Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely campsite!! The facilities are spotless and are cleaned regularly. The double shower cubicles are brilliant when trying to shower yourself and children are the same time. They were never over crowded. The wash up facilities are lovely…I have never been to a site that provides sponges, washing up liquid and a draining board for you. The pitches are beautifully maintained and the site itself has the most scenic views. It really is a hidden gem. My boys absolutely loved the fact that a set of football goals are on site. The site is a working farm and a lot of time and effort can be seen going into the development of this site. Its a nice enclosed site, which means that I could sit and have a brew in the morning outside the tent, and my son could go and play on the meadow where I could show him at all times. The team on site are brilliant and never seem to stop working, which is reflected on how well maintained the site is. The pitches are of a great size and the hedging really gives you a sense of privacy. The pitches are also spaced out so you don’t feel crammed in either to the sides or the opposite tent. This is a great base for venturing out either in car, bike or on foot. It also has a fantastic chip shop just up the road!! Portreath is about 2 miles away and what a beautiful beach that is…also a brill bakery just up the road from it!! We wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for having us 😁

Just back from a lovely week’s stay. We could not have asked for a better campsite, it’s one of the best we have stayed at so far and we have visited Cornwall for years. The campsite is well kept with perfectly large hedged pitches. Toilets and showers are spacious and always clean. We were made to feel very welcome by both Amy and Roger who were always very friendly and helpful. We were reluctant to write a review but only because we wanted to keep this place a secret! We loved it so much that we booked for next year before we had even left.

We have been using Hill Crest Views since it opened 3 years ago, its been amazing to watch it grow. Amy has done a great job! The site is located in a small quiet village just a few minutes drive from Portreath. The village has all the amenities you could need including a Morrisons daily with very friendly staff just 5-10 minutes walk from the site. The site itself is wonderful, its peaceful and has beautiful views, the showers and toilets are brilliant , they were designed with families in mind , with space and ease of use. We love this site the only two things we would recommend is bring hard ground pegs - screw in ones work best! and watch out for the wind , being an exposed (but beautiful) location it can be tricky at times but its well worth it. Campers here are so friendly and many come back like us year after year.

What a find. you can tell when you arrive that this site is set up by someone who cares about what they are doing. Lovely spacious pitches with a Lovely breeze( we were here is the extreme heat of July 2022) bushes to separate pitches giving you more privacy. One of my major gripes when camping is the 7 second shower… how nice to see a proper shower and decent segregation to keep your clothes dry. Lovely and clean as well. Will definitely be back. Many thanks to Amy regular updates on your booking including a text message with directions on day of arrival .

Excellent and super clean showers, toilets and washing up stations. Site is very well maintained, owner and staff extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. Amy was friendly and very flexible with accommodating our ever changing requests in the many phone calls in the run up to our stay. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in September and so glad we did. Its a small site but with very generous sized pitches and gorgeous views, nice showers too. Not far from Portreath which has a lovely beach. I would recommend this place if you want a small clean no frills camping site and helpful and friendly owners.

Great site . Clean and tidy. Great view from pitches. Central for visiting the area. Cleaning materials for covid cleaning. Good to very good sized pitches. Dogs welcome. Washing up sinks but cold water only. Large showers. Narrow entrance to site easy to miss.

This is our third visit to Hillcrest Views, over the last three years its been great to see the site develop. Amy and Dave are so helpful and friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. They are extremely attentive, making sure the grass is cut, toilets and showers are regularly cleaned. Even advising campers of weather alerts. The site is lovely and quiet, it has great, well thought out shower and toilet facilities (a place to actually put you things to keep them dry when you are showering and a seat to sit on. Showers big enough for families to shower together). They have added washing up facilities and have plans over the winter to add more showers, toilets, washing up areas. It has lovely views of the surrounding countryside and is very unspoilt. It's well located for visiting all local places, you can walk to Portreath and the local village of iilogan has a Mccolls, spar and a brilliant fish and chip shop, all just 5-10 minutes walk from the site. As it is on a hill, it can be breezy here but the new hedging and fencing definitely helps. It really is a hidden gem and if you are looking for a peaceful, friendly campsite at a reasonable price you won't find better in this area. The pitches are huge and now have a little run of hedging between. They have done an excellent job of levelling the pitches just make sure you bring rock pegs! We can't wait to come back next year and see what Amy and Dave have added next!

What a little gem of a campsite, we received a very friendly welcome from Amy the owner on arrival, who told us all about what is around, the pub, shops, chippy etc There are lovely views across the surrounding farm land, and it’s a nice quiet spot, but we found it perfect as a base to explore Cornwall more widely, we never really drove more than an hour from the campsite, when visiting Tintagel or Lands End or any of the lovely harbours and villages on the coast. The facilities here are perfect, it’s basic, but the toilets and showers were always spotless, we never had to wait to go into a toilet or shower, they were always clean amd well stocked with toilet roll, soap, hand gel etc There’s also washing up facilities, recycling bins and an elsan disposal point. Amy clearly works hard , she was always about, cutting grass, cleaning the showers, and keeping the place looking great. She was also super helpful when we had a little problem involving our dogs medication, we forgot to take the syringe to administer her medication, so Amy found us a syringe we could use, worked out the correct dosage using this syringe (she used to be a veterinary nurse) and couldn’t do enough to help, this was really appreciated by my wife and I, and makes this campsite a place we would love to come back to one day.

What a fantastic campsite. We were part of a family group who camped over the bank holiday weekend. Amy & her husband couldn’t do enough for us, beautiful views & beautiful site. Spotlessly clean & very welcoming as always. Thank you Amy for all your efforts in keeping us happy. Can’t wait to be back. X
