What an idyllic stay in a beautiful cottage with such a lovely host. The basket full of breakfast treats was beautifully arranged and very tasty. The amenities in the room were very artistically dusplayed. Loved the special touches including homemade natural shower gel . Plus location was perfect.

Fran was very welcoming, our room (Lighthouse) had everything we needed and it was clear that Fran had given lots of attention to detail, e.g. a little black tower for makeup (great idea!) washing up liquid & dishcloth, tea, coffee, fresh milk every day in a flask, slippers etc. Fran gave us suggestions about the area and was always available if needed. The breakfasts were wonderful, a great selection, you could taste the freshness and they were very generous and delivered to our room so attractively in a basket. The bathroom is a bit small but very tastefully designed and with a good shower with plenty of hot water. The cottage is very central, there is parking a short walk away and the harbour is only a few steps from the front door which was just great. We had a lovely time there.

Wonderful sums up perfectly this beautiful B&B and its host Fran.
From the moment I first booked to the time we arrived and all through our stay Fran was just the best, nothing was too much trouble and any requests such as fresh towels etc were readily given.
Stone's Throw Cottage was perfectly positioned within the village and was only a minute away from the various Bar's, Restaurants and the lovely Harbour.
Our room was fresh, well decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed.
Even with the current Covid regulations Fran made sure that we were very well looked after. Breakfast was served in our room but it was amazing and the choice was excellent from fresh baguettes to fruit and Muesli.
I cannot recommend this beautiful B&B enough and would definitely have no hesitation in staying again.
Thank you Fran

We stayed for three nights in early August, a birthday present to me from my wife. What a lovely present it was! This is a really nice place to stay, right down in the old harbour complete with the sound of seagulls, narrow streets and bags of charm. Fran is a great host, very welcoming and she's created a 'home from home' feel to her cottage. As other reviews have said, the breakfasts are very generous and brought to your room. We spent three days there and enjoyed a great night's sleep in the very comfy bed and found the cottage the prefect location for the harbour, seaside walks, eating out and the nearby Lost Gardens of Heligan. There is no parking but the town car park is a 5 minute walk and you can get a deal for three days so it's very affordable. The foody spots in Mevagissey make it a great place to eat out - but be prepared to book, especially this year. All in all a really special experience full of thoughtful touches. Thank you Fran!

We absolutely loved our stay at Stones' Throw Cottage. Fran is very welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts are great and there is so much choice that even the fussiest of people (me) can have a wonderful start to the day. Our room was light and decorated in a relaxing and homely way. The shower room was small but quite adequate for what we needed. The main thing was that everything was immaculately clean. I didn't like the duvet and pillows as I thought they were feather filled and I have allergies but each to their own. Fran takes a pride in what she delivers to her customers and it comes across in bucket loads. The breakfast, even though served in Covid-19 circumstances, was fresh, very tasty (you have to have the bacon bap) and presented as one would expect from a five star hotel. The location of the property is spot on for for the village/port and also for traveling to nearby attractions. I shall return!

Perfect place for a weekend getaway or a longer holiday. Fran is fabulous host, she is very welcoming, open and friendly. The location is superb, just next to the harbour on a local sort of high street full of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs. Everything you need (even an off license shop is within 5 minutes walk. Fran is incredibly efficient, the house is very clean, there is always water and any kind of milk you can think of available 24/7. My room was perfect for sunrise watching if you feel a bit lazy to get up and walk to harbour (like me!), you can enjoy it from the bedroom window. Breakfast menu is very creative and can feel a bit overwhelming especially for someone who doesn't usually eat before 10am. I happily overordered every day and thoroughly enjoyed my morning feast although felt obliged to go hiking afterwards after such a booster. Home made summer berry jam by Fran is definitely a must try! My stay was full of small pleasant surprises by the host which made it absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely 3 days staying here. Fran made us feel very welcome and very “Covid secure”. The rooms are extremely comfortable and furnished with style. The breakfast baskets that were delivered were beautifully presented with everything very fresh. The hot croissants and baguettes were lovely.

Stone’s Throw Cottage is situated right in the heart of Mevagissy and literally a stone’s throw from the harbour. It’s about a 7-10 minute walk from the car park. Fran is a lovely host and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the twin room (blue room) which was very clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. The room’s shower room was just across the landing and was for our sole use (no other visitors on our floor). Lovely shower. The bathroom was also lovely and clean. COVID measures in place, but this didn’t impact on our stay. Breakfast was served in the room, chosen from a menu provided the day before. Highly recommend the breakfast tortilla, it was delicious. We’d definitely stay there again if visiting Mevagissy in the future. Thank you Fran for a lovely stay.

The owner Fran was wonderful to deal with before and during our stay for 4 nights. Nothing was too much trouble. Bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom was 'tight' but manageable for two smaller people like us. Stairway was also steep/narrow but this is an old building so no one should expect anything different. Breakfast options were very good and served in the room. The location is right in the middle of the town - literally on the main street (narrow lane) but quiet. Great restaurants and pub nearby, cool little shops, great atmosphere with the harbor 100 yards away. Parking (concession rate) is in Willow Car Park just before the main town and short walk away, suggest you don't try and bring the vehicle down the main street; park and wheel your luggage. Would definitely stay here again as the B&B is awesome, the town is wonderful and a great location to explore Cornwall.

Where can I park a car?
Answer from Franziska B
Mevagissey, United Kingdom
Hello, thank you for your question - we do not have parking at our house as we are located in the center of the village. We suggest, also to avoid the very narrow streets of Mevagissey, you park at the entrance of the village at Willow Car Park, left side, quite huge. They do provide overnight/longterm stays (as some car parks are only short term). From there, it is a 4 minute walk to our place. Hope this information helps you and if you need any assistance or you do have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us! Kind regards, Fran

Hello what are your bathroom facilities like? As there isn't any description of this. Many thanks.
Answer from Franziska B
Mevagissey, United Kingdom
Hello, thank you for your question. We do have ensuite bathrooms in the double rooms, having a toilet, a sink and a shower in it as well as toiletries and towels. The twin bed room has a separate private facility next to the room (belongs to the room, no-one else is going to use it), having the same features. We hope, you find our answer helpful, if not, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Kind regards, Stone's throw Cottage Mevagissey
