Powered by AI
St Ives Bay Beach Resort offers a picturesque location with easy beach access that many guests love, yet some reviewers have raised concerns about the level of cleanliness throughout. While the friendly and helpful staff often receive commendations, there are occasional critiques regarding service efficiency.
Travelers appreciate the resort's amenities, although opinions are mixed, with praise for clean accommodations but calls for updates to the pool, furnishings, and overall atmosphere. The value proposition of the resort is debatable, as some guests find the pricing steep in relation to the quality of food and rooms.

Detailed Reviews
Having visited this holiday park from 2010-2015 as a teenager on family holidays, I'd sorely missed Cornwall and wanted to eagerly return when finance would allow. After graduating university, I decided I'd live that out and bring my partner to experience everything I had growing up, and neither of us were disappointed in the slightest. Covid-19 had little to no impact on our stay, and it very much felt like a normal holiday given the circumstances of the pandemic. The Holiday Park itself is in the perfect location for accessing the length and breadth of Cornwall's rich heritage and attractions; 20 minutes to St Ives, 30 to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, and roughly an hour to the Eden Project even in moderate traffic. On arrival we were met with big smiles and extremely helpful staff, who continued to brighten our holiday, especially in the Sands Bar. We stayed in a Crofty Caravan which was SPOTLESS on arrival with plenty of living room and a beautiful view of the sea and lighthouse. The track and trace system in place is swift and effective, simply giving your caravan number and booking name on entry to the Sands Bar and when ordering at the Bay Bistro. The bistro and bar prices were fair; however, whilst I don't agree with my partner's sentiment, she believes the food is slightly overpriced for its overall quality. By no means does that take away from our experience and stay at St Ives Bay Holiday Park. Looking at next year with my eager family after their 5 year hiatus!

This has to be possibly our 10th visit to St Ives Bay Holiday park. Previous visits as a family of 4, this was pur first as a couple. We stayed in an easy access caravan. On checking into our van it was absolutly spotless. It had a beautiful view of the sea and Gwithian lighthouse. The doors within the van were all sliding doors, with handrails within the bathroom.
There was plenty of room within the van. It felt spacious with a wooden cladded ceiling. It was warm with a gas fire and heaters in bedrooms and a heated towel rail within the bathroom. The only negative was the shower had a life of its own. Going from warm to freezing within a second.
We used the pool twice. Due to Corvid restrictions they have a limit to how many people are let in per hour. You will have a 45 min session. You are unable to use the changing rooms.
We visited the Sands Bar a few times. The tables were spaced apart with a Socially distanced queue for the bar. It had a really chilled atmosphere. The decking outside has the most breathtaking views especially at sunset. The Bistro is reasonably priced with food being served in takeaway boxes.
There are security staff at the entrance to the park, on patrol.and within the bars.
When you enter the bar or bistro you are asked for details for track and trace.
I always feel sad leaving as we always enjoy our holiday here. It's a fabulous base to visit attractions in the locality. Friendly, safe and very reasonably priced. I know we will return here.

We have just returned and will defo go back. Great site, with access to the beach, but not suitable for the less mobile.
The Caravan was clean, however found that cutlery and crockery were not very clean and was worst for my parents caravan as still had lipstick marks on glasses and dirty pans. I would have expected them to be cleaned thoroughly, especially with the current pandemic.
The site has a shop for any 1st day essentials, however there is a Lidl a short distance away.
Small bar, and reasonable prices for a campsite. The bistro we used once and was not great food.
All public areas adhering to Covid standards and the swimming pool access was 45 mins time slots, as they clean the area every hour.
Our caravan was in a great location with sea views and ample private space to sit outside and make the most of the sunshine.

We travelled from North Yorkshire with 5 children to spend a week here and boy was the long journey worth it! We stayed in caravan 632 which had decking and an amazing view out to Godrevy Lighthouse. The caravan was spotless and facilities at the holiday park are spot on. We had sausage buns and coffee from the bistro one morning which was nice and very reasonably priced. The children swam in the in door pool most mornings which they loved and they have measures in place for covid and cleaning- you turn up on the hour in your swimwear and you get 45mins in the pool and then they clean. We spent two days on the gorgeous 3 mile beach which even on bank holiday Monday we found a lovely quiet space on. There’s loads to do from here- visited at Michael’s mount which would highly recommend, Lappa Valley and the Eden project and we got the bus to st ives one day (the bus leaves from just outside the site). We will be back for sure- tried to book for October half term but they’re already fully booked which is no surprise.

