Our stay at the Anchorage House began on Thursday 10th October 2019 and very sadly it came to an end on Friday, 18th October 2019. This was our 4th stay at Anchorage House, (previous visits been 2006, 2008, 2017) and again this proved to be an absolutely superb, gorgeous and most definitely glorious nine days holiday. The standard of excellence of this truly fabulous hotel needs to be written in tablets of stone. The very genuine friendship and helpfulness of the owners Jane and Steve, gorgeous hotel bedroom/en suite, truly fabulous breakfast, beautiful pristine and divine swimming pool all made our stay at Anchorage House another very happy, truly delightful and very memorable Cornish holiday. Anchorage House is Jane and Steve’s home and it really is a very beautiful home. We have always been made to feel so very welcome each and every visit. John and Lesley Lister…
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights this month with Steve and Jane at Anchorage House. This is our 5th time staying with them and our second time staying in their Stunning Suite, which is true to its name! Nothing is ever too much trouble when you stay here. Steve is so helpful with his maps and handy directions to avoid the busy roads and Jane helped us out on the only really rainy day by booking us a table at the local pub for dinner. The breakfasts are amazing - no matter what you choose. But it’s the special little touches of going that extra mile to make you feel at home, and the warmest of welcomes you receive that make it worth visiting again and again. Book with Anchorage House and you won’t be disappointed- it’s always 5 stars for us!
We recently had the privilege of staying at Anchorage House in the Desirable room (more of a suite). Ideally located close to everything, a beautiful and tastefully decorated house which was very professionally run by Steve and Jane who were wonderful friendly hosts who made us feel very welcome. In our opinion this was on a par as a 5* hotel, maybe better, because it had the personal touch so often missing from hotels. There were little luxuries in the room, a fantastic indoor swimming pool and the breakfasts were truly amazing. Thank you Steve and Jane, you made our stay an absolute pleasure and we hope to see you again. Elaine and Terry
We are truly not B&B people but were enticed by the rave reviews on TA and the images on the Anchorage House website. It is all true. this is a superb place to hang your hat for a few days in Cornwall. Our room was large and beautifully appointed. It was squeaky clean just like our home. The bed was very comfortable. The only noise we heard was a bit of road noise in the distance when we opened windows. Breakfast was generous and to order. One cannot praise Steve and Jane enough for their friendly, caring nature. You really felt invited into their home except for the last day when Steve presented a small bill. Oh well, it really was small for all we had received.
Stayed in Charming a spotlessly clean room with a huge very comfortable bed.and lovely ensuite with both bath and shower.Loved our swim in the pool.although only open certain hours this was no problem for us it was so clean and a highlight of our stay.Breakfast lovely as well, home made museli and fresh fruit salad and a perfect cooked breakfast.Location ideal for a visit to Eden Project, just a few minutes by car,Just one thing to note is the turn down service in the evening. We arrived after a long journey enjoyed a lovely swim had a quick shower before popping out for tea not out long but on our return everything was put away and moved. We had left things out of place as didnt intend to be long but it was a little unnerving as we had not realised about the turn down service. On the positive we did say that was not necessary on our second evening and it did not seem to be a problem. On the whole a very comfortable stay in very ornate surroundings.Thankyou.…
Jane and Steve welcomed us like old friends, even though it was our first visit to Anchorage House. We were well looked after, and got all the help we could have wished for. Will have no hesitation in returning in the future. Our room was lovely, and the breakfasts superb.
This is our second visit to Anchorage House and the service is still as excellent as it was several years ago! The rooms are spotlessly clean and luxurious, we stayed in ‘Stunning’ which had the most comfortable huge bed, the attention to detail is second to none. Jane and Steve make you feel so welcome and the breakfast is amazing, such a lovely choice including home made granola, muesli and smoothies not to mention the delicious cooked breakfast. It was also a real treat to have the use of a hot tub, swimming pool and gym. The location is perfect to visit Fowey, Charlestown, Mevagissey and much more. If you are thinking of visiting this area look no further, you won’t be disappointed.
After a lovely stay in 2017, we returned for 3 nights to Anchorage House, staying in the Desirable room. This room/suite is huge and beautifully decorated with an enormous bed and lovely spacious bathroom, complete with a walk in wet-room type shower. Nothing is too much trouble for hosts Steve and Jane - scrummy breakfasts, fluffy towels, lovely toiletries, huge TV, little shaded private deck to relax in the summer heat - and did I mention the stunning pool? We had a lovely time - again!
We have recently stayed at anchorage house for our 10th wedding anniversary. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place with Steve and Jane being the perfect hosts, we were even served home made cake and tea upon arrival. We stayed in the desirable room which is an annex off the house with it's own outside decking area, we were very fortunate with the weather and made a lot of use of this. The room is decorated to a very high standard and was supplied with lots of extras that you would normally receive in a hotel I.e hairdryer, toiletries, iron etc. Steve and Jane have turned their home into a welcoming haven to get away and we would not hesitate to return to this beautiful bed & breakfast.
Just come back from a great weekend here. Steve and Jane are so welcoming and helpful and Anchorage House is just lovely. It’s maybe a 30 minute walk from the Eden Project and we made it back in the dark - with the help of our borrowed torches - after the Massive Attack gig so it’s not too tricky.
