We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We have stayed in the Premier Inn a few times this year in different places around the south of England and always find them very reliable friendly clean and comfortable. Hayle is very near St Ives and we left our car in St Erth station carpark and caught the train to St Ives. I would recommend this because it is very hard to park in St Ives and it was such fun looking out the window at the lovely scenery from the train window. We also drive to lovely Mousehole, Penzance and St Michaels Mount. which is not far from our hotel. Also, I recommend buying a Cornish Pasty from Philp's bakery in Hayle, very tasty.

Premier inn hayle is a good location base for site seeing and wonderful beaches handy McDonald’s m&s next etc on site. Premier inn was clean and tidy especially important in current climate managers were helpful cleaning staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble. Wish we could say same about food breakfast first day was not good terrible service no waitress to take our order food was cold and either over cooked or under cooked price has increased but as no longer self service you end up with a lot less for your money, second day slightly better at least we had nice waitress but food only marginally better definitely not worth the money and wouldn’t eat in their again despite staying another two days we are well used to premier inns and the breakfast was by far the worst we’ve had definitely give restaurant a miss

I was handed a big bag of bed linen, towels and loo paper to make up my own room (and then did the same for a room for a more elderly member of the party) as the hotel is chronically short of staff and unable to provide housekeeping services. I went to a local supermarket to get cleaning materials (and an iron), but couldn’t find a mop or vacuum cleaner in the store (the hotel would not lend me theirs). I put on my own pillowcases, bundled the duvet into the duvet cover and fitted the bedsheet; I filled up the loo paper dispenser, placed towels on the rack and cleaned everywhere. I then went down to the front desk to get coffee sachets and a mug plus also a bath mat as this wasn’t in my linen bag.

The manager said that they had very few and totally insufficient staff numbers; that three of their newer employees had simply never showed up for work; that other staff remained on furlough; and that the hotel was unable to recruit as Whitbread would not pay a sufficiently differential salary (the salary offer is apparently £1,600 per month versus £1,200 on Universal Credit); that whilst radio adverts had gone out for Whitbread recruiting, they had no success in finding anyone for Hayle. They need staff for reception, housekeeping and the pub/restaurant. However, with 100% occupancy right through until the end of the summer, they said they weren’t too concerned. The staff called me either “darling” or “love”.

The whole experience felt more like being in a youth hostel than one of the UK’s leading hotel chains. Although I booked an advance rate, fully flexible rates are now £160 to 180 per night - nice money especially if you have to make up your own bed and clean your own room. I have stayed in well over 20 Premier Inns, including two others recently since the lockdown ended but this was the worst experience by far and makes me rethink what the Premier Inn brand really means.

The duty manager did not wear a mask in the hotel corridors, nor did the housekeeper who gave me the linen bags at my room door. But the other hotel guests did. Other guests dumped their room rubbish in the hotel corridor as it wasn’t being emptied due to the staff shortages, giving a slightly squalid feeling.

To finish on a positive note, this hotel is extremely well located for Gwithian beach, Godrevy’s Lighthouse, St. Ives/Carbis Bay and St. Michael’s Mount.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Premier Inn, Hayle. The staff were really welcoming and extremely friendly. The room was what you’d expect from the Premier Inn clean and comfortable, though things were done a little different to what they usually are because of COVID. Any top ups like clean or extra towels, toilet paper etc had to go through reception as housekeeping staff were not allowed to enter your rooms during your stay. That did mean having to make your own bed but that just meant throwing the duvet over, also if your bins needed emptying then you had to leave them outside your room for the housekeeping staff to empty. The only thing I would point out is that the toilet could of done with a little bleach in the toilet bowl as it was a little brown inside and the rooms were quite hot even though we were supplied with a fan, I also had a portable air conditioner in my room but was to noisy to have on during the night. My sons room and my daughters room only had a fan each but no portable air conditioner. Breakfast next door at the Brewers Fayre was really good and again the staff were friendly and welcoming. Sometimes the top up of breakfast food was a little slow but that wasn’t a problem. Parking was plenty. I would definitely recommend

We were welcomed by Hayden who could not have been more helpful, another manager carried our bags up to our room, the room was clean large and the hotel had arranged extra mobile air conditioning to help alleviate the heatwave we were experiencing. All the staff were very friendly.
The Brewers Fayre restaurant was extremely busy and were short staffed but the managed to cope well.
The breakfasts were awesome especially where the grand kids were concerned.
Al in all, great.

32 degrees in our family room the whole stay, no air con.

The Restaurant well where do I start.

Our taxi was delayed and the baby was hungry by the time we got back. We were a few minutes before the carvery closed and I asked to pay for a full carvery for the baby so she could eat as it was nearly 7pm she hadn't had tea. The lady at the bar would jot let me get any food despite people still getting food from there and there being so much which would be going in the bin.

There was food and sweets all over the floor. My husband asked for it to be cleaned and was handed a dustpan and brush.

Our food order over £160 took an hour to come out. We were offered our puddings half an hour before we had our mains. Then they wouldn't allow us to order pudding for the other children because food stopped at 9. They did allow this after we complained about the wait time for food. Half of the puddings had already been paid for as they were kids meals.

The rooms were so hot and our window had blown it looked horrible.

We have stayed at Hayle Premier Inn for many years( in excess of 15 yrs ). It has never changed in the respect that it is as good now as it was 15 years ago. The Brewers next door is great. The fish and chips are great value before 18.00 on weekdays ( £8.99 for 2 at the time of this review) upgrade for £1 for the large it's mega.

We stayed last week for 3 nights in a family room. Overall as you would expect from a Premier Inn - room was clean and staff were friendly. Great location for travelling around and as our room was at the back of the hotel was very quiet at night. However, the room temperature was just too hot - nearly 30 degrees for our whole stay. The window only opens slightly so there is no chance to get any air in that way and its just not possible or ideal to always have your door propped open to let air in that way. This made our stay quite uncomfortable.

Also worth noting for those travelling with bikes that despite the website saying that all Premier Inn hotels are bike friendly and that it is your choice as to whether you keep your bike in your room or you can have them securely stored - there is no bike storage at this hotel aside from a couple of bike racks directly outside the front entrance.

Storage for families in the room is practically non existent, with only 6/7 hangers in the wardrobe area and one small drawer. Why do Premier Inns not even have hooks on the wall/door to hang coats/hoodies on etc??

Would not stay here again.
