Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I Had a very enjoyable stay at the royal inn and found all the staff to be very welcoming and attentive to all my needs. Nothing was too much to ask for - and I shall definitely be returning in future

Everything here was perfect. Spotlessly clean throughout, excellent food, and friendly staff. Have stayed in three star hotels that are not as good as this. We we were lucky with the weather and we were able to eat outside in the evenings. The ‘pods’ that were probably built for Covid are a nice touch. The breakfast is cooked to order and is as good as you will get. If you stay here you won’t have to go out looking for food. The menu is wide ranging, well presented and consistently well cooked. Our room (No. 1) was large and more than well equipped and I think was typical of all the rooms. A great place to stay and we will be back.

Visited for a meal as we were staying elsewhere. Service was great and food arrived quickly and steaming hot. We had steak and ale pie with fresh veg and chips or mash. HUGE portions! Well worth the money in comparison to other places we had been. Will definitely go again before we leave. Sadly we were advised it is closing down at the end of September and has been sold on but may no longer be a pub/B&B 😢. Definitely recommend a visit.

Booked in for Dinner on the Saturday night of our Par trip. The Pub was a 8 Minute walk from the Airbnb. So very convenient. The food was really good ( a massive Pork Chop) but what really made the place was the waitress Lexi. What a star she is, helpful, engaging and very knowledgeable about the Menu. My meal choice was based on her recommendation, so thanks so much for that No negatives at all about our visit, apart from not being able to leave a well deserved tip for Lexi and her colleagues as it wasn’t possible using a credit card and we had no cash- such a shame! Great place to eat

A great place to stay in the small village of Par, close to St. Austell. The inn is just a 5 minute walk from Par beach. Our room was spacious, warm and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower etc. The staff were very good and the food was excellent Pub food with a great choice and very reasonable. Parking available and some great comfortable booths in the garden, ideal for drinks and relaxing. We will hopefully visit again. It is close to some great Cornish places such as Mevagissey, Charlestown, St. Mawes, Falmouth etc.

Perfect for a nice short stay. Friendly staff, good bar, delicious food and comfortable, clean room. The free breakfast was excellent.. a full menu to choose from and cooked to order. Will defo stop stay again if I’m the area. Only 5 minutes from Par Beach and a very short walk from local shops.

The Royal Inn at Par, Cornwall gets better every time that I visit, this was probably my sixth stay in the last decade. My room as clean, warm and very comfortable, breakfast was tasty and sufficient to last the day. I was only able to have one evening meal during my two night stay, I chose fish and chips, something that is on the menu of virtually every pub and hotel in the UK, but this was something special, the fish was flaky and tasty with a crisp, light batter, it definitely deserves praise.

We were in room 12, it was small but nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. The TV was very small, there was a radiator in the bathroom that did not have a valve or instruction on how to turn it off, it had made the whole room very hot. We opened the window wide and wrapped the radiator in a towel to stop the heat. When it came time to sleep was when we realized that our room was above the cellar and the refrigeration kicked in every forty minutes and ran for around fifteen minutes this woke us up and kept us awake throughout the night. At 7.35 am the whole building vibrated with the most horrendous noise, we think the water pipes were causing the noise, this noise did not stop for around an hour so there was no point in trying to sleep. At breakfast, a choice of four different kinds of cereal was on offer and a full English but there was no offer of pastries or jam with toast. On speaking to the owner we were offered a change of room for the next night but we declined because the horrendous noise in the morning could be heard all over the building and we did not want to pay to be woken up early in the morning again. The irony is that we had asked for a quiet room.
