Stayed two nights at the Wheelhouse in August22 and was a bit disappointed. The accommodation was in need of a face lift . The room was very small we were constantly knocking our legs on the bed posts as it was very tight getting around the bed. The en suite was also very small. One good point was the View from the window overlooking the harbour, excellent.
The staff were very good and couldn’t do enough for us so no problems there. We had two breakfasts the first I just wanted a boiled egg which seemed to be a problem as they had no egg cups. They presented the eggs on a plate without the egg shells and the eggs were hard boiled.
The next day I had a full English and this was good.
The position of the hotel is good right on the quayside but getting there is a bit tight as the streets are narrow, but you can park outside to drop your bags, then they give you a map to move the car to their private car park which is opposite the main car park as you enter the town. There are about five places and you are guaranteed a place.
It is easy to get there and back.

Stayed in July for 5 nights, during the Mevagissey Fest, which was busy and vibrant. The Wheel house is situated right on the harbour front. To access the rooms you have to climb the covered stairs which are situated between the Wheelhouse restaurant and the outside seating area. On the wall are three key safes numbered 1 to 3. The hosts will send you the code to access the safe so you can obtain your room key. Our room was clean and tid, nicely decorated with a small shower room and had a nice view overlooking the harbour. I can say the room is very small, there is a small wardrobe which will fit clothes in, however if you have a large suitcase or two you will be pushed for space. The bed was very comfortable. There was a small TV and tea / coffee making facilities. The hosts were very nice and polite. The price of the stay included full breakfast in the Wheel House restaurant every morning between 9am and 10am. We didn't try the restaurant meals so cannot comment. The Wheel house does have parking by Mevagissey fire station which is free and a 5 minute walk away. Overall a lovely stay in the lovely Mevagissey fishing village. Well worth a visit and stay in this B&B.

In between places in Cornwall and was told to visit Mevagissey so we parked up in this very busy place, what a beautiful old fashioned fishing port with lots of places to eat and drink. We got in this lovely little cafe right in the heart of where you have great views of the harbour with lots of small fishing boats. Our temperature was taken on entering the premises we then sat down in the window area and shared a tuna melt on panini at £9.50 with chips which was scrumptious with this we had a coffee each.

I have previously given an excellent rating to this restaurant we breakfasted there on three occasions in the one week, the staff during the day, mainly a lady called Wendy had been superb. Service was smooth, food was excellent, so we decided to book for an evening meal… It was as if we’d gone to a different place. We were shown upstairs to a bare empty room, with the exception of two people in one corner who were about to leave and a single gentleman. All the tables were unlaid, possibly because of coved there is no menu you have to order on the app, which we had done previously, and hadn’t been a problem. Our total for 3 burgers one ham egg and chips, a beer two single gin and tonics and a vodka and diet coke was £73
A young waiter arrived with a tray of drinks to gin and tonics in the appropriate glasses with ice and a slice. I had ordered a vodka and coke. On the tray was a branded beer glass filled to the top with Coca-Cola. I pointed to it and said, ‘is the vodka in there?’
He replied, ‘yes. Why, what’s wrong with it?’ I explained that I would have expected it to be in a similar glass to the gins and on ice, perhaps with a slice of lemon and definitely not in a beer class filled to the top with diet Coke, he replied, ‘well, that’s the way we serve It.’ and walked away.
‘So I just have to put up with it. Do I?’ He didn’t reply just walked off down the stairs. I’d ordered a burger with no bun. They got that right. No bun but no lettuce, no tomato, no onion, no cheese.’
As you have to pay on the app before you even receive your meal. There is no way you can say I’m not paying for that because you already have. A few minutes later the chef come manager came upstairs by now. There are only the four of us now plus the one gentleman in the corner who had ordered his meal that arrived getting cold as he sat there for a good five minutes before getting up and going downstairs to get some cutlery to eat it with. Anyway, the manager/ chef came and asked if everything was all right. He said that the waiter was upset with the way we’ve spoken to him and that we called him boy! This was an absolute lie, but I think he may have decided on the way down the stairs that he had not spoken to us correctly, so he lied in case we complained. The whole experience was dreadful. We wouldn’t visit there again. My husband then read the hundred and odd one star reviews out to us, which all seem to be the same about bad service, or bad quality. One not to be recommended, sorry Wendy it all goes to pot when you’re not there.

We loved this place, such a great location, and the view in the morning is stunning. We were able to drive onto the harbour to drop bags off and its only 5 minute walk from the parking spaces (included) up by the Willow Car Park. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the harbour. The room itself was clean and a good size, with a big bathroom and double size shower cubicle. Plenty of wardrobe space, hairdryer, lovely towels, tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was downstairs in the Wheelhouse Restaurant, and tables are reserved for the residents with a choice of all the breakfast options on the menu. We had drinks downstairs but didn’t eat there, all ordered via the app/QR code, very simple and easy to do. Wendy was really helpful and everyone we met there was very polite and hospitable. We will definitely be back, and will book direct next time so we can get the same room!

Meva is quite simply our favourite village / town in Cornwall. We ended up booking the Wheelhouse and couldn't have been happier. Recently refurbished room with stunning views of the harbour. Very friendly and welcoming including a free pint! The room was lovely and clean and had its own side entrance so you could come and go rather than through the bar. Excellent freshly cooked to order breakfast. Even better evening meals which are predominantly seafood based.
Parking is provided but outside the village about 5 minutes walk away. You can off load and load outside the hotel but then park the car. Tiny price to pay for the ultimate location.
It was busy but vibrant. Went on a cool jet boat, ate amazing fish and chips and caught dozens of mackerel off the harbour wall which we gave some to our hotel restaurant. Not the cheapest but still great value and we will go back! Highly recommend.

Although the 2 bed apartment doesn't have harbour views itself, it is still situated seconds from the bustling harbour of Mevagissey. The kitchen is modern, the double bed comfortable and while the living area is small it was perfectly adequate for our needs. We liked the nautical themed accessories and we had a very enjoyable 3 night stay.

We were lucky to spend a beautifully sunny weekend in Mevagissey. We enjoyed fish and chips, sat on the benches overlooking the harbour and chatting with locals and also local excursions including a beautiful day in nearby Fowey. We were able to drop off luggage outside the apartment (easier as it was evening and there wasn't much traffic around) The Wheelhouse has complimentary parking near the big public carpark, a 5 minute walk away. All worked well.

We waited 45 minutes in the cold, without explanation from the staff, for food that arrived cold just as we were about to walk out. The staff were badly trained and apathetic. Management clearly couldn't care less. Fish batter was uncooked when it arrived, chips cold. The place wasn't even busy, it was almost empty when we left but the staff said "couldn't cope". Well that much was true. There are so many other good places in Mevagissey, there's no need to bother with this cynical tourist trap. Avoid.

Visited Mevagissey as was in the area. We dinned here as a lot of places were only taking bookings and our visit wasn’t pre planned. Excellent location on the harbour and. I found the food very tasty I had mackerel and my wife had fish and chips, both rather large servings and reasonably priced. Order is done by yourself and food comes to your table, service was quick despite being busy. Would definitely visit again.

The room had a superb view over the harbour and we had the window open at night and could hear the sea and the fishermen bringing in their catch from the early hours.

The hotel has just a few rooms and is well run and offers a nice fresh breakfast.

The hotel is right on the harbour front and there is parking on the quay a few hundred yards away.
