Welcome to Penhalvean Pottery Campsite. We are a small, non-commercial, rural campsite set in 4 acres of beautiful, quiet Cornish countryside. We welcome families and well behaved dogs (which must be kept on a lead) and can accommodate caravans and campervans with several electric hookup points available. We have a communal area where we allow a camp fire, called The Stone Circle. We offer basic separate mens’ and womens’ W.C. facilities with hot showers and a small washroom area with fridge, sink, microwave & kettle. We don’t have a shop on site but there is a butchers’ shop opposite and village shop in Stithians (2 miles). We have an honesty box where we try to maintain availability for logs and other useful camping accessories. Not all of the 4 acre field is cut short and there is a path around the meadow area where we have mown sheltered pockets to hide away in.

Stayed here while my daughter attended a riding camp at Wheal Buller. Perfect campsite with spacious pitches for those who want peace and quiet. A well equipped communal kitchen, and spotlessly clean shower and loo facilities with plenty of hot water. Pub within 10 min walk and Co Op a short drive away. Tia the dog was very much at home as well ...thank you Ed.

We stayed at this beautiful place for two nights. There are hot showers that don't run out and thoughtful additions, eg washing up liquid in washing-up room, a communal fridge and microwave. It beats commercial sites hands down for us! Enjoy big and beautiful skies and immerse yourself in rural Cornwall - simply wonderful!

Had a lovely family holiday in this stunning campsite. Hot showers, clean toilets and a wash room with a communal fridge which was very handy with the hot weather! The pitches are large as they have a limit on tents on the site. Very reasonably priced and a great location to discover lots of beaches. Can't wait for our next trip.

First impressions - what a lovely place with a great view, nice and relaxed owners, relaxed location. There are showers, toliets, wash room and the owners supply the loo roll, washing up liquid etc...Hot showers don't run out! mirriors in the loos for us ladies, very clean and tidy. There are labelled taps outside for optional use - i.e. rising / drinking water. We were able to choose the spot we wanted to set up our tent, which was lovely so we choose to nestle into a corner - we were happy that the site had pincic benches to use also as we forgot our table. We were allowed to have our BBQ going whenever, which was great as the weather has been lovely, but there is no real place for an open fire... which was ok with us, however there are logs etc for sale if you need them. In terms of the area, the campsite is right up the road from Stithians Lake, which is a beautiful place to walk, cycle or take your dog. A short drive away is the the historic mining town or Redruth where there are plently of places to pick up your camping supplies. Myself and my husband took our two dogs on our weekend stay here and they really enjoyed themselves too, especially playing with some of the other campers dogs. The site is mostly enclosed which is great if you have dogs and children running free, much easier too keep an eye on them. All in all, much reccomended gem of a campsite and I would not hesitate to come back. Look forward to the next time :)

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us, it's great that you enjoyed it. We do have a camp fire area in The Stone Circle, but due to the massive heatwave and unusually dry grass that weekend, we took the decision that it was safer not to allow a large campfire. Hope to see you again in the future!
