Wow! What a perfect place for a family especially for those loving animals and nature. Everything so thoughtfully planned out even to beautiful walks and scavenger hunts with ropes and natural climbing areas, bridges and lookout points.
The animals feeding with Farmer Jenny was brilliant, the kids (2 and 5) got involved with the hay and straw, collecting the eggs, feeding the goats and chickens, stroking the pigs and admiring the alpaca.
We felt Covid Safe the entire time we were there with billable pool slots, cleaning facilities and hand gel wherever you needed it.
The log fire was prepped ready for the match to just be struck so after a long and wet car journey down the kids enjoyed toasted marshmallows by the fire.
The pony ride on the morning we left was just perfect and the kids loved every second.
The soft play is beautifully clean and well kept and there are so many little extras around with no corners cut.
Well done Tredethick we will be booking our return visit soon and have told all our friends how fabulous it is.

We're just on our way back from a great week staying in Hayloft. We knew other families who had been to Tredethick and highly recommended it.
We were able to book deposit free in view of the Covid-19 situation and Jenny was very patient with my numerous queries ahead of our arrival (about how things would work and what would be open). It was very easy to socially distance whilst there and there has obviously been a lot of thought put in to making it work effectively with the current rules and recommendations.
We have three children aged 6, 3 and 1 and it suited us really well. Our kids loved the animal feeding and pony rides. The forest trail was also a highlight and we enjoyed the pool and made good use of the playpark. My eldest daughter was very excited to get eggs from the chickens and had been talking about doing it for ages before we arrived!
We found it worked well to have a half day out and a half day on the farm but when the play barn and soft play are open I can envisage it would be very easy to spend all day on site. Activities we enjoyed nearby were beach trips, the National Aquarium in Plymouth, Lappa Valley and the Eden Project.
The honesty box operated shop was really helpful as was the ability to get a Tesco delivery on the first day and the baked goods from Baker Tom in the cottage when we arrived.
We enjoyed having lunch outside in the beautiful garden area on a few occasions.
My husband and I both had treatments from Lisa Allen holistic therapy in the cottage (over two consecutive days timed for our youngest's nap time) and this was great and I would highly recommend it. Lisa was really personable and good value for money especially given that she was willing to travel to us.
The only downside is the cost. It is expensive and we are restricted to summer holidays and I think you have to just accept that - holidaying with young children isn't easy and we have come to the conclusion that it's worth extra money to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
We have booked for next year and that is the ultimate recommendation!

We stayed in Orchard and it was a perfect stay for us and our 7 and 2 year old. They swam every day, fed the animals, collected eggs and thoroughly enjoyed their first time pony riding. The facilities were brilliant too with an indoor softplay, a play barn with a huge sandpit, ping pong and table football, the outdoor tractor and scooter track was a hit and a woodland adventure on a rainy day was perfect. The small touches made it special too including some delicious scones waiting for us after a long journey down and maps and farm trail scavenger hunt bags for the kids kept in the play barn next to the micro shop. The location was great, 10 mins to Fowey where you can get a ferry to Polruan or vist the beach and 15 mins to Eden project.

We had such a brilliant stay here with our 2 and 4 year olds. Tredethick have thought of everything so we didn’t have to - highchairs, blackout blinds and slip mats - which made it a really relaxing holiday for us.
Even on rainy days there was plenty to do - the boys loved the soft play barn and the swimming pool. We also bought some nets from the farm shop and followed the scanvenger hunt through the woods, stopping at the ponds to see what we could catch!
The highlight though was feeding the animals, collecting eggs and riding the ponies.
The staff were all so lovely and they even gave the boys a very generous goodie bag at the end. They still take their wooden tractors with them everywhere!
I have racked my brains to think of something they could improve on but cant think of anything!

We booked Tredethick for a family break with our children aged 6 and 10 wondering if maybe they were slightly too old for pony rides and feeding farm animals... we were wrong they really benefited from being slightly older! The whole set up at Tredethick is faultless from the pre visit pool booking system to the digital guestbook it all worked exceptionally well. The cottages were beautifully decorated and so cosy which was a blessing as we had awful weather so we spent more time indoors relaxing in front of the log fire. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was of very good quality. There were so many thoughtful extra touches that made the trip extra special. Location wise you need a car but we enjoyed some fantastic meals in Fowey, Par and Charlestown. The children loved the pool and we all enjoyed the hot tub. We Would thoroughly recommend.

