Jenny the owner of this B&B could not have been more welcoming, kind or hospitable, doing everything she could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We had booked rooms at another B&B nearby but when we arrived found that these were not available after all. We are so glad that we were pointed in the direction of Mellowvean at Mithian. At very short notice Jenny offered us the self-catering cabin in her garden for the first night. This was comfortable and well-equipped; however it meant one of us had to sleep on the sofa-bed in the living area. On the second day Jenny suggested we take the rooms in the house, which we were very pleased with. Both were attractive, cosy and well-equipped with double bed, coffee/tea-making facilities, and digital TV. Jenny provided us with a lovely breakfast each day in her light airy conservatory and could not have been a better hostess.

Mellowvean is in the small village of Mithian a couple of miles from St Agnes, a peaceful rural situation, very quiet and secluded. There is a great pub in the village, the Miners Arms, for evening meals - within a few minutes walk of Mellowvean. St Agnes is close by with lots of places for eating out, also Perranporth is a few miles up the coast and Newquay and Truro are not far as well.

We loved our stay here and could not recommend it too highly.

My girlfried and myself had a great stay at Mellowvean last summer. After we fled another, horrible B&B in town, we even prolongued our stay longer as planned. The hosts were super nice! I absolutely recommend it!

We stayed for two nights as a centre for some clifftop walks around St Agnes. Breakfasts made to order and the cooked is delicious- not over-facing. Cereals and individually prepared fruit as well. The room was comfortable and quiet. Excellent value and warm hospitality. The local pub serves a good variety of food- an easy walk and very welcoming.

I really enjoyed staying with Jenny. She was such a lovely lady and the b&b was clean, comfortable and very nice. Also the location was really nice. A bit out in the nowhere, but close enough to a charming pub which serves excellent food and good beers. I would stay there again any time.

We stayed in the Chalet, it's down a path with it's own private garden area.
While the chalet is clearly a labour of love that has been gradually modernised and updated as required, it was perfect for the two nights that we were in the area and would be a fine base for a north coast exploring holiday.
Facilities were more than adequate for self-catering (a sharp knife that was properly sharp! - always a good sign) and there's wifi, tv or even board games for entertainment if the weather dictates!
The chalet is quite tardis-like, meaning we could each have some space to ourselves when required and the garden was great for a lazy Sunday with the papers. We were very happy at how quiet and undisturbed the set-up left us.
As many others say, the hosts are perfectly charming - Geoff even gave us a lift to an evening event we were attending a couple of miles away.

Only stayed here one night, was a shame not longer but what a lovely place to stay. Jenny the owner is a very hospitable and very kind, from the moment we arrived asking us if we would like a cup of tea or anything else.
We arrived earlier than arranged but that was not a problem.
There is a fantastic pub in the village which Jenny recommended, serving lovely food.
The room was cosy an quiet with coffee an tea provided.
Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked an plenty of tea/coffee and toast, also more if needed..
All in all a fantastic place to stay and would not hesitate to recommend.
