From the thoughtful touches, such as homemade muffins and a bottle of prosecco on arrival, to the attentiveness of owner Richard, property manager Tamsin and the team - our stay at the Farmhouse at Penleaze was faultless.  As a group of nine friends celebrating a birthday, the property was perfect. Abundant in size and space with more than enough bathrooms, it also has beautiful decor  - rich colours, Persian rugs and heavy drapes - which added to the atmosphere. The cherry on top was the hot tub, which was easy to use and a really welcome addition, come rain or shine. The location of the property is idyllic and there is plenty of space to park. Richard was the most incredibly warm host and we were delighted to be shown around the farm and made to feel welcome and at home thanks to his hospitality. This property is superb, both in terms of value for money and the fact it had everything we needed. It's the perfect setting for any group get together or family trip away and we cannot wait to come back.

We stayed in the farm house Aug 2019. The farm house was secluded enough so you had your own space and wasn't disturbed which was nice. The house itself feels very welcoming and there's there was plenty of room for 6 kids and 4 adults. The muffins that were left as a welcome gift were nice, but the processo was rancid. We could have really done with milk for when we arrived. But luckily morrisons and lidil are only 10 minutes drive away. The 2 sitting rooms and conservatory are really nicely set out, but the sofas aren't very comfortable and need new foam fillers or need replacing. There's plenty to do for the kids, with the games consoles, 3 large tvs, sky TV and huge garden with play house. It was nice to stay in accommodation that had toddler gates, high chairs, toilet seat and potty. Theres 3 bedrooms out of the 5 onsuite with a bathroom upstairs with corner bath and a bathroom with shower cubical down stairs. So no queuing for the bathroom. There's lots of storage for clothes, but all the double beds need new mattresses, the feel old or cheap, springy. The bedroom we stayed in with the roll bath needs to ceiling skimming. It's got huge horrid cracks in it, which isn't nice to look at when you are staying in accommodation of high standard. The chocolates left on the towels were a nice touch though. The kitchen has everything you could want to cook meals away from home all though we could not get the old cooker working and the electric cooker does not have a grill so was hard to cook for 10. It was nice to have two fridge freezers as it meant less time going to the shops. The cooker extractior front needs cleaning, it feels thich with Greece like its never been cleaned. The hot tub was nice and easy to use. An outside shower, like what we have at home would have been nice to shower before you get into the tub rather than walking through the house. We felt that an outside tap would have been useful near the tub and back door to rinse the beach things through, like wet suits. There is a hose pipe half way down the garden. Overall this accommodation is really good and we enjoyed our stay but there are areas for improvement.
