Brilliant service service from the moment we arrived greeted with a warm welcome by Paul. Food was of the highest level impossible to find fault. The dinning room ambience was just so relaxing and enjoyable plenty of repartee with the other guests who I am sure enjoyed their stay as much as we did. Plans to return next September 2024 . June and Phil Johnson

This small family run hotel is an absolute gem. If you like good home cooking, a peaceful nights sleep and lovely company (other guests) then this hotel is for you. Paul and Bernice are such lovely people that they are not simply hoteliers but really lovely friends. And, it is superbly located for the more genuine and rugged parts of Cornwall. Best of all.....great value for money!!! See you next year.

We stayed for a week dinner, bed and breakfast and made most welcome by the family owners. Excellent meals of dinner party standard and comfortable room and bar/lounge. Great location both for walking from the hotel and easy access to SW Cornwall. Would not necessarily suit those who didn't like rigid meal times and having to book Sunday to Sunday but it suited us. This is understandable considering it is only a couple running the hotel with no assistance except some limited help from a daughter. Inexpensive for the quality of food and service. Owners wore masks indoors throughout our stay. Would return.

We were warmly greeted upon arrival and shown to our comfortable room. Delicious food every morning and night. Quiet location and easy walk to the beach through the woods. Many happy memories of our stay here. We would love to return when we can travel again. Andy and Janet Copping

The Aviary Court has extremely high standards all round. Immaculate grounds, spotlessly clean rooms and fantastic fine dining with silver service. It's family run and Paul and Bernice could not be better host and hostess. It's a throwback to an age before buffet style help yourself catering. If you appreciate really good food that varies every night and is brought to your table you will not be disappointed. Sadly, places like this are hard to find in my experience, so this one should be savored.

Just 6 bedrooms in the hotel, situated in a quiet location, just off the beaten track. Breakfast and dinner included,in our weeks stay. It is honestlly the best food I can remember having for a weeks holiday. Excellent in all respects, quality, variation and taste. What more can you ask! Standard room ,more than adequate for size and comfort.Excellent welcoming and chatty hosts.Dont miss out if you wish to stay in the area.

On our arrival Aviary Court looked delightful set in beautifully maintained and spacious grounds with easy and ample parking. Having postponed from 2020 we were slightly apprehensive about how different things might be due to Covid regulations. We need not have worried as from the moment we were greeted at the door by Paul we were made to feel extremely welcome and confident that he had everything in place for a safe and enjoyable stay. Room 5 was very quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable although the bathroom was smaller than we anticipated for a Superior room. Four items of fresh fruit each day was a welcome touch. We very much enjoyed the excellent breakfasts and dinners cooked by Bernice, in particular the interesting variety of vegetables and amazing deserts. The location is perfect for exploring this section of Cornwall and some lovely walks from the doorstep are an added bonus. Highly recommended and we hope to return soon.

The owners (in situ for 30+ years) were very friendly and helpful but overall the hotel attracts senior visitors. Hotel operates in a slight time warp with bar furnishings and seating a throw back to the 1970’s. Overall, the hotel is clean and well maintained but rooms are likewise older style and in the case of room 1 have a high step up into the shower/toilet room - washbasin in corner of bedroom - and not suitable for a person with limited mobility. Although the bed had a Hypnos mattress it was on a hard unsprung base making it difficult to get a comfortable sleep. Breakfast was divided into 10 minute time slots and was of an ok standard of typical cooked option with no continental offering of rolls with fruit jams, ham, cheese and pastries or yogurts. Evening meal was of a reasonable standard with a couple of excellent fish dishes - well we were near the sea - but there was an attempt to over complicate the vegetables - up to 4 small dishes - but being pre-prepared meant some were over cooked when served at the set meal time of 7pm. Cornwall on the whole is a depressed area with towns such as Redruth, Camborne and Penzance offering no real appeal or shops (that had any paint on the outside) and cafes/restaurants - one exception of Terrace sandwich coffee bar in Penzance. Truro, Falmouth and St Ives were better and worth a visit. We won’t be going back to the South West after a similar experience in Devon last year.

We got a last minute booking , having cancelled Crete. What a delight. Great location, wonderful evening meals and the owners were very attentive. Nothing too much trouble. Good parking and nice grounds to the hotel. Sundays to arrive and depart made the journey very good as the traffic all seemed to be going in the opposite direction. Very peaceful location with plenty of local walks and no where in Cornwall to far away to drive. A small hotel with only 6 rooms and no children, so social distancing not a problem.

From the moment of our welcome we felt right at home. Paul and Bernice are excellent hosts. Superior room was spacious, beautifully appointed, fresh fruit and bottled water daily replenished.. Every little detail thought of right down to a spare razor alongside the toiletries. Spotlessly clean throughout. Food excellent, delicious evening meals with a great choice of vegetables. Gardens are lovely and Aviary Court is an excellent base for touring this part of Cornwall. Roger and Patricia. North Somerset
