Property's Favourite Review
This is our 7th year visiting and my second review (first one being the first year we stayed!) and Bosinver is continually brilliant!
My children that are now turning into young adults still absolutely love this place and ask to return every single year after visiting! The only reason we don’t is because we can’t get in, which speaks for itself.
The reasons we love Bosinver is because it’s situated in a great location to get around Cornwall, the cottages are absolutely perfect and amazingly clean, there is plenty so do but mainly because the people who own it are extremely welcoming, accommodating and just dam right lovely!! They make us feel extremely welcome every time and can not possibly do enough for all the guests, which month after month..year after year is very rare to find!
We say every year..’this will be the last time as the kids are getting to old’ but every year we say ‘just once more!!’ As we all as a family enjoy Bosinver ❤️. I recommend and do so to all our friends that Bosinver is a very special place made perfect by all the above.
Thanks again…and we’ll see you soon

Hi DayTrip01049852181 (Haymes family) We are delighted to hear that you have had another 'fantastic' holiday here with us at Bosinver. It's fantastic to read about the different generations who have enjoyed spending time with us, Our mission is to keep Bosinver evolving, remaining up to date and current, whilst at the same time making sure that we retain that old Bosinver 'magic' that brings many of our guests back here year after year. We look forward to welcoming you again for yet another stay very soon. With every good wish Pat

We’ve just come back from a week at Bosinver which was the 2nd week they’ve been open again since lockdown. This is our 5th visit so we know the place really well.
We didn’t know how different the place would be with the restrictions but we barely noticed a difference which was fabulous for us and especially the kids. The pool wasn’t open but it’s due to reopen next weekend. You can’t borrow all the bits you usually can but that’s ok, we just brought it with us. Animal feeding is now twice a morning and you can’t do it daily as it’s about 3 cottages per session. We did it 3x in the week which the kids were happy with but was nice as there were less people around. Pony rides are now daily with a max of 8 kids per day which you book on arrival. There are bottles of sanitiser everywhere for you to use. Wild kids is now a diy pack you get on arrival and to do yourself. Tatum comes in to do marshmallow toasting for 2 families at a time but it’s very brief session.
The cottages are are clean as ever but Helen told me everything extra they do now to increase sanitising which was very impressive. She said on Saturdays they start cleaning at 8.30am and don’t finish till 4.45pm so totally understand the new 9am check out and 5pm check in. When you leave you just need to strip the beds and bag them up with towels which only takes a couple of minutes so is no hardship.
The kids were SO happy to be back at ‘farmer daves’ and after 4 months of lockdown they loved having their freedom back at their 2nd home.
Basically, this place is as special as ever and we can’t wait to go back for trip #6 no matter what restrictions are in place.
Thank you Dave, Paul and team

Sorry for the slow reply but as you can imagine the Covid precautions are taking up a lot of staff time. Thanks for going into great detail of our new ways of doing things, which I am sure is most helpful to other guests reading your review. We are now nearing the end of the summer season and entering our 8th week of trading. Most families have been thrilled to get away for a holiday and have appreciated the new regime. Some have even asked for the swimming pool sessions to continue as they are! We look forward to welcoming you for the 7th trip whenever that may be.............

As usual Bosinver did not disappoint. We were very lucky to stay in Lowen, the flagship eco house. From the moment we walked in we saw how meticulous it has been planned, from the underfloor heating to the picture windows with views out over the fields and the usual influence from Pat, I loved the big prints of cows and the quirky side tables.
The hot tub was a perfect way to spend time stargazing and generally unwinding in the evenings.
During the 3rd lockdown Pat, Dave and Paul have been busy updating little things (and a few larger projects) to enhance your stay.
Covid precautions make for a safe stay, the cleaning crew work so hard to get the cottages ready for your stay, good to talk to you all, keep up your hard work, and there are plenty of sanitising stations around the grounds so the usual activities can take place.
Each time we stay we stay in a different cottage and every time we say "this is our favourite". It happened again this time.
My top tip:-
Make sure you leave time to take in everything on offer at Bosinver, relax and go with the flow. We all need a lot less town and a lot more country, and chilling here is so easy.

