To the south, lovely sandy beaches and pretty fishing harbours lie along the coast. Several excellent golf courses are also in the area. Detailed Reviews
Rosecraddock Manor's location is great, being a 25 minute drive to a plethora of Cornwall's beaches, and confident drivers will navigate the occasional single track roads of the area with caution. The nearest town is Liskeard; a 10 minute drive away, where you will find Aldi and Morrisons, etc.
We stopped in the Heron apartment for four nights. The well kept grounds of the manor are quiet with only the sound of the waterfall to lull you to sleep. The Heron apartment has been hugely updated compared to the pictures you find on the booking site, now being a beautifully appointed and spacious studio room complementing the rustic charm of the building. It comprises a built-in wardrobe plus amply storage drawers, comfortable double bed, two seat sofa and dining area for four people, opening into a well equipped kitchen with integrated appliances. The fridge features an ice compartment and the new hob is electric, if you were contemplating going all Ken Hom.
There is a decent sized tv in the studio, with a standard HDMI input should you wish to connect a tablet/games console, but you may wish to factor in the need to pay for WiFi on a per-device basis as 4G mobile signal is unsurprisingly patchy, given the stunning location surrounded by trees.
The entire living area is bright without direct sunlight, meaning the room stayed wonderfully cool in the recent heatwave. The separate shower room is also well designed and modern. The shower isn't the most powerful, but perfectly suitable for its purpose.
Things to take: bath towels, toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid. You have stuff provided to get you started, including tea towels, Jay cloths and Dettol surface spray. However, the apartment is superbly cleaned and easy to maintain.
This could easily be a holiday spent relaxing around the serene grounds, or visiting the nearby attractions such as Golitha Falls, Carnglaze caverns, Bodmin Jail, Jamaica Inn, the nearby towns, villages and beaches. However you chose to enjoy it, just know how easily you will sleep that night.

My partner and I visited Rosecraddoc Manor in the last week of June 2021 following a search on Google for accommodation near Looe. We initially booked an apartment in the main Manor House but we were upgraded to a Riverview Villa. Upon arrival due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were greeted with an envelope with instructions on how to find the house and our keys. The grounds were very impressive and picturesque and we enjoyed many walks around with our dog. It was silent during the evenings, much unlike city centre life!
The house itself has two parking spaces next to it, one for your house and one space for the house next to it. I think it could be quite tight turning around there if you were not confident reversing over the little bridge back to the main drive of Rosecraddoc but this was not an issue for us at all as the space for the house next door was empty all week so we could easily turn around :-)
The house was very clean and presentable and had all the utensils we needed in the kitchen along with hand wash in each of the bathrooms. The bathrooms were really nice and modern and felt light and airy - especially the one upstairs. The house had a really nice feeling to it and it was really nice how there is a balcony with table and chairs out of the main bedroom with views overlooking the grounds and river below. You can hear the river flowing constantly which is very relaxing! There was a dishwasher and washing machine in the kitchen along with toaster and microwave. There is also a table outside for you to sit at while watching the river flow by.
We would definitely like to go back to Rosecraddoc for another peaceful break away from the city!

Paul and I spent another wonderful 10 nights here at Rosecraddoc in in lake view 1 and this was our 6th visit.
On our way from Kent to Cornwall we made a slight detour to Chedder Gorge and OMG it was worth it, absolutely stunning, the only downside was the cost of food there, we had a ham ploughman’s and a steak pasty with a pot of tea and didn’t get much change from £40 😱and we also had 2 ice creams at another part of the gorge and they came to £7 😱
My daughter and her fiancé came for the weekend and absolutely fell in love with it too.
We have 2 small dogs who love the beaches in Cornwall and making new friends on the dog friendly beaches, the 2 main ones we love are Padstow and Crantock, there are plenty of others but these are our go to beaches.
My husband and I take the dogs to the beach in the morning and mid afternoon we return, I sit on the balcony with the dogs and my husband fishes in the well stocked lake.
Rosecraddoc is the perfect place to stay and is an ideal base to explore Cornwall from.
Just a word of warning if you go to Lands End be aware you have to pay £8 for parking and you also have to pay now to have your pic taken under the sign.
Everywhere else we have visited in Cornwall was reasonably priced for parking.
We have already booked again for sept and can’t wait, look forward to being back again soon, all hail
Staycations
For some reason it won’t allow me to add pictures as they are allegedly too big!!!!

