Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked anchor barrow from searching online for Cornwall campsites. Stayed for 3 nights ,wish now it was more . What an excellent set up .spotless shower and toilet blocks, and an exceptionally well set bar and breakfast cabins, which allowed us to get a draft pint out in the fresh air. Truly one of the top sites we have stopped of at . Owners were brill ,,,thankyou

Stayed for one night before moving on. Don’t know what occurred two reviews down but didn’t experience anything like that. Facilities are good , we were there on the burger night which was excellent Ciders lovely , the entertainment was good , a bit windy on the hill so get a lower pitch if possible but we’re not key board warriors so thank you Anchor Barrow for a pleasant stop over. 👍👌👌

On our way home after a 4 night stay here with 4 year old and grandparents, perfect location and facilities are amazing, the best campsite wr have stayed at so far. 5 min drive to Perranporth, stunning valley views. They have thought of everything. Fantastic showers, barn, dog walking field, bar and food! Even a few singers. Will defo recommend and cant wait to come back next year! Proper Cornwall campsite!

Possibly the worst campsite in Perranporth now, its situated on a steep hill, literally rolling out of the tent door in the night.. bizzare staff members who appear to live in tents dotted around the place turn up at 2am drunk, the shop is small, expensive & the elderly clerk, when she turned up, after waiting ten minutes, was abusive. The ladies toilets where filthy. The young woman charging around hysterically, claiming to be the owner, shouting at other campers morning & night was the the final straw, actually saw her dragged away still screaming threats from one camper by the elderly store clerk. Possibly under new management, avoid!

We often visit perranporth for the day when we are in Cornwall but when my sister in law recommended anchor Barrow to stay at we thought we’d give it a go. The welcome was fantastic, very friendly and relaxed. We found a perfect spot to call home for the next three nights. It was a lovely 30min walk along the coast path to Perranporth ( there is 3 routes into perranporth)The site was very clean and the showers just the right temperature. Loads of seating if you fancy a drink from the pop up bar or take your own and soak up the views and the sunshine. The food van was very popular on Wednesday night, sadly we’d eaten so didn’t sample anything but there was lots of people who were eating and it looked delicious. Wednesday eve there was also a brilliant guitarist/mouth organ playing singer who was brilliant. We’ve told our family about Anchor Barrow and we’re organising a visit before the end of the season with everyone. We would highly recommend Anchor Barrow campsite

What a fantastic campsite - we have been camping for a number of years and can honestly say this campsite is 10/10. We had spent the previous 7 nights at a more commercialised campsite in st ives, from the minute that we drove on to site I felt instantly chilled. The scenery is so impressive, there arent hundred of tents so you have your own space and ultimately it is its cleanliness which wins for me. Its extremely reasonably priced and if you want a chilled out few days in peace and quiet this the site is for you. The themed nights, the entertainment, the food truck and the bar were all first class! We cannot wait to return next year - thank you so much anchor barrow you have made mam dad Maisie (age 11) and Emeli (age 9) all super happy 😃

Love this campsite! Been a couple of times, 5 mins from main Perrenporth: Good facilities and they have been making enhancements to it over past few years making it perfect for families and people who want a bit of the luxuries from a campsite. *7min walk from the coastal path (great views, explore the ruins or wak to town and then loop back and return via the back of the field 3.5k good for a run) *have a big barn that's open late for keeping in the warm if weather doesn't play ball. (Table Tennis and Silent disco (summer) ) *Food, breakfast, coffee and music etc over the weekends with awning (recommend the BBQ Buffet) *Onsite Bar *Wetsuit dunk bucket and all other typical facilities you require, modern toilets and showers *Dogs allowed Only things to make note of are that at windy times you can be exposed as you are at the top of a hill and not every part of the field is super flat, but prep for that and you are all good :-)

The team were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, the facilities were clean, modern and warm, and the onsite bar and food nights were an unexpected bonus! The location is a great base for running and cycling in the area too. Would definitely recommend!

I cannot speak highly enough of this site. What a pick for our holiday! Fantastic views. Friendly happy staff. Entertainment most of the week in the evenings. Little things like find the pixie doors to keep the kids occupied. The barn is there for all to use and has games supplied - brilliant for rainy days if you're just in a tent. Amazing food available most nights at a good price. Reasonably priced bar. Clean facilities and simply the best showers on a campsite ever! A very relaxed atmosphere, lots of people enjoying their holidays. Lovely walks into Perranporth or a bus that stops right outside the campsite. Honestly the only thing they could do to enhance the place is to add a small park for the kids down the dip beside the entertainment area - but it's not essential and my son had the most amazing holiday as I felt it was safe enough to let him go off and play. Will definitely return :-)
