A classic seaside hotel re-invented. That's the ethos behind the St. Enodoc Hotel in Rock with its emphasis on comfort, design and great food. Positioned above the Camel Estuary with sweeping views across the water, it is the perfect place to relax by the sea. Leave the car and walk the few minutes to surrounding sandy beaches and take the foot-ferry to Padstow. With an endless supply of quality produce in the local area, Head Chef Guy Owen and his team will be focusing on fresh, healthy, modern recipes.

This is a lovely dog friendly hotel, right in the centre of Rock and yet tucked away enough to avoid the crowds. As a late booker, we were only able to secure a non-estuary view room but it was still nice and spacious with a large bathroom with plenty of local St Kitts toiletries. Never heard a peep from any of the neighbours so the rooms must be well sound-proofed - always a plus when you're travelling with a dog 🙂. Staff were very polite and friendly, the brasserie food and cocktails were delicious and the terrace views are beautiful. Good covid compliance and plenty of parking. Overall, a super stay and we'll definitely be back!

This is a small boutique hotel situated off the road into rock. It is modern in style with parking and electric car chargers. The small gardens are well kept and the whole ambiance is of understatement. All the staff are extremely helpful and organised taxis for us on request. There is a swimming pool and spa. We chose a room on the top floor with views over the estuary. These were emphasised by having a window seat available. The room and bed are very comfortable, although small, and the same applies to the bathroom. Breakfasts are particularly good and obviously cooked to order. There is opportunity to eat outside and a Saturday barbecue. The hotel is about 300yds from the road and 15 minutes walk to the Padstow ferry. Rock is a fairly quiet place so you need to book any restaurants (there are hardly any). A stay at St Enodoc will be restful and relaxing although naturally the room rates reflect the standard of the hotel.

We spent 4 nights at St Enodoc and loved every minute! The hotel is a perfect size - boutique and personal but with all the facilities you need not to leave. The design throughout is beautiful, while practical, and this combined with the friendly staff make a wonderfully relaxing environment from the moment you arrive. The heated pool was very welcome in the not so hot British weather, breakfast was great every morning and to have a spa and 2 restaurants on site for a hotel of only 20 bedrooms is impressive. The location is great - amazing views, a short walk into the lovely, laid back Rock with its handful of Dining option and big, non crowded beach (we ate at Mariners twice and would very much recommend too). Foot ferry to Padstow for a bit more buzz was very close by too. A great adults holiday but also the whole place was very kid and dog friendly. All in all a very easy 5 stars!!

We just had the most wonderful 2 night break at the St Enodoc. We stayed in a family suite, which was essentially a large 2 bedroom apartment and was really well appointed. We were travelling with our 9 month old baby and they had everything we needed waiting for us, including a baby bath, cot and high chair. It made packing and life so much easier and the break all the more relaxing. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome and looked after at all times. The food was delicious, view sensational and location ideal. Couldn’t recommend more!

The Enodoc maximizes everything you need from a small personal boutique hotel. The location high up from the central village road and yet at the centre of all hospitality and tourist spots. Large grounds and lower car park Maximize the estuary views in a quiet calm environment. The whole of the hotel is presented in immaculate condition and the local artist galleries throughout the hotel provide wonderful art. The rooms are decorated very tastefully with modern TV, fridge and air con. The super king beds are premium. The Brasserie estuary views and excellent food don’t disappoint either. Overall this hotel ticks all boxes on my list. If you have never been to Rock you should use the hotel location to your advantage and find the many hidden footpaths in the village as there is much more than the central road. Walk or run through the golf course past St Enodoc church to Daymer bay round Polzeath and back along the coast path/beach for the most varied 10km you’ll find.

Stayed here for four nights in August. We’ve been a few times and sort of know what to expect, its OK, we come for the location more than anything. The hotel decor is a bit dated looking and starting to look very tired, stains, chips, bumps (we have photos). Anyway, we can sort of live with that (just) — what we didn’t enjoy was the noise above us. Basically, a load kids bouncing around all day and late into the evening. Mum and Dad in a different room I’m guessing and leaving the kids to annoy somebody else, how inconsiderate. Plus, being above the restaurant didn’t help, squiffy diners sitting outside talking nonsense till late just below our room window added to it. Oh, and the kitchen extractor fan, low hum, nice. We complained, no rooms to move us into and if we walked, we’d get hit for a cancelation fee, full price of the room (£500 per night), the best they could do was meet us half way, poor, considering this was not our problem. In my opinion, the room was not fit for purpose, I did’t come on holiday to not sleep soundly, isn’t that the most basic requirement of a hotel room — a good nights sleep? We stayed, put up with it (complained every night) and it ruined our mini break. What really annoyed me and hence the review was they didn’t offer/send us a bottle of fizz to the room or offer a free meal to say sorry, not even a few quid off our bar bill when we checked out. And its not an oversight, something they missed, we complained every evening and I had a long chat with the manager on reception one morning. How mean is that? Very very poor customer service.