Hi jan46sam18 Thanks for leaving us such a brilliant review and appreciating the hard work we have put in adapting to the current situation so much so that you were able to enjoy all the activities and facilities offered. We are delighted that you appreciated staying in Lowen our gorgeous Eco house, with the wonderful artwork and touches from Pat and her design team. The hot tub is indeed a bonus, looking at the stars whilst looking over the fields, just magical. I hope we can welcome you back to Bosinver again very soon to try another one of our cottages. Best wishes Pat

I'd like to start by saying Bosinver is a lovely place and the outdoor space available is fantastic, our children had a lovely time exploring and playing on all the equipment around the farm. We stayed in Valley View which is wonderfully situated and a good size for two small children and two adults.
That being said there were two main areas that we felt disappointed by:
1. General customer service was lacking - perhaps because of Covid, we didn't really see anyone that worked at Bosinver for 95% of our trip and when we did they weren't very welcoming. Farmer Dave was very unenthusiastic during the animal feeding and we didn't see Pat for the entirety of our stay. As other reviews have mentioned you are TOLD what to do, not asked. Their booking system for activities also seems highly ineffective, if you can book online for swimming pool times you should be able to book everything the same way. Also, if you're not going to let people onsite until 5pm that should be reflected on your website so people can make the decision whether that's acceptable before booking.
2. The pony ride that is well advertised on the website is a two minute ride up the path in and out of Bosinver and you're absolutely not allowed to go again at any time because they are over-run with bookings...even though there were only two families that showed up to ride the pony's that day.
Review of accommodation:
There is no handbook as such in the cottages so you're left to figure out how to use all the appliances and work the open fireplace. Whilst I understand you might assume that people should know these things it's terrible management to not just put some instructions for the main things in the cottages.
In Valley View the oven dials don't have the temperature printed anymore so you have to guess what temp you're cooking at.
The bedroom with two singles is VERY small and designed so that small fingers can get trapped between the door and radiator next to it, which seems very unsafe. This bedroom also only has a bath and no fixing for the shower head, so I don't think it would suit older children/adults.
The Mattress in the double bedroom is probably the original for the cottage it's so uncomfortable! And the sheets provided make it so much worse (please buy some fabric conditioner). The en-suite to the double has a light fitting without the seal so spiders crawled through it...the shower is also very weak, so if you have thick hair prepare to be in there for a while.
There is also no full length mirror which is annoying.
Other than that the cottage had a good amount of space and the table was very well presented when we entered.
Bosinver overall is lovely but I think it could use a little refresh and reinvigoration in places!

Dear Sara Thank you for your review and I am glad that you and your family found Bosinver as a lovely place and enjoyed our fantastic outdoor spaces. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer service and I was saddened to read that this was not the experience you received from us. We are very proud of what we do and as a small family business we are eager that our guests have the best holiday and I am sorry that this is not what you experienced. One of our family, usually Farmer Dave is always around, and our office is manned from 9 – 2 Monday to Friday. I am sorry that you missed us. COVID and the additional measures we have had to put in place to keep everyone safe has meant that we must be more organised. Booking up for things is an inevitable part of that. Our guests have been very understanding and we have been encouraged by the many positive reviews we have had about how we have adapted. We hope that these measures are temporary and can stop when restrictions ease, hopefully 21 June (not long now…..) Our temporary 5 pm check in is on our website and we try and make this clear in all our communications. We have had to amend these times to account for the additional cleaning (virucide demisting etc) we must undertake to keep our guests safe. I will review our communications and I welcome any suggestions to make it clearer. I sincerely hope that we can return to our normal routine and operating hours soon. We have had to remove our normal cottage folders and information to reduce the amount of touch points for guests and we recognise that this information is important and so have invested 3 months work in developing an on-line App to replace them which we launched this week, 7 June 21. This will mean you can access information on your phone, including instructions specific to your cottage. I am sorry that it was still in development when you stayed with us. We encourage guests to let us know about any problems so that we can try to resolve them whilst you are with us. We are contactable either by visiting the office or by phone. I am pleased that you enjoyed Valley View, found it well presented and a good size for your family. We replace the mattresses regularly as there is nothing more important than a good night’s sleep! Thank you also for your cottage observations and recommendations which we will carefully consider and remedy any problems we find. I hope that we can welcome you back in the future.

