What a wonderful place! I was going to be late at night but they still made provision for that. The owner John telephoned me and made sure I was clear about instructions. Room was great and I got up for breakfast in the morning. Continental brekkie but you could request things from the kitchen. Johns wife, a lady from The Netherlands, does the breakfast shift and she is so lovely. I feel bad for not asking her name. Absolutely fantastic place to stay and the view over the bay eating your brekkie is amazing. Loved every minute of it. Not even checked out yet. A very relaxing experience. I will be back.

A nice position hotel as long as you don't want. To drive around too much. Roads can be a nightmare. Lovely lounge and breakfast room. Pleasant hosts. Disappointed, there was no choice of a cooked breakfast. And the continental breakfast did not seem to change much. Same type of ham and cheese 3 days running. Yeah, also had to change out breakfast times 3 times for the convenience of the hotel. Room only cleaned once in 3 days, and towels was never replenished. There is no heated Towel rail room fourteen. Went to the reception a few times to ask for fresh towels. But never anybody there. And I didn't like to ring the ,thinking that Fresh towels would be coming along any time. One of my pet hates is when a business blames lack of staff on cutting down of service. Not the fault of the customer who has paid full price

Elleke and John are lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed talking b to them. The breakfast is fantastic. As per other reviews, don’t miss a cooked breakfast at all. Waffles were delicious and loads of other choices of breakfast foods. Location is utterly beautiful and front views stunning. The steep hill driving through the town is an experience in itself but a lovely walk to the town and back,. They operate a bar too which was great. The issue was room 14 as no views (we did not specify so our fault) but the room was extremely damp with a smell that was unhealthy. We gently pointed this out and they were very kind in doing whatever they could. We suggested a dehumidifier which they thankfully had. We emptied it multiple times as full of water. This did help but really this a problem that requires proper structural resolution to enable a safe stay for guests and one that reflects the nightly rate charged. We were offered a free drink at the bar which was kind and appreciated. A lovely place if you’re in the right room..

Best continental breakfast I've ever had (includes hard or soft boiled eggs). Impressive bar & lounge with a view of the sea. Went beyond the call of duty by providing coffee for our flasks. Lovely couple running the place. Highly recommended.

Whilst everything is exactly as in the photos, I would class this as a guest house not hotel. Unless you were staying ie have a key, it closes between 10am -4pm only does breakfasts, asking guests what time slot they wish to eat due to only six tables. The lady running this establishment was very friendly, helpful and professional. Everything was clean and tidy , well run but definitely not a hotel in our books.

Great 2 night stay. Hospitality was second to none - John was helpful and extremely friendly. Room was perfect for us as it was at the rear of the property with no direct sun! We enjoyed our continental breakfast - it's a shame they can't offer a full cooked breakfast but we understand why. Views from the hotel are stunning.

After precariously driving all the way up the narrow, yet pretty streets of Mevagissey, we were pleased to find this lovely hotel located less than a 10 minute walk from the bay and with the most spectacular views; well worth the climb back up after dinner! John & Elleke were superb hosts, they were so welcoming & couldn't have done more to make our stay memorable. Our room was comfortable and yes, the 'peach suite' is fairly dated, but it was clean & everything was in good working order, so what more could you ask for? Breakfast was delicious, with stunning views over the sea and the bar/lounge was peaceful; ideal to wind down of an evening. I'm sure we will stay here again and I'd highly recommend Mevagissey Bay Hotel to anyone.

Stayed for 2 nights in this beautiful hotel for a weekend treat. Arrived lunchtime and greeted by John and his wife Elleke. Wow what a wonderful hotel and bedroom overlooking the beautiful sea and we had the room with the patio with chairs to sit out to enjoy the wonderful views. Lovely comfy bed and breakfast continental style was lovely. Plenty to eat. Lovely walk into Portmellon and down into Mevagissey which took about 8 minutes. We will certainly be back. Thank you John and Elleke for our lovely stay at your lovely hotel. Bev and Ger