What a lovely resort very grand looking
Staff very helpful before arriving as had a few questions .
Check in was late but that was because of Covid.
Amazing property very high ceilings
Fully equipped Apartment big lounge and bedrooms had ensuite each which was handy
The only downside was the main bedroom there was no where to hang towels and toilet flush was not great but managed.
Also bed very old and uncomfortable and really squeaked when you moved.
Just needs some money spending on it
The Shutters didn't shut so had to use something to keep them shut both bathroom door and bedroom door swollen so wouldn't close ..
But apart from that it was well worth the money and area great lots close by by car not walking.
Unfortunately the village pub on site was shut and the closest pub booked up so needed to go out of area but probably due to season and not much around.
Would recommend the Manor and the other accommodation in the resort .
We took our bikes and highly recommended the Camel Trail which was about 1/2 hrs away

Just back from a very chilling ad relaxing week away returning to our favourite place to stay in Cornwall. This was our 14th stay here and this time we returned to Lakeside View 2 - ideal with the walk in shower for my elderly father. We found the accommodation well ventilated and equipped. Due to the current pandemic we were charged a flat rate for the electricity instead of the usual chargeable amount at the end of the stay, a much better idea. We have stayed in many of the different accommodation units within the grounds and would highly recommend Rosecraddoc Manor.
Looking forward to our return next year.

This has been our 5th visit to Rosecraddoc Manor staying in the lake view accommodation with our two small dogs, my husband enjoys the fishing in the lake and we both enjoy taking Barney and Teddy to all the beaches Cornwall has to offer.
The lake views are just lovely, loads of room for 6 people and dogs and you won’t be falling over each other as very spacious, the balconies too are spacious and if you feel the need you can also have yourself a sauna adjacent to the master bedroom.
Alex and Clive (The owners) try to accommodate all and any of your requirements (had steak delivered from their butcher for our bbq) they also run a wonderful restaurant/bar with wonderful produce and good value for money ( I can’t comment on the curry night as myself and husband don’t eat it)
Staying at Rosecraddoc Manor gives you somewhere quiet to relax, read a book, fish and take the dogs for walks around the grounds and woods, you’re also not far from many towns and beaches which are dog friendly and just a drive away from Portsmouth.
All in all we can not fault the place and will be going back ❤️
I wanted to add more photos but only allowed
To add 10 🥺

The houses are excellent accommodation. We had the Riverside 1 and having stayed before we knew what to expect, a relaxing peaceful stay. The grounds are kept in excellent condition and my daily early morning, and sometimes early evening visits to the lake produced several good sized Carp, Mirror, Leather & Common varieties. The lake had been dredged free of Lilly pads so was easy to fish. We're booking again for next year.

Alex called us on Friday 1st of March the day of our arrival to inform me that the Appartement would not be ready as the previous Guests (3 Lads ) who had stayed for 2 weeks had left the place in a mess, Alex offered me a 3 Bedroom River View Villa instead at no extra cost, the Villa was a lovely property.
We had a visit on Sunday from Julie (Manageress) to apologise and said that we could see the Appartment which was still not ready and on entering I could see the Appartment was still was in a mess even after 2 days of cleaning and that they had a lot to do.
The television was not working on Monday so I called Alex and she informed me Steve (Julies Husband) would come over, within an hour he was with us bt could not get it working and he would give us a smart TV this was done within 30 minutes, the staff were excellent they couldn't have done enough for us and are a credit to the company Top Marks to them.
the following comments are not a complaint but Observations
1. the downstairs Bedroom had a metal bed and when you turned it made a squeeky noise which woke me up and the mattress was a bit thin.
2. the wet room was really big but when you turned the shower on the water went all over the tiled floor which made it slippery an accident waiting to happen especially for elderly and infirm, I would suggest a shower curtain, some hand rails, maybe a shower mat and there was no mirror for shaving.
I repeat this is not a complaint but just "Observations" this did not stop having a great stay at such a lovely and peaceful place with fantastic staff we didn't see anyone before we left on Wednesday 6th March to say thank you so I would like to say a Massive Thank you to you all for making our stay Fantastic.

On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived early.
Our disabled Accommodation was lovely but downstairs bed was very uncomfortable and a quilt had to be placed on top of mattress to make comfortable.
The wet room , which was needed every day, did not drain away therefore leaving the whole floor wet and causing a slip hazard especially for my disabled husband. When I mentioned this to the manager ( Julie) and suggested a squeegy mop her response was ‘ its only designed for a quick sharp shower but you could always buy one!’
Also did not have DVD/ CD player or sauna as advertised.

Hidden gem in the Cornish countryside.
Spent a short break at rosecraddoc and decided to try the lake and fish. Very well kept lake that is clearing looked after and the grounds are very well kept with secret Cornish pixies trees dotted around the grounds.
The lake was full of excellent quality fish that have been been looked after. The houses around the lake are beautiful and well worth the visit.
Rosecraddoc is a brilliant place to stay.