This was our second visit to Bosinver Farm, we have stayed in Apple in September 2019 and most recently Olearia. We had originally booked for Christmas 2020 so was very disappointed when we went into lockdown again. However fast forward to Christmas 2021 and we finally got to spend Christmas away. Bosinver did not disappoint. The facilities are wonderful and very family friendly. The swimming pool is wonderful and being able to book a 1hr slot just for your family is such a treat, my 5 year old daughter loves swimming and was thrilled to have the pool to herself. We took part in the morning animals feeding, both grown ups and children alike enjoy this, I certainly did, loved hand feeding the chickens, ducks, goats and sheep again simply wonderful whatever the weather. We completed the Wellie Boot hunt, some were tricky to find but over 2 days and retracing steps we finally found them all. The woodlands are beautiful with a lovely lake and a mini Gruffalo trail which my 5 year old loved. The childrens play areas are brilliant with a good variety. Onto the cottage itself, well just wow. Spotlessly clean with everything you need, after all managed to cook a Christmas dinner for 5 people with no problem. The cottage layout was perfect for 3 generations of family members to spend Christmas together with their own space. Loved our stay and will be booking to return in May 2023.

It was our first time visiting Bosinver as a family with two adults, 2.5 year old and with our beloved doggie.
The location is beyond perfect, so close to many major sightseeing trips but to be perfectly honest we didn’t need to venture far as everything we wanted was catered for at Bosinver.
Ventured to the local beach before checking in on our first day which was not only beautiful but dog friendly which was perfect, lots of space, great for paddling and rock pooling. A gorgeous little cafe next to the beach which we enjoyed ice creams every visit!
We stayed in the Hydrangea, it was immaculately presented, plenty of space and loved all the little homely touches. Had the most wonderful sleeps on that Shakespeare mattress (actually ordered one for home when we got back!) and the black out blind in the kids room was a real blessing as we were so lucky with glorious sunshine for our entire stay.
The outside BBQ was fantastic as we ate outside every evening watching the sunset, the adorable wildlife, especially those gorgeous ponies. The Smeg fridge is huge so had plenty of space for all our delicious goodies and of course room for our cheeky bottle of rose wine once the little one was down for the night! Kitchen was very well equipped as we love to cook it truly had everything you would need.
The included activities were what made this holiday stand out from others, feeding the animals with Farmer Dave was definitely a HUGE hit with our Son, having the opportunity to collect an egg and having a pony ride on Kizzie was so adorable. We visited the pool three times during our week stay and it was like having your own private pool! Again everything was exceptionally clean, beautifully presented and loved that there was great Covid measures in place with hand sanitiser stations around the whole place. The farm themed playpark was amazing, along with the giant sand pit which was visited daily.
The stunning lake with walks, including the Gruffalo trail were another big hit, as we had picnics watching the emperor dragonflies as well as huge tube slide, tyre swing and flying fox (zip wire). Pollinator garden was such an inspiration we are doing one at home.
The walk down to the village shop was lovely observing more wildlife on the way and ended at the The Polgooth Inn which was beautifully located, incredible good food and totally child/doggie friendly, loved that they grew most of their veg which was used in their food, service was brilliant.
The holiday would have to be the best holiday we’ve ever had, a huge thank you to Dave, Pat, Paul, Helen and all the Bosinver family for making our holiday so magical…So good in fact that we booked for next year on day two of our holiday!

Thank you for taking time to write us such a glowing review, we are thrilled that we lived up to all your expectations, and that you had a perfect holiday with us here at Bosinver. It's great to hear you enjoyed staying in Hydrangea, It is a great favourite with many of our guests. and yes we do love to welcome dogs in our 'dog friendly' cottages during the Low season, excluding of course Whitsun and the School holidays. Wonderful to read that you explored Bosinver and enjoyed family picnics, great to see that you have already booked for next year. We look forward to welcoming you back.

What a fabulous place this is! A real gem! I have had the Christmas week here with my son and his young family, having my own cottage to myself named Pear. If you are fussy like me, you will find exceptionally well organised, extremely clean and fully equipped cottages here particularly under the current Covid circumstances. Fantastic grounds, lovely woodland walks and most importantly absolutely GREAT and friendly people who own this place!! I loved every minute of my stay here as a 65-year-old grandma!

Hi Gulbin2013 Great to read your lovely review and so pleased that Bosinver met your expectations and delivered a welcome Christmas break for you and your family. It is so reassuring to know that all the extra precautions and adaptations we have implemented to ensure we are operating safely did not impact your enjoyment of your stay. Making memories is one of our goals so thank you for ticking that box for us! Hope to see you here again before too long.

