Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What can I say about here.. i have stayed in over 30 different accommodations in Cornwall and this is honestly the best. From ease of booking and checking in, to a helpful member of staff to contact this Is the real deal. On street parking available or if like me you are using public transport it is extremely well located within a short distance of bus and railway stations. Lansdowne offers a kitchen facility fully stocked with essential items and also a range of breakfast items are available for guests. I write this after only my first night of a weeks break it really is that good.

We booked in for a few weeks while buying a house nearby but delays meant that we stayed for four months, including Christmas! During that time, we couldn't have been made to feel more at home by the friendly, helpful owners and staff who even provided Christmas decorations and presents for our little one. The rooms are beautiful and well-appointed with use when needed of a new kitchenette. We spent most of our stay in the Parakeet Suite which has the added benefit of a second room and a large rear window with views across the valley to the top of Carn Brea and down the valley beyond the viaduct to the sea. Close to the town centre and railway station and with plenty of street parking nearby, the location is perfect. A lovely home from home that we were sad to leave. We don't want to promote it too enthusiastically, though, as we might need to stay there again...!

With its magnificent turret tower and thoughtful, bespoke decor, this really is a great place to use as a base in Cornwall. The hosts are lovely and made us feel right at home. You can feel the love and hard work that has gone into making Lansdowne Simply Stay a home-from-home in delightful Cornwall. Redruth has the best of both worlds - you're in town so within easy reach of restaurants and bars, yet only a short drive from beautiful beaches and stunning coastlines. And to top it off, Lansdowne Simply Stay is good value for money; when you read horror stories of how much some establishments are putting their prices up to cash in on Covid, Lansdowne Simply Stay is a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to going back next month.

The customer service is very poor when trying to sort amy issues, especially lying and telling different stories to myself and my partner. Breaking GDPR rules online and then removing social media pages for 24 hours in order to attempt to delete a negative review. Cancelling our booking and then being able to book online through their website despite being told the booking had been taken. Its all pretty shameful behaviour. I'm glad we haven't stayed here, I wouldn't have wanted to take a room under this new management.

We stayed in Badger Room We stayed here last month as a retreat from life after working very hard throughout all the lockdowns. Access to the property was simple and problem free, the room was absolutely beautiful and full of character with a unique mix of ornaments and artwork on the walls, giving it a homely, well thought out feel. There was plenty of space for our luggage and the bed was huge and so so comfortable. I don’t usually sleep well when I go away, but this bed was the best - if I have space when I move house I want to get one of these beds, they really are good! The bonus feature I hadn’t appreciated until our arrival, was the provision of Netflix in each room, on a massive telly, making it a real home from home. We really wanted some chill downtime whilst away and this was a great added luxury that is way better than watching my shows on an iPad! En suite bathroom, again, beautifully fitted and decorated, with a spacious shower cubicle and one of those big posh shower heads (is it called rain forest? I can’t remember, but I loved it) We found a lovely breakfast just 5 mins walk away, at The Market Way Cafe (open Tuesday- Saturday) which I’d also recommend, as it was very convenient and well priced. Redruth itself has all the essentials you may need to buy whilst on your travels and is a well located base for making trips all over Cornwall. We had a lovely relaxing break and will definitely stay here again.

We booked our stay at this hotel in January via booking.com, it clearly stated to pay on arrival to the hotel, this was later confirmed by their booking management on the 4th of August, booking is fine, pay on arrival. Today we've had notice they cancelled our booking because of none payment, but have already given that booking to someone else who's paid nearly 3 times what we had. Disgusting attitude for which I hope they suffer

Would like to leave a positive review of our stay, but unfortunately i am unable due to a number of issues that occured during our stay. We arrived to a loose towel rail, stagnant water in the kettle and a dirty toilet. The sheets were spoiled with what i can only guess was blood. The rooms were not cleaned throughout our stay, no fresh linen or towels were offered. The breakfast offered was limited to a basic continental which we declined in favour of a local cooked alternative on a daily basis. That said we both slept well and were well rested.
