Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently stayed at Blue Hills Touring Park, Perranporth. Overall was a great stay and will be back again in the future, but there are some caveats that I would like to share. The serviced pitch we had was 36 and it’s a lovely with amazing views and easy access to the gate to go for walks along the beautiful coast line, see the pics attached. The site is well maintained by two warden couples who rotate shifts and are always busy keeping the site nice and presentable, thank you. Areas I think need improving or could be a show stopper for some people; At weekends there is a lot of aircraft activity and the take off path goes straight over the sit, pending wind direction and weather, some of the aircraft are incredibly loud, the sky divers plane which goes up every hour or so was so loud you could not talk over the noise until it passed. They also run helicopter rides every 30 mins, pretty much non-stop during the day, at one point I had the warden running a petrol a strimmer, the helicopter taking off and a farm tractor passing the pitch, it was funny at the time as it was so loud! Week days are much quieter though and thankfully I love aircraft so enjoyed watching them, but be aware it is a fully active airport. The facilities at the site are fairly poor I am afraid to say, I understand from one of the wardens that they are possible updating them soon. The showers are push button ones, they are either freezing or burning hot, the wardens do try to adjust them, but struggle to get it right for everyone. There is no shop, no wardens office, they live in caravans as you come in left and right, the toilet and shower mini huts for the top field pitches are awful! Really let’s the site down. I don’t think I would come back until these are updated. Whilst the wardens were excellent overall, there were a couple of occasions where they could be quite brusk in their response for fairly simple queries which did upset me a little, especially as I had only just arrived and it was one of my first interactions. I have worked in customer services for many years and whilst customers can be an irritation especially when you are busy, they are the key to your site being a success, so if a customer says “excuse me….?” rolling your eyes, huffing and puffing to a customer because you have been asked something whilst you are busy walking somewhere, is not a great way to keep repeat custom, it’s not your home, we are not guests, it’s a business and we are paying customers, giving a A Class service is so important. Finally the one and only route into the site is incredibly narrow, so it can be a challenge. Vans leave between 9am and 11am, so I would avoid turning up early as you will be forced to reverse, which is a challenge. Same when you are leaving, try to go between these times so you are all going the same way. Summary; Would I go again, yes definitely if the facilities are updated, it’s a nice location, overall experience was good, a couple of stars lots for the above reasons, but not enough to put me off ever coming back. Thank you.

We have been regular visitors to blue hills for the past 8 years so were a bit apprehensive about visiting under new ownership. We needn’t have been as the site is just as well looked after as before with the same friendly family atmosphere. The site itself has clean facilities, and is really well laid out. Access to the airfield and the beach is easy and there are miles of walks right on your doorstep. We took our puppy with us, and she had a Brilliant time. The site is very dog friendly and the pitches are spread out enough for all of them to have their own space. There were no issues with noisy dogs at all. The site wardens are amazing and dealt with a problem we had straightaway. They are so friendly and went out of their way to come and chat with us. They are always on site. With regards to location, it’s perfect for us as we want somewhere peaceful. If you’re expecting nightlife and a party atmosphere then it’s not for you. Perranporth and St Agnes are only a 10 minute drive in either direction and both villages have a good selection of shops. We hope to visit again soon, thank you so much.

This is a super campsite in a fantastic spot - a 5 min walk trip the cliff path and stunning views. Great walking from here around to St Agnes or Perranporth. Our dog loved it. The site is really well laid out with different areas separated by hedges and each plot has good space. It is quiet, extremely clean and very well maintained by the support staff who live at the site in caravans by the entrance. Shower, toilet and washing facilities are great. We stayed in a new area that contains two permanent large safari style tents set up on decking and a classic 1950s airstream. We were in the airstream. All three of these have their own private hot tubs and decking areas. Just wonderful. The airstream is beautiful. It’s old so don’t expect perfection… but it has been restored and is very well appointed and comfortable. Bed is comfy and we slept everso well here. A small good fridge, stove and combi- oven made it easy to self-cater. The BBQ hadn’t been fitted when we were there but should be done soon. We didn’t miss it. Hottub is fab with gorgeous starry lights overhead when it gets dark. We were really happy and could’ve stayed much longer. Do try the coffee from the mobile van (Mon, Wed and Fri mornings) and fresh pizzas thurs eve.

Stayed here one night whilst walking the SWCP. An excellent campsite for hikers. There was a bench on our pitch which gave us a much needed seat at the end of a day's walking (very much appreciated). The use of a kettle and somewhere to charge our phones was much welcomed too. The toilet and shower block very well maintained and spotless. Nice and quiet too. Lots of local information available. Highly recommend

Despite a mainly wet few days, we enjoyed the new glamping safari tent ⛺️ at Blue Hills. The site was well looked after, the staff were really helpful and we made great friends with our glamping 🐈 neighbours! When the sun did come out it was glorious. We will be back!

Was it just bad luck this time ??? Out of 4 nights 2 were just ruined which ruined our holiday. How so? Both nights other campers in drink shouting loudly. Yes we all enjoy a good night and a few drinks with a bit of music but most of us have respect for the others on site whilst enjoying ourselves. When this is not the case we rely on the site management to address this. Okay first time I went to the warden and he sorted it fast but why was it not proactively sorted both times?? I said something myself the second time. Now the wardens are great and really helpful with everything until nightfall and I’m just saying it as it was. The site is spotless. We’ve stayed here before both under the old owners who were just great and the new wardens under new ownership. Not one problem but we will not be returning. 44 years of caravans and camping and this is the worst experience we’ve had. So very sad to be writing this.

Stayed here with my husband a few weeks ago. Really great location and really nice site. Showers are really good clean and music played which was a nice touch. The only downside to the showers was the water was very hot! To hot at times for me to actually use and with no function to change the temperature which if using on a child could be dangerous. Shower heads have most definitely seen better days and could do with replacing. Everything was cleaned regularly which is a credit to the staff. The room with the amenities in (fridge freezer microwave) was a really great thing to see and have. The pitches are not level in the Spitfire field, which was a little bit of a problem! Also on windy days several tents got a good roasting which isn’t the camps problem but worth noting depending on the seasons. We actually left two days earlier than planned as we didn’t want our tent destroyed like others had. It’s such a clean and friendly site. Thank you

This site is an ok site to stay on, couple issues i had was the site i was pitched on was on a massive slope, not even leveling blocks levelled my van out. It does state on the website 'slight slope' however can assure you it is more than a slight slope. Also the picture of the pitch on the website is not accurate and looks nothing like the actual pitch. No cafe or shop on site, only a mobile coffee van which only stays half an hour and leaves at 8.30am! Not ideal when most people wont get up and get ready until 8.30/9. Finally, you are a long way away from most places and access to the site is terrible if you are driving a van/motorhome/caravan. Roads very narrow and very difficult when meeting another vehicle coming opposite direction. Saying this, the staff was friendly, facilities clean and a very peaceful site. Benefits from a lovely cliff walk with breath taking views accessible from the campsite We probably wouldnt return due to location

What a wonderful campsite. Finding a peaceful break in Cornwall is tricky but this was bliss. Perfectly located (we live in Truro!) and the surrounding walks were gorgeous. The airfield activity was very interesting- (watching people parachute jump from planes). The only thing I’d say is that the Avenger field can get quite cramped. There was a vacant pitch in the corner but I think 5 pitches is too much. Considering tents and cars are bigger these days. We loved our pitch though :) facilities were spotless. We’ll be back!