Wow, just wow! We came here with our 2 year old, animal loving daughter Martha knowing that she would enjoy herself here but not quite realising just how much ALL of us would love it! We came for a week and have barely left the site because there is just so much to do here and all included in the price which is fantastic.
Martha thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals each day with Farmer Dave and collecting an egg each morning too - she was quite the expert by the end of the week, showing the other children what to do next. Farmer Dave is simply wonderful and showed great enthusiasm with the children and shared jokes with the adults.
Martha enjoyed a pony ride which she loved, we had exclusive use of the swimming pool which we were able to book for an hour via the app which May I add was also extremely helpful. This was something we loved being able to have to ourselves for an hour!
The gruffalo trail is brilliant and we found a hidden swing in the trees which my daughter (and husband) absolutely loved!
The park section is fantastic and offers a lot for children of different ages, the playhouse was my daughters particular favourite, amongst feeding the guinea pigs as we passed.
The play barn is brilliant and offers children safe play whilst parents can sit on the sofa and relax, I cannot recommend this enough!
Our cottage - Pentree - is located in the perfect spot, right next to the play barn! The ducks visited our garden each day and Martha loved going out and following them on their adventure. When we arrived our cottage was warm and there was a beautiful cake in the fridge! It’s a very spacious, bright, lovely cottage and we have loved staying in it!
I cannot recommend this place enough, it literally has everything you could need and each member of the team at Bosinver are welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Our first time here and it definitely won’t be our last.
Thank you all, we have absolutely loved it!

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are so pleased Martha has made some happy memories and you loved Pentree. Many guests say it’s like a tardis, much bigger inside than it looks! Hope to see you again soon for some more farmyard fun….

Just left and feel very buoyant after our stay at Bosivner. We can’t recommend this place enough. We stayed in Rose cottage which had everything we needed along with a nice modern and airy interior. Even though there are lots of cottages they don’t back on to each other so you actually feel like you’re in your own farm.
We came with our 2&1/2 yr old son and he loved it here. Every morning we fed the animals which he thoroughly enjoyed. Every evening we swam in the pool which was warm and a nice depth .
We also used the outdoor playground full of fun equipment including a Wendy house with an upstairs and a massive trampoline.
Along with the idyllic setting that was peaceful with the back drop of birds singing and chickens, ducks and rabbits never far away, the people who run it are lovely. Farmer Dave even gifted us some eggs to take home.
Finally the location is perfect, we did excursions to St Ives, Padstow, New Quay and the Eden project. There is so much to do in this part of Cornwall.
All in all we loved Bosinver and will definitely come back.

Thank you and so sorry for the long delay in replying. Our world has been turned upside down since the Coronavirus outbreak and its only just feeling like we are in the groove of a new normal! Hopefully we have been able to recreate the Bosinver experience you enjoyed within the new rules and guidelines and that we can welcome you back before long. One good thing in lockdown was we heard and saw more wildlife than ever - so reassuring to know they are there.

This was our visit to Bosinver, which had been highly recommended by somebody who knows it well. Those expectations were surpassed in all respects from the moment we were warmly welcomed and shown our accommodation by Farmer Dave who, together with the rest of the team, would be a cheerful presence throughout the week.
We stayed in the Farm House which proved perfect for our large three generational family. The house is spacious, well equipped and with a large private garden including hot tub which was put to good use.
Because of COVID-19, prebooking was necessary for the swimming pool but we managed four sessions during the week which was sufficient given the range of other activities. Similarly, timed slots for animal feeding and pony rides worked well and the tennis court and games room were available whenever we needed them. Unfortunately the play barn was closed which was a shame for our youngest grandchild but hopefully this will open up before too long.
We only ventured out on two days. We had prebooked the Eden Project which was not the most comfortable experience wearing a face mask but fascinating nonetheless. The other day we visited Gorran Haven where we found plenty of space in the car park and on the beach at low tide.
The Polgooth Village Store, a short walk away, is handy for replenishing supplies and we had a very good takeaway from the Polgooth Inn.
All in all a truly memorable family holiday.

Thanks for the great review. Its reassuring for us to know that previous guests are recommending us and that you enjoyed the place as much as your friends did. The Covid restrictions have meant that more and more guests are staying on site but finding plenty to do, especially now the pool is open. Having to prebook visits to gardens and attractions is making guests plan their holidays more and with a multi generational group spending time together at Bosinver has been a priority after the separation during lockdown. We do hope we can welcome you back here when the play barn is open.

We also have a local company 'Angels in the Kitchen' who do frozen meals ready for the oven, and we have a supply of these meals in the office freezers again full details are on our website. we are looking forward to meeting you in November.
Hi you need to go to their website to book. I think they are fully booked all this summer but worth emailing to be put on he list for any late cancellations. Also worth booking ahead to next year as they book up well in advance with lots of repeat visitors. It is an amazing place!
