My 2nd visit this year and it was still as brilliant as when we stayed in August. The staff are so friendly the place is so clean and tidy, and the pitches are of a really good size. Location is really good with access to pretty much everywhere in Cornwall. Will certainly be going back again :) Really good value for money! I miss it already.

Great campsite. The dog field is perfect for our dog. Kids loved the games room and swimming pool. The toilets and showers are the cleanest i have seen on a campsite. The tent pitches are very generous and private. The staff are very friendly. I will going back next year

Nice campsite, spacious pitches, facilities need work! Clean most of the time but very run down and not enough showers/toilets for the number of pitches(usually queues) also could do with a shop and a pub/clubhouse

Thanks for the review Ben, we have multiple facility blocks across the holiday park, all are available to all customers rather than being allocated by field. We hope to update facilities in Owl field during the winter. We choose not to offer a shop or clubhouse on site as there are independent shops and pubs in our local village that are within walking distance, we like to support these small businesses rather than compete with them :)

Fabulous week spent at Lanyon. Lovely quiet campsite with great facilities. We stayed on Owl field, the pitch was great and plenty space, loved the hedges, making each pitch private, but still able to look out and watch the kids playing. Ours are teenagers, but was nice to see smaller kids having fun making friends. Toilet and showers were always clean, bumped into the cleaners on more ghan than one occasion, a lovely lady very welcoming. Check in was very efficient, we arrived just before 12pm after leaving home at 5am, knew check in was 1pm, so was happy to wait and have a wander round, however when we phoned to say we had arrived, they asked us to wait 10mins whilst they checked which pitch was available, and we was allocated a pitch 10mins later. Small pool on site, a great bonus, along with games room. Pizza van visited on Saturday evening, worked out well for us, with it being our last night, saved on cooking and doing the dishes. Storm Betty kept us entertained Friday evening 🤣, but also had soke glorious weather at the start of the week. Everyone we met on site was lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend this campsite. …

This site is a good location for having 3 nice pubs within walking distance, the sportsman, the victoria and the countryman. The victoria in our opinion had the nicest food but the countryman had something on every night which was lovely, but walking along the main road with children wasnt ideal. Generally anything else to visit was a 30 min drive away which wasnt a problem for us . Catching the train from st erth to st ives and carbis bay was easy and a great day out. The campsite is quiet and the small indoor pool was great for the family as we had mixed weather so the pool was great for the kids. The toilets and showers were disappointing, not very clean and very basic for the money we paid. It didnt look like they had been cleaned , only maintained by customers who are provided a mop and bucket, which was full of dirty water at the end of our stay. It was a shame we didnt see any visible staff to say hello , i think the site lacks the personal touch without having staff visible, staff are contactable via email or phone but this isnt quite the same as a warm welcome when you arrive. Overall the site is ok with lovely views and nice pubs within walking distance but this site was considerably more than what we would usually pay and expected a little bit more...…

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Caroline, it is great to hear that you and your family made good use of the pool which has been a hit during the bad weather we have had so far this season! It is disappointing to hear that you did not find the facilities up to standard as we take great pride in keeping things immaculate. We do three cleans full cleans a day as well as checks in between. We do leave a mop and bucket as well as a squeegee in each of the facilities as the weather has been so bad over the past month, it allows us to come in and clean the floors throughout the day where needed (especially after just cutting the grass!). Unfortunately, we can do a deep clean and immediately after a guest can come in and make a mess which is out of our control but if any issues are brought to our attention we would make ourselves available at a moments notice to clean things up. We understand that being physically welcomed by a member of staff at reception on arrival would be nice, it is just not do able. We are small team and it just doesn't make sense for one of us to be stationary in reception each day, especially as arrivals can come up to 8pm. The arrival system seems to work best to most customers as they can get in and out without the need to queue (great for those with small kids who have just travelled 6hrs!). We make it clear on the arrival information that we are contactable 24hrs a day and you are given a mobile number on that sheet as well as it being displayed in the reception and on the information boards across the holiday park. Our response times are very good and there is always someone about to help whenever needed :)

Clean site with lovely pitches. The hedges around the sch pitch are great for privacy and it’s lovely to have a green open space in the middle of each field. So many sites would use this to cram in more campers so it was lovely to have the space. The cleaners were so good, every time I used the facilities they had just cleaned them. They were so friendly and helpful and the most present staff on site. The Tesco Extra which was a couple of mins away by car was so handy and there’s a small village shop you can walk to as well. Lots to do in the local areas with children too. We went body boarding, to a wildlife park, a local park /soft play, explored the recommended beach areas and popped into areas further a field as well. Our children liked flying kites and playing games in the big open space outside our tent. Things to improve for us would be control of guests around the pool (particularly with unsupervised children). It does say no lifeguard, no lone swimmers and to swim at your own risk but some guests would just send children unsupervised which caused us to have to leave on a number of occasions. A stronger staff presence would help with this. The arcade was tired and felt unkept compared to the rest of the park. Everything we used didn’t work but Lanyon did give money back. Lanyon did sort this out each time but sometimes it’s difficult when you have children and everything is done by call or text which takes longer. It would be lovely to have more staff on hand and to even reopen the reception area or know where to go to find a person if there’s a problem. …

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Louise :) We take great pride in our holiday park layout, especially the size of our standard pitches as we feel it offers customers additional space that you'd be paying extra for elsewhere. It is great to hear that you found our facilities clean and tidy each time you used them and also found our team to be friendly. We will take your comments into consideration regarding the pool, we have rules customers have to adhere to such as, no lone swimmers (for safety reasons) but the responsibility of children swimming without a guardian is something we cannot take control of. We do have safety features such as a safety gate and also a door with a double handle (one high and one low which would take someone over the height of 1.1m to open) so that it is not easily accessible for young children that are unattended. We keep an eye on the pool to make sure things are clean and there aren't safety concerns - such as reminding children they shouldn't be running and jumping in if we see it when passing. But the responsibility of children's usage and behaviour does fall to the parents that should be present even if it is from the benches outside of the pool building. In relation to the rest of the holiday park, the games room does feel dated and we have unfortunately had more issues with machines this year than any before. Without turning the machines off so people cannot use them at all, we have felt it is best to make ourselves contactable to come and sort things out late into the evenings (when we close the games room). We are always available on the 24 hour on call phone and feel our response time for any issues is very quick. We hope to make some changes during our winter season to narrow down any issues with the games room but do apologies if it negatively affected your stay. We are such a small team and find that having someone stationary in reception each day would limit us too much. The on call number seems to work best for most customers as they can have instant communication with a member of the team on site and available at a moments notice. We do however try to see customers in person throughout their stay just to say hi and have a chat which is sounds like you had with some of the staff cleaning? Kind Regards, Jenny
