Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean, comfortable hotel with friendly helpful staff who really put themselves out to give an excellent service. I requested disabled room for limited mobility. It was very disabled friendly with rails and fully equipped in shower room with handles and rails to ensure safety. Also special evacuation procedure in case of emergency was explained. My only criticism was the single beds were very low and narrow which caused some difficulty.

No problems encountered when I stayed for 1 night. I paid for WiFi upgrade and prepaid for breakfast.

WiFi worked with no issue and breakfast (hot and cereal I went for) tasted ok.

It's cheap and cheerful is how I'd summarize it.

The external of the building might need a lick of paint and tidy up (don't know if Travelodge is responsible or a shared ownership with other retail partners).

Polite staff, average hotel. Not keen on booking Travel Lodge again. Room needed to be freshened up, shower curtain needed to be changed and the bins needed to be emptied the following day. Could have done with a second pillow and a hair dryer.

We stayed just one night here had two rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spotless. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble...they have a great team here!

There is a bar area and restaurant too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, great value!

Many thanks everyone!

My husband and I stayed at St Austell Travelodge from 23rd to 27th December 2022 and we were really impressed. We arrived late in the evening and were warmly welcomed by Andy on reception. The Hotel was well kept throughout and our room was comfortable, clean and tidy. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly Andy but also Ethan, Sammy, Michelle, Anne and Helen… a great team! We were delighted with this Hotel and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this place; it’s excellent value for money!

Although this Travelodge has recently been renovated no consideration was given to room ventilation or air conditioning. Our room was stifling and airless. Our dilemma was whether we opened the small (and externally filthy) window to the never ending drone from the A390 passing outside our window or make use of the two desktop fans provided which were noisy and only moved the hot air about. Neither option helped. The bed was as firm as a brick and needless to say we didn’t have a restful stay.
The room otherwise was clean and adequate with a TV, and the bathroom was new and clean with a good shower into the bath.
Worryingly, the access door to each floor was kept open giving access to anyone off the street (despite us closing ours each time).
The limitless breakfast is something I personally would not recommend due to the quality of food and no option of a fried or poached egg with the cooked breakfast, just scrambled. Niles bakery is across the car park and offers 2 full Englishes for £16.
The hotel shares a site with Macdonalds drive through and KFC as well as Costa, so very busy with parking.
On a positive note, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

Very helpful staff, good value and an excellent, central location.

Avoid arriving between 4.30 and 6.30pm as you'll have trouble getting into the carpark due to the queue for the drive-thru McDonalds; it's likely to be extensive and slow-moving.

If you\re a light sleeper then you should take ear plugs. The bedroom fire doors make a loud banging noise when closing and certainly can't be ignored at night..

The hotel is fine, rooms are clean and spacious, the bed is comfy and the breakfast is great for what you pay for. Staff are helpful and friendly. The only thing that lets the hotel down is connectivity. It is in a poor 4g is weak and wifi that costs £3 for 24 hours is patchy

After a few bad experiences at other travelodge’s I had low expectations but I can honestly say this was one of my best stay’s I’ve had in a budget hotel chain like premier inn/travelodge etc. Food and drink in the restaurant were really reasonable and of a really good quality (don’t knock it before you try it) and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. I stayed for 3 nights and quite frankly I would happily stay a lot longer. Only downside is I had a disabled room where the shower wouldn’t adjust from the height of the shower seat for disabled guests and it was a twin room (can’t beat a big double bed) but I never picked and specified what I wanted just picked the cheapest room so my own fault. Overall 9/10
Any of the staff who worked for my stay on the 1st-4th of April l, thankyou very much.

It’s a room with a view. ( of McDonald’s and KFC)
Bedroom was stifling hot with 2 adults and 2 children. Windows open a small amount for safety but the constant noise from the takeaways and modified cars cruising the strip is incessant.
The room we had 104 was adequate although with two camp beds (probably more comfortable than the king size ) it was a bit cramped.
However room 104 has the lift and the stairs next to it so you can hear people coming up the stairs throughout the night.

Staff were friendly although we only saw two, Ewan and the manager who were rushing around doing everything!
Evening meal was acceptable. A little overcooked.
Breakfast again was passable although not everything was on the menu and during the rush of 5 tables things run out quick.
Not sure about the coffee machine though. A little temperamental and not that coffee ish.
A passable stay but not top of the list for returning.
No mention on the website there is no air con.
So - There is no air con and it’s very hot but they give you a desktop fan.
Despite the recent makeover it’s still a bit tired.

It is 24 hour service but there is no entry to the building without a pass after a certain time, so you will have you use the intercom system they have at the door to contact the front desk.
