had a bath with a shower. The free wifi was not very good on the top floor.

I was on the top floor which was not an issue and my room overlooked a road, which although was not busy all the time, it could be noisy (as the windows are not double glazed).

Breakfast was nice and plenty of it. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a couple of drinks in the bar, which was ok (there was a quiz night on Wednesday).

I would stay here again. However, if the other hotels were cheaper, I would probably go for them.

We got to the hotel about four thirty and nobody in reception. The keys were to picked up in the bar and our room was on the other side of the courtyard out the back of the hotel. Lots of the paving in the courtyard is very loose and you have to be careful walking over it. Our room(19) was up some narrow steep steps and we found it a bit poky with bits of the curtain rail lying on the windowsill. There were only 3 hangers in the wardrobe, the pillows were thin and offered no support at all. The bathroom was the complete downfall though, broken tiles in the shower, dirty tiles under the sink, the sink is cracked and the light above the mirror doesn't work at all. The toilet is badly placed to access the toilet paper, you've got to be a contortunist to get the toilet paper. In the public area of the hotel the phone signal and internet reception is extremely hit and miss so don't depend on it. The only decent thing about the place is the food. Breakfast which has to be ordered the night before was good and we ate in the restaurant on Sunday evening and the meal was excellent with plenty of it. Anyway at £100 for a couple per night it's definitely NOT worth the money so go somewhere else..

We liked that this hotel was catering for locals and visitors alike.
Excellent service in the bar, at the breakfast table, at the Dinner table and at reception. Without fuss chef gave us a packed lunch in lieu of breakfast when we had to sail early to the Isles of Scilly
A small issue in our bedroom was resolved promptly and professionally.
Would certainly return.

I was not impressed with my meal, the goats cheese tartlet pastry was so hard I could not cut it, there was limited vegetable choice, although the sprouts were delicious. The 2 people in our party who had the salmon said it was amazing. We were not offered cranberry sauce, etc., and had to ask for it. I cannot justify the £18.50 for 2 courses so will not be returning. I noticed the desserts were priced at £5.50 usually thus making a roast lunch £13.50!! So we paid a hefty fee for a cracker!

The lady who took the money at the end was so slow and I had to remind her to deduct the deposits paid!

The staff serving the lunches, however, were amazing and could not do enough for us.

This pub/hotel is truly terrible - like staying at your Great Grannies and not in a good way! We were booked to stay by the company that organised our walking holiday and our night here followed a lovely stay at The Harbour Hotel in St Ives, so it came as a very disappointing shock. A trek through the grotty pub across the car park took us to our motel-style room, with furniture out of the 1930’s, smelling of Shake and Vac to disguise god-knows what! The bathroom was functional, with a dirty toilet brush on display and black mould around the grouting in the shower, but plentiful hot water.
The only redeeming feature was a decent breakfast served by cheerful, friendly staff.

My wife and I and teenage daughter stayed here for 2 nights in August.
We ate in the modern airy conservatory on Saturday night and had breakfast there too, the food was really good and was excellent value.
Our room in the stable block was clean and had an excellent shower.
The bar area was full of locals on Saturday night and although friendly was slightly intimidating. I loved the old feel about the main hotel building but I could understand why others might not.
All in all a great find and a place we’d return too.

Great hotel in the middle of Hayle.
Friendly staff and close to bus routes for all local attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Reasonably priced only thing I would mention is have better WIFI as the local signal isn’t the best………..

Stayed for 3 nights in August 2023. Within a 3 minute walk of the train station so can get about to explore wider Cornwall with ease. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, rooms were a decent size although the shower was somewhat temperamental in terms of heat and power of the water. Very good atmosphere in the place and the breakfast was good every morning; opted to explore the area for our other meals. Parking can also be a slight problem as there aren’t many spaces but plenty of streets nearby.
