Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely won't be visiting here again, dreadful place with an owner with a horrendous attitude, hairs all over the place, disgusting. For a more enjoyable trip head to the lovely 'Magna Carta' in Windsor.

Lovely place - Cornwall that is. The attitude of the old Female host is atrocious. I find her very rude. Few hairs around the room from previous tenant and shower plug dirty. Wouldn't and wont be returning.

Absolute joke of a stay, horribly rude hosts and won’t be returning, clearly can’t take any criticism and very disappointed. Breakfast was ok terribly cheap products. Tea tray worst I’ve seen in my life

We chose Trecarne house for its location, ideal to get around Cornwall without travelling too far. On arrival Trish met us and could not have been more friendly or welcoming. The room was clean and ideal for us but there were gardens and other area to use if needed. Lots of information and guidance were available from Trish to help plan our week. Trish arranged two dinners for us along with two other guests and went way beyond expectations when it came to ensuring we had a great holiday. Being a guest at Trecarne was like staying with close friends but without the restrictions. Breakfast was impressive and arranged for whenever best suited us, quality and quantity were excellent. Trish’s staff were just as good, rooms were cleaned and even the kettle was filled ready for us to make tea when we returned from a trip around Cornwall. I can’t thank trish enough for what she did to make our stay memorable. Friendly and helpful to a fault. We’d stay there again without hesitation and would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Cornish hospitality at its best. Trish is the only B/B owner that I just had to hug to say Thank-you and goodbye at the end of our week. Happy to recommend Trecarne house to anyone wishing to stay in a friendly, well kept and welcoming B/B. George Shiels September 2020

I went to Trecarne House for an Aga Cooking Course given to me as a Christmas present. The course was excellent - with lots of really useful tips and advice about cooking with an Aga. Trish was an amazing hostess and knowledgable about all aspects of Aga cooking. We made bread together and Trish showed me how to make an incredible Aga breakfast! I would 100% recommend this course to anyone who's new to Aga cooking or wants to learn more.

I felt very uncomfortable staying here. The owners are very stern and made us feel like we were intruders. We found lots of dust in our room and had a poor night's sleep due to the noise coming from the room next door. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Would not return.

Over the past decade, we have been a guest at Trecarne House on several occasions occupying different rooms and have never been disappointed. The location offers delightful views and the rooms are well presented, exceptionally clean, and it is clear that Trish (the host) prides herself on the details. The breakfasts offered in the breakfast room (or conservatory) are of a very high standard and we feel as if we are returning home to their hospitality each time.

Thank you for your very kind and complimentary review, it's always great for the team at Trecarne House to receive genuine praise- especially from our regulars. We are blest at Trecarne House with many loyal customers who come back time and again, and we pride ourselves in remembering every customer by name. Unfortunately your review gives me no clues as to your actual identity, which is such a pity as I would love to praise you by name for taking the time to write this amazing review.(please let me know, the suspence is killing me!!) We are passionate about creating an informal and very friendly atmosphere, as you say 'a home from home' environment. Breakfast also is a speciality of the house, we want to be sure our guests's day gets off to the best piossible start, so we make sure breakfast is an experience not just a necessity. I look forward to discovering who you are,so that I can call you and thank you in person. Many thanks, havea wonderful summer. We lookforward to welcoming you back to Trecarne House soon.

A friend and I stayed after seeing The Eden Project. Trish, the host, went out of her way to be helpful and friendly. Met us as we pulled into the driveway. Even carried our bags upstairs for us. Clean, well appointed facilities. Great rural view from window. We chose not to have breakfast so cannot comment on that. I would recommend Trecarne House very highly.

My wife and I stayed at Trecarne House whilst attending a wedding in the area. From the moment we arrived our host Trish made us very welcome. Our room was lovely with views over the rolling hills behind the house. Trish was a terrific host and went the extra mile in arranging taxi's for us to got to and from the wedding and even made an appointment for my wife to go to a local hairdresser. All in all a great stay that couldn't be faulted and would definitely consider staying again if we were in the area.

Our family of five (3 children aged 10, 12 & 12) - have just returned from a 3 night stay at Trecarne House. Trish was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel very much at home straight away. The breakfasts were delicious, with lots of choice for everyone, served in the sunny conservatory. Our rooms were lovely, very clean and comfy beds. Children loved the trampoline and we enjoyed sitting in the pretty garden after a long days sightseeing. Great location, close to the Eden Project and National Trust and Bodmin Moors, would highly recommend this home from home B&B.
