Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Staff fully accommodating to our needs. Unfortunately it does back on to another with loud music, but the music was good. Site clean, toilets clean and a well stocked shop. They do operate a camp fire set up near the tents at a charge (firepit rental and wood purchase from the shop). We weren't too keen on this, but didn't upset our stay. Beach nearby is lovely, although 15 minute walk, it is a walk either by the footpath, or the road (which can get busy). We would recommend and most probably be back. Thank you!

The site is very nice, the showers clean, we didn't mind paying 50p for 5 mins hot water, the play area is lovely. We ordered pizzas from their takeaway and they were very good. The tiered pitches are nice and flat, I wouldn't want to camp on their other pitches as they are very slopping. There is a bit of a view of the sea which is beautiful and the beach nearby is great. The pitches are quite close to one another but over all it was a nice site... however what their website fails to mention and what they didn't say when we booked is that their site backs onto another venue. I appreciate that they cannot change this but they really ought to tell people about this so that they can make informed decisions. Some people won't mind this and will probably even like being able to go to the venue. The first night there was karaoke until 11.45pm. There was no point in us saying anything to the staff as we only had one more night and wouldn't have been able to move the tent. The second night there was a dreadful live band that played until 10.30pm. We had young children and struggled to get them to sleep, so of course they were tired and teasy during the weekend spoiling our short break. The second night I was woken at 3.20am to someone from the neighbouring venue singing at the top of their voice. I did contact the camp site after we got home, but a week later and they have not responded. I wish I had the ability to attach videos to demonstrate just how loud the music was.

We loved it here . We spent 5 nights . The site was great . Toilets and showers were cleaned regularly ( showers are charged so take some 50ps with you ) I have seen a few bad reviews about charging for the showers but on the flip side the WiFi is free and in other sites we’ve had to pay for it x I spoke to one of the ladies that cleaned and she was lovely. Didn’t get her name but she was from the Rhondda . Really helpful and gave us lots of places to visit x We also had trouble with our electric hook up it was a bit short , so the maintenance guy lent us an extension. The staff were all really nice and friendly. The area is quite and scenic. We visited some beautiful places while here . The lizard and Kynance cove being the closest. These are a must see . You’ll need good shoes for all the walking.

We made the mistake of not checking the reviews before we booked and now wish we had! Arrived to the campsite and a friendly man in the shop/reception gave us a map and our pitch number and off we went. This is when it started to go downhill.. We arrived at our pitch number to find 2 picnic tables sat in the middle of it, in a muddy patch. The pitch to our left had 2 patches of dead grass, where tents had been before, so we assumed that we had one of those spots and we were next to a picnic area. We set up and went to get supplies in town. I then had a phone call from “reception” to say we were in wrong pitch and we had to move as a caravan needed the pitch. On our return to the site we stopped in the shop and questioned the tables on our pitch etc.. the girl I spoke to was very rude, unhelpful and had no interest… kept saying “you should of just moved the tables or come and asked!” Her lack of any customer service skills and they way in which she spoke to us only made it worse! Never have we been to a site and had to rearrange a picnic spot, so that we can set up our tent! So we had to move..in the rain… the pitch we were given was small and stunk of dog poo, kindly left by another person, along with fag butts, old tea bag’s etc… which to me suggests that the pitches are not checked or cleaned before each new visitor arrives! The facilities on site are very, very basic. The showers are 50p for 5 minutes…the floors were not very clean, with mud and grass and had hair blocking the drain and very little water pressure.. but at least they were hot. The toilet block again was very basic but useable but did not always have loo roll in them. I cannot comment on the shop or food facilities, as we did not use them. The walk to the beach is at the bottom of the campsite and was extremely overgrown and quite slippy and muddy… definitely not wheelchair or pushchair accessible… use the road instead. Also, a warning to parents with young children, there was very loud music /entertainment on Friday evening..,going on until 11pm.. which you might want to bear in mind if you have small children to get to sleep. Considering the premium price we paid, you are getting extremely basic conditions and this is the worst we have been to. There must be much better in the area, so please do your research before you part with your money.

On arriving we realised that although it included bed linen that does not mean they actually make the bed up which is a shame after a long journey with tired children and you get to see the dirt on the duvets while making the beds that wasn’t pleasant. Also do not do a shop before you arrive they don’t have the fridge switched on for arrival apparently that’s normal according to the rude girl in the shop ( that’s also reception) and also the freezer is a tiny compartment one so don’t buy to much. It did get cold pretty quick though so that was lucky. The free wifi doesn’t work at all either and signal is bad that’s ok with us but just in case you need it you won’t get it. Our little one unfortunately wet the bed one evening we took the stuff up and apologised but they did not offer anything in replacement so had to go out and buy stuff for him!! We won’t be returning here but the site was clean and tidy and in a good location. There is better places to stay nearby for us.

Very bad experience. We arrived with our two boys and two dogs after 7 hours driving and unfortunately the weather was very bad, very windy with heavy rain. There was only 3 tents set on the site, so we have asked site manager (very arrogant lady), what condition our pitch is, and she just replied at the moment is fine but I can't say what would be like tomorrow. We have booked our pitch last October, it cost £800, so I asked if she could refund 50% due to bad pitch condition and the weather and she said that, they would get bankrupt if they would have to refund booked pitches due to bad weather. We will definitely not come back to this site. Toilets far from normal and paid showers! The only one advantage of this campsite is the view and close location to the beech, but £800 for a grass pitch, it is far too much price. For less, we could spend our holiday at Elysian Fields in Helston, which I highly recommend.

Nothing open, not even the shop! Nowhere to get food and only one set of toilets/showers open (albeit they were very clean). Only place we have stayed that charge for showers, although they do make this clear at booking. Stayed at several other sites in the same week which just further highlighted how lacking in facilities this place is, even though they charge the same regardless!

We decided to stay at Chy Carne as the website said shop, reception, pizza take away, close to the beach, looked amazing, it was double the price of other campsites in the area but we thought if we could get a drink, a takeaway and be close to the beach be worth it. We arrived late at night - woke up next morning to pop up to reception to say we had arrived - NOT OPEN. There is a static home opposite, people looked at us, didnt come over. Didnt ever even check in? No Reception in 3 days? The on site Shop advertised it would be open for 1 hr in the AM and 1 hr in the PM - it didnt it was SHUT didnt open ONCE in 3 days! Pizza Cafe CLOSED since 28th August! The advertised state of the art toilets and showers are the standard wooden painted doors, and the icing on the cake had to pay for a shower!!!! DISGUSTING! So 3 nights £140 to park a camper on grass and use a toilet, absolutely awful never ever again would we stay here It was £24 for two dogs to stay! the dog poo bins were full, cant really see what that charge was for? Didnt even see a dog water bowl on site? The outdoor bar area very run down, actually a shed adjoining a tent The play areas very run down and disappointing Very very poor site, no customer service, complete waste of money
