great location and great staff, room newly decorated - but small and with old tired furniture - not quite "deluxe double" as described, plus corridor outside full of equipment for on going re-furb. Food OK - cooked breakfast good, alternatives very uninspiring, (packaged cereals and catering jams) Bar food ordinary pub grub. OK but overall not good value for money,...

Now this is not our local pub (we so wish that it was). The moment that you step in the door the owner greets you like an old friend, the locals are welcoming, the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly so much so that you relax straight away. We were a table of 12, all of our food was served together....

It says hotel, but I would regard this more as a pub. We only went in for drinks, but I feel it is worth mentioning mainly because of the landlord. It was always busy when we went in, but the landlord always saw you coming in and made a point of welcoming you. A nice old fashioned touch that regrettably...

Aggie's ,as this local institution is known, sits in a dominant position atop the hill which descends towards two other local hostilities and then another at the beach a further half a mile away. Pretty much everything you could wish for is here. A former commercial hotel, it offers a large range of local drinks, well tended and presented. The...

We booked to stay for two nights, Friday and Saturday. To be honest we were expecting a little better. At £100 per night, I think it's reasonable to expect a very good standard of accommodation. As said in previous comments; the rear entrance from the car park, the hotel reception and the stair carpet leave a little to be desired....

Visited during half term and came here one night without a booking. Chloe was superb in sorting a table for us, in fact all the staff were lovely. The food was great and plenty of choice for me as a vegetarian. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed this weekend as I was going to a wedding nearby. There are just 6 rooms which sit above a pub/restaurant. The host was very welcoming and personally showed us to our room. The room was spacious and very clean and had sky TV including sports which is a nice touch. Tea/coffee in the room was good and included proper...

Sunday lunch here was recommended so we booked for the dining room. Both dining room and bar are very light and airy. Both were full so a good atmosphere. Choice of roast beef, pork or turkey, with nut roast option. Service was friendly and efficient. My husband ordered beef, and asked for it 'rare'. It was spot-on, which isn't always...

As usual flying about trying to find some accommodation, quite a bit of confusion trying to get checked in, as it appeared unusual to be a walk in customer rather than a booking.com client, Haggled a bit with the owner , who to be fair seems to be a good host , took 2 rooms, very nice , had an...
