Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just got back from two days at Cambrose. We booked last minute so were so happy they could fit us in. Wish we could have stayed the whole week. The staff are so lovely and friendly, the kids loved the park and pool. And so close to amazing beaches. This is our second visit and we will be back many times to come.

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at this site, and we loved it. Such a friendly site, which is lovingly cared by the owners. Shower blocks are dated, but are clean, other facilities just as needed. Didn't use the Games room or the pool this time, but we do intend on coming back here, so you never know for next time.

We stay here 2-3 times a year. Pitches are a really good size, much better than most we have stayed at. Electricity supply is good with no trips when you have heating etc on. Site is kept very clean with grass mowed regularly. Back field has so much space for the kids to play football, frisbies etc, perfect. Showers are dated however clean and good shower pressure with plenty of hot water. Washing up areas were just as needed. Games room basic but still entertaining with a pool table and air hockey. Haven't used the swimming pool as yet but saw plenty of people in there. Location is what its all about. There is a walk from behind the site all the way to Portreath beach which is fantastic. So close to St Ives, Hayle, Falmouth etc. Godrevy beach is a short drive and got to be one of the best in England.

It's been a long time since my wife and I last visited this well run site, but decided to return here with our kids in tow this time. The campsite is still run by a lovely welcoming couple, Graham and Jean, who couldn't do more to help out of they tried. The site is well appointed with spacious, flat pitches, with 16A electricity on appropriate pitches, kept immaculately clean, and even has its own little take away can that operates several evenings. The site also benefits from a solar heated pool, and a small children's play area, both of which were again is kept very clean. Cambrose is well situated near several beaches and the main town of Redruth, but it's a short journey to several other spots in Cornwall, meaning it worked out as a great base for us to jump of from on our many trips out to entertain the kids.

First time caravanning again for 20 years Brilliant site and the owners Graham and Jean very friendly. You would have to go a long way to find a better site. Site prices are very reasonable. Would happily go back there anytime

I stayed in August 2020 for a week at the height of the summer holidays. Managed to get a space with ehu at very late notice. Nice friendly owners, campsite is well looked after. As other reviewers have said the facilities are old, but they work perfectly fine. Will definitely be back!

The campsite is very spacious with well maintained large pitches. The loo/shower block, whilst not particularly modern, was spotlessly clean, well stocked and provided plenty of hot water. Great laundry and dish washing facility with freezer available too. The pool and onsite shop are currently closed (due to Covid 19) but the owner is readily available and very friendly should anything be needed. Portreath is lovely- great beach and lovely area with lots of options for walks and other activities. There is a cycle path from behind the campsite all the way to the town, making it a lovely, flat and safe walk to the beach. The campsite location is also great for day trips out in the car across Cornwall. We had a brilliant stay, despite the weather, and really look forward to coming back to this site again.

Great stay again at Cambrose. Due to Covid, pitches were limited but still managed to get one of our favourite pitches with ehu with only 2 weeks notice! Great value for money. Very covid-aware - hand santiser stations outside all facilities and social distancing measures put in place. Graham and Jean are great hosts and when a site draws back the same customers year after year, they're obviously doing something right! Hope to be back again next year!

Hi all we visited this camping site in the last week of the school holidays(aug2019). We had a very warm welcome from the site owners and got shown to our pitch to make sure we where happy with it. Pitch - was clean and tidy and close to electric hookup and close to fresh water. Camp shop - really well priced and good to see sweets for kids are price really well. Good selection of things if you have arrived on the first night with not a lot to eat. Aldi is the closest supermarket around 10mins drive tops. Swimming pool - states heated to 25 degrees not to sure about this as it was cold and a little bit dirty with leaves etc on the bottom ( maybe as it was the end of the six weeks holidays ? ). Due for a good clean! Lovely little toddler pool as well. Good to see the pool has a gate with a lock on to keep the kids safe and can be seen from the shop and the owners keep an eye on it. Washing up facilities- they have two areas for this in the main block and at the bottom of the camp site. The block at the bottom of the campsite had very rarely hot water and the toilets each side 1 male, 1 female where at time not very clean and no showers. Also could do with an upgrade. Main shower and cleaning block - photos attached. Washing up area 3 sinks and lots of hot water and very clean area, in this area they have washer £4 ish a wash and dryer £1 for 10 mins. They have a good iron if you need and board. Chest freezer for freezer blocks and small bags. Showers they have a family shower room - which you are going to have to dance under the shower to get wet due to poor pressure and the room is very dated and could do with a upgrade. They have two unisex shower which are small rooms with hot showers and not much power again. In the male toilets 1 shower and not much power again, also not very clean due to heavy use. Outside the showers are a mop and bucket that have seen better days and a sign saying please clean shower after use, I would think most people don’t ! Games room - pool table, air hockey table and TV all work well and is warm and dry if it rains. Chip van - well priced and very friendly people Campsite location - beautiful area of the world and not to far out from lots of little beaches and only 35 mins from st ives and 35 mins from Newquay. We went as two families with young children to this site and felt very safe and welcome. I would like to think if the owners spend some money on modernising the showers and upgrading the general main block this would end up in the UK top 100 campsites. The big question, so I asked my wife would we come here again she said no. Due to the facilities being dirty and poor shower for families to use. So I suppose if you don’t need the facilities as you have a caravan or motor home then it is a great please to be, but if you are camping then these need to be revamped and then the answer would be yes. Hope this helps you when looking at this site.
