Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a friendly place! Rooms were spotless and very well equipped, on arrival we were greeted by staff and asked about our breakfast preference. Then we were shown the rooms, bedding was laid beautifully, there was shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We had mini fridge, hair dryer, kettle, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. The room was very warm. There was TV. Breakfast was delicious. I really recommend this place.

Popped into this pub following a visit across the road to Adrenaline Quarry.
Wanted just a ‘snacky’ meal so our boys had the ‘Party Platter’ to share and my husband and I had a toastie each. The boys commented on how nice and filling it was and that they were ‘stuffed’ by the end if it. It was freshly cooked and everything came to the table hot and crispy. I tasted some of the onion rings….lovely.
The toasties were made from quality bread and fillings and tasted delicious. The plate also had some chunky chips and a fresh side salad. Overall very happy with our freshly prepared ‘snack’.
I can hear you say… “but it was only a snack”, well if I can rave on about a fabulous snack what would the main meals be like?
The owner was very pleasant and the service was great so I definitely feel that he and his co -owners deserve a shout out!
We would highly recommend this pub/hotel.

This is a place we stayed when we were down here looking for a property , we have since moved down here, and when family come down to visit, we take them here . This family owned hotel really is a home from home. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. I can not comment on the breakfast as we always left early to drive back to Leeds, but I can say if breakfast is anything like the evening meals, it will be very good . The owner is very attentive without being over the top. The good range of beers , ciders , wines & spirits make sure that everyone is catered for.

We spent a full week at the hotel and cannot compliment the owners and staff highly enough for their friendliness, willingness and can do attitudes. The hotel is clean with sanitisers and Covid rules adhered to , making us feel safe. The bedroom we were in was very spacious and had a huge bathroom and was serviced regularly throughout our stay. Full English breakfast every morning and extremely tasty and varied meals. Beautiful views too!

We had a Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious. It included a really good selection of vegetables as well as generous portions of potatoes. We had the lamb shank which was cooked perfectly and served with lovely gravy. The dining area is really nice and the staff are so friendly too.

I'm currently staying here on a break with my children. I never write reviews, but I'm so pleased we chose to stay here not previously knowing the area. Rooms are immaculately presented. Toiletries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits replenished daily. Beautiful, peaceful location with easy access to anywhere in Cornwall you wish to visit. Only an hour and a bit away from Torquay, we visited the pier today. Breakfast is beautiful and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Will definitely return.

I bought my husband here for a romantic meal over the week-end.
Fantastic service, food and especially wine.
It's a quaint and quiet pub but serves above average food with a great view.
They were all very considerate of the Covid rules and took into account the fact that my husband is elderly and vulnerable. He is allergic to gluten and their selection of Gluten free options on the menu was extensive and very tasty.
Thank you and we'll see you again soon.