We’ve just returned from our 3rd year staying at Tredethick and will absolutely be back next year. It’s idyllic for families with young children, just being there gives me a warm & fuzzy feeling. The attention to detail and extra touches are beyond expectation and they’ve really thought about both the adults and the children. The facilities are wonderful and all so close and convenient. It’s small enough that we’ve almost always enjoyed the pool to ourselves and never felt crowded anywhere, but it’s also lovely to chat to the other guests while the kids play together. The animal feeding and pony rides are so well organised and engaging. The kids have a brilliant time and parents actually get a chance to relax too as so much is taken care of. Accommodation is beautifully presented and maintained and the sort of place we’d have been very happy to stay pre-kids. A gem that been recommending to everyone I know!

In a year of lockdown, we were so grateful that we had booked Tredethick cottages. We stayed with our small boy (under 1) and our 3 year old. It was heaven for all of us.
Straight away we felt at home, the cottages are small but perfectly set up. The farm cats came to check us out and the peacocks strutted outside.
After a year of very little to do having all the facilities included was such a treat! They arranged it for Covid very well so we got to enjoy the outside play areas. We had sole use of the swimming pool, soft play and indoor play area, taking turns with the other families.
The highlight was feeding the animals, who were so friendly my daughter could hug them every day.
The towns and villages nearby are also perfect to visit. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we have booked again.

This is just the perfect place for families to relax and enjoy good wholesome, fun filled days on a farm. The children are always so excited to see Farmer's Jenny and Ashlyn, and love to help with all the jobs on the farm.
Quality family time is always had - everything has been thought of and highly organised around what a family needs and wants, with added luxury thrown in. Superb cottages, we have stayed in a different one each time and are never disapppinted with the cosy, warm, clean and modern interiors. We have 3 children, aged 2, 5 and 7 and everything is set up for fun indoors and out. Scooter park, trampoline, booked 1hr daily swimming slots, clean soft play, play barn, animal feeding, pony riding, dvd library, farm trails with fun activity packs for adventuring in the woods and around the farm, and a bonus of a hot tub for adult time.... All on site!!
The sourrounding area has some glorious places to visit, beaches are great in sunshine or without, our favourite is Polkerris, 20mins away. Also many spectacular walks like Lerryn, 5 mins away and Fowey is a good town if you need something or a good meal out. But to be honest you dont need to leave the farm! We always book up a year in advance for the next visit. A HUGE thank you to the whole Tredethick team for allowing us this precious and much needed break from 2020!

Tredethick is the perfect family holiday if you have young children. We have two children under three and had a wonderful holiday here in October. Everything you need is onsite, the cottages are lovely and fully equipped with everything you need (they also provided baby equipment to minimise packing), the activities are great (soft play and the pool were the highlights for our children) and its a great location to explore other parts of Cornwall. My daughter was initially nervous around the animals but Jenny was very patient and kind, explaining everything to her and really putting her at ease. The kids had a great time and we all found that we were able to relax. Would 100% recommend, particularly for young families, and we will be back!

We are a family of four with 2 young boys (6 and 4) and we are lucky enough so have stayed at Tredethick 3 times! It is a little slice of heaven amidst the beautiful Cornish countryside. Beautifully decorated cottages set around the most picture perfect little courtyard. Farm Manager Jenny is incredible with the animals and the children, remembering each child’s name and making them feel truly part of the experience is so special. My boys love the animal feeding every other morning and then pony riding on the opposite mornings with the lovely Liz. The on-site soft play, play barn and gorgeous pool are always a hit too. It really does have it all! If you’re looking for wholesome quality family time then I can’t recommend this place enough. We are fortunate enough to have been to some lovely places on holiday, Dubai, Florida, Maldives, Center Parcs but if you asked the boys where they would want to go on holiday they would always choose Tredethick over anything else!

Sorry, no we don't allow pets. But there are plenty of animals here to enjoy seeing and feeding.
Yes. There is a small area where you can buy frozen (good quality homemade) meals and eggs etc and use an honesty box system. No other fees.