After reading recent reviews I have to say I was anxious about our stay.
I used to stay here every year as a child, therefore I have very fond memories.
Myself and my family stayed in an A4* chalet.
We were unable to make our arrival date, so I contacted the reception team to inform them and it was not a problem at all.
On arrival check in was great, however once in the chalet it wasn't the best, especially with covid and cleanliness. The chalet wasn't spotless, clumps of grass on the lounge carpet, hair in the shower and quavers under the twin bed. I instantly went to reception and this was quickly rectified with the whole chalet being cleaned to a spotless condition. The chalet is basic but has everything that you need, but remember to take your own towels.
The site is a large site, with beach parking(free parking which is a bonus with a staycation). We drove each day to the beach car park as it is a good walk with a little one and all of our beach gear. The walk down to the beach is fine, but the walk back up is tricky, however with slow steps it's fine. The beach is a large beach with plenty of room to distance yourselves from others. We had plenty of fun in the sea, flying kites and building sandcastles! The beach can get windy so a windbreak is a good idea.
The swimming pool is good especially for little ones. At the moment with covid, sessions are for 45 mins with a fifteen min break in-between due to extra cleaning, the swimming pool is free of charge and you can go in as many times as you like.
We used the Sands Bar and Bistro Bar throughout our stay. We felt that the prices were reasonably priced, especially with what you would pay down the road in St Ives. The food was good along with the drinks.
There are plenty of parks dotted around for children, which our little one loved .
We did use the Arcade below the Dynamite Bar, however later on in the evening it does get very busy so we would take our little one early on in the evening each time there was only us in there or maybe one other family.
There is a laundrette on site which we used and the use of irons are free.
There's a Nisa shop on site which is a little pricey however it does have all essentials that you might need. There is also a Lidil down the road literally a minute away in the car or there is an Asda down in Hayle.
We didn't use the dynamite club therefore I can't really pass comment. However with regards to comments on here about the loud screen at Sands Bar we didn't feel that it was loud at all and it didn't really have an effect on us.
We found that all people on the site we friendly and would often say morning, laugh and pass comment on the hill to the beach or make polite chitchat.
For a young family I feel that it's a great place, basic accommodation, beach and swimming pool on your doorstep along with a little arcade and parks.
Although we had the hiccup on arrival which was quickly solved everything else was great and we had a fabulous family holiday, and the sun shined for us every day!

We stayed in a chalet, which was clean on arrival, no complaints or problems there. Check in was socially distanced and well organised with one person from each booking collecting keys and welcome packs from the Bar with lots of staff on site to give directions. The Site is in an excellent location for the beach but it is only accessible via steps (or by sliding down the dunes as lots of children were doing!) So probably not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. A short 10 minute walk or two minute drive to Lidl, and there is an Asda in Hayle about a 5 minute drive away. Also a nearby services and retail park with a McDonald’s, coffee shops and Boots about a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive. The bistro is currently serving all food in takeaway boxes, but you can eat in the conservatory or on the terrace overlooking the beach. The Sands bar is also open. There is no WiFi except in the bars, which you will either love as you can get your children to take a break from screens or hate if you don’t have a good data allowance. Also the televisions are very small but if you are out and about visiting attractions or on the beach then that is not an issue. From our chalet which was nearer the main entrance it was about a 10 minute walk to the beach but you can use the beach car park which is very handy if you are taking surf boards or lots of stuff to the beach. Would highly recommend and will most definitely stay here again as it is very reasonably priced.

We have just returned from our week's caravan holiday in our favourite place. We first took our six month old daughter there in 2005,and her little sister followed in 2007. So sixteen years of holidays and sometimes twice a year. I'm not a complainer particularly about this wonderful park. It was family owned for nearly sixty years and sold to Away Resorts earlier this year.
The caravan cost nearly £1000 for the week but was filthy when we checked resulting in us cleaning the toilets ourselves amongst other things. The Bay Bistro was a little gem where you could buy kids meals like chicken nuggets, chips and beans for £4.99 and a slush puppy for £1.50. Burger meals for £7.00. All reasonable prices for a holiday camp basic cafeteria. A new menu was always going to happen with new owners but blatant greed is disgusting. £10.50 for burger and chips. £13.50 for fish and chips and £12.75 for a pizza! No kids main meals available. Small chips £3.10 , you get the idea by now. My daughter and I shared a pizza and chips and were served by a young lad. There were no plates, cutlery or napkins with the meal so I politely asked for some. He shrieked "What do you want?" as if I was asking for something unreasonable. I didn't want to embarrass my daughter and asked for cutlery as a bare minimum. He stormed off, returned and slammed the knives and forks on our table and stormed back off again. Again,I didn't want a scene to ruin our holiday so let it go. He was lucky I wasn't alone because I would have reported his unacceptable behaviour.
The Bisto was very quiet all week instead of being packed every other year. Nobody likes to be ripped off and receive abuse on their precious holiday. The new owners have also removed an excellent Bay Bistro food van which was located outside the main entertainment venue,The Dynamite club. It was always busy and no food is now served on camp after nine o'clock! It's been replaced with show caravan to admire.
In front of the Sands bar you have the best view anywhere of the sea and St Ives across the bay with the sunset as a backdrop. Just the sound of the sea and families chatting an taking pictures while they sip a cool drink. Oh sorry that was last year. This year you have a giant screen bolted on to the side of the terrace belting out karaoke from all the other Away Resorts. Sheer bliss.
You cannot book in advance for next year anymore but I don't think many regulars will return anyway to be ripped off. We certainly won't which is a great shame after so many wonderful memories. End of era indeed.