Dear Mr Farley, I am very sorry to receive this review from your stay in August. As I am sure you can imagine, noise from children also staying in the hotel (in the school summer holidays) and guests enjoying an alfresco dinner is mostly out of our control. We spoke with the families concerned and were assured this would be sorted. Also we close the terrace at 10pm and turn all of the kitchen equipment off at that point. I am aware you discussed the noise issues with our reception manager one morning but not that you complained every morning and evening. What is strange here is that we also receive noise complaints from other guests about your room and some strong disagreements that we asked our night manager to attend to. We pride ourselves on our customer service and as can be seen by the feedback on this site I feel that we succeed in most cases. I am sorry in yours it seems we failed. I can see that you stayed three times in the last few years so to then receive this review is disheartening. Please email me directly if you would like to discuss this further.

We stayed here for 4 nights in September with one young child.
We visited during the easing of restrictions for COVID 19. We felt very safe as masks were encouraged when walking around the hotel. There was lots of hand sanitising stations and they were always full. They also had doors and windows open.
The restaurant was really nice and they had spaced their tables out well. The food was delicious and good portions too! They had a large menu for both child and adult.
We had a family room with a estuary view which was beautiful. The room was clean and was well equipped. It came with a fridge, microwave and kettle.
Every single member of staff to receptionist, chef, maid and front of house was incredibly kind and always smiling! I had to say a HUGE thank you to Lucy on reception who went above and beyond during our stay. St Enodoc are lucky to have such a hard working member of staff!
The pool was a lovely treat especially as it was heated! The nearest beach is about a 5 min walk away (down hill!) although the way back is a bit more tiring!
Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

A four night stay with family. Great pre-stay communication (email) to sort out bookings etc. On arrival, we were not only made to feel very welcome (including dog) but that this was a hotel that took Covid-19 precautions seriously. Food was of an excellent standard with very friendly service. Would highly recommend and will visit again.

Lovely massage, facial (although pricey for Cornwall) went for prosecco and treated awfully by staff. Lied to by the manager about reservations for the following evening when we requested allergen information (question why this isn't readily available in any event on their website) and was told it didn't matter, they were full for the following evening. We looked online, checked, could see they had plenty of availability for our chosen evening so called to inquire and investigate further. We were told they had availability and the lady on the phone was apologetic and couldn't understand why we had been told there was no space. We explained we had visited post water/ day out and looked young and suspected age discrimination - she seemed to sympathise and is currently investigating.
Easy to say I will be booking my spa days/ massages/ prosecco evenings anywhere else and am extremely disappointed such discrimination is still allowed to foster so well in the hospitality industry.
For anyone that respects their elders, their youth, women, anyone LGBT I would recommend avoiding this place unless you're looking for disappointment.

Katie I don’t even know where to begin with your review. It was a simple misunderstanding with our restaurant team as they thought the restaurant was full the following evening. The receptionist then advised we did have a table for you. A simple mistake. To suggest we are ageist is frankly ridiculous. I own the hotel, age 33, so please save your absurd claims for somewhere else. We are welcoming and inclusive to ALL and this is clearly visible in all of our recent reviews. I suggest you take your attitude elsewhere as we certainly don’t welcome it here.

.... a year on from the last visit and just as welcoming. Even without the estuary and local hospitality venues this hotel would be a delight on its own. Combined with the physical environment its just the right hotel in the best location. Only managed one evening meal in the hotel restaurant this year but it felt like a better choice and experience than last time. The artwork on display throughout the hotel, from several local artists is beautiful, and the hotel interior is presented in very good condition - as was our room. We will return to the hotel on our annual business trip to the area and, good on the owners who ask for staff feedback and post replies to those customers who complain, that's good management.
To explore - walk up the side path and out the back gate onto the lane and explore the public path on the golf course to Enodoc church and the many footpaths through Rock to see the 'other side' of the village than just the road

I believe the hotel is pet friendly. There were several dogs staying with their owners at the hotel. We noticed two dogs in the restaurant whilst we ate our breakfast.

Hi, I’m not sure as I didn’t need this service. (However, it does have a business centre and caters for business meetings so I would expect printing facilities.)
Best to check directly with the hotel.