We booked last year after friends advised us of change of ownership. Now accepting dogs it was time to give it a go. We usually stay on Toms holiday park but the prices are now too high fo two adults and two small dogs. We paid just over £800 for a fortnight in a one bedroom chalet. Wow what a great price. On arrival we were quite early but was given our key straight away. The chalet is plenty big enough for two adults and two dogs. The bedroom has plenty of room. The kitchen area is adequate for a self catering holiday although I did report the cooker as the oven seemed to overheat and there are no markings on any of the dials to indicate what temperature the oven and the hobs are (health and safety alert) The living area a good size too. The bathroom had a shower cubicle and could do with updating (the shower door was difficult to close and had mould around the bottom edges. There is no vacuum cleaner or long handled brush which in my opinion is needed when you have dogs. I went to reception and explained I have a disability and cannot get down on the floor and carpet to use a brush and pan. They contacted cleaning services but they did not have a vacuum cleaner spare. The lady on reception offered me theirs to use but I would have to return it after each use. No worries I said I will go and buy a cheap vacuum stick instead. (purchased from B&M in Penzance)
We had a little grassed area to the front which was great to sit out and relax. The site on the whole was very clean. Our dogs certainly did not leave any mess behind and we did not see any either. If dogs are under control then they should be allowed to have a great holiday too. Thank you to the young girl who came to our chalet on the first night with a gift for both of our dogs. They loved their toys and blankets and the treats and portable water bowls came in very handy. I did here a few people complaining but for what we paid I can only say it was great value for money. Would be nice to see an ice cream van going around the site at least once a day. Whilst there I booked us in for two weeks next year and again a great price. I might even book a week at the top of the park with hot tub for November. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from 2 weeks with our touring caravan. From arriving staff were welcoming and friendly. Pitch was clean and well kept and a great size. The site itself is well kept and the touring facilities were kept spotless, saw cleaners going in from 7am up until 11.30 at night. The bar overlooking the beach is very well organised with fantastic views. Site security regularly patrol the site ensuring everything is OK. The only negative thing I can say is that on leaving caravans were arriving onto pitch from 8am which did interrupt when trying to pack up and leave. We are booking for next year as its a fantastic site and great value for money.

Just returned from a 2 week stay July 2020. Slightly worried before travelling due to the current situation with covid but needn’t have been. Felt safe, site was clean, changes well thought through & very enjoyable.
Week 1 in a pod. Was concerned about the shared shower / toilets / dishwashing however the site have invested in extra cleaning, one way system & hand sanitiser. Shower block very clean & kept on top of. Great little adventure, kids , loved the bunk beds.
Week 2 in a ‘Crofty’ caravan, amazing view of the lighthouse, clean & comfortable but worth taking a toaster with you as the vans don’t have them.
Pool was open with dedicated time slots, no changing facilities arrive & leave for your slot in your swimwear. We actually preferred this & it was well managed by the pool staff.
Didn’t venture into the bars we didn’t actually miss this or the evening entertainment, taking time to watch the sunset was much better!
well looked after site, staff were very helpful, grounds well kept & even the window cleaner took time to chat to us. Don’t be put off by some recent complainers we are a family of 4 this was our second stay & already looking at returning next year. Fabulous location & the beaches are better than we have experienced abroad. Support the UK, holiday in our wonderful country. Well done St Ives Bay, see you in 2021!

They did a children's one when we were there, not sure about adults
It would be a bit awkward as it's a board walk with lots of steps, but the beach is amazing, hope this helps
The exclusive accommodation has Wi-Fi. The rest don’t, and I found the mobile signal to be really poor on site even though I had what looked like full 4G. Absolutely fine on the beach. There is free Wi-Fi in the bar and entertainment venue.
Hi yes it’s just in the restaurant/pub and the entertainment venue.
